IS DE LIGT 'VERY CLOSE' TO MAN UNITED TRANSFER?
This morning it was business as usual in the De Ligt transfer story with him seemingly close to Barcelona but with an offer on the table from United and other clubs which dwarfed Barcelona's offer.
Now Catalan reports that De Ligt is 'very close' to Manchester United and that the ''irrevocable offer'' by United has seen the Dutchman edge closer to a move.
It says there is nothing certain yet - is this positive news for United? Are you expecting more twists in what is set to come a transfer saga?
Is De Ligt the man to sort out United's defence?

Lol why buy him? Manchester United are going to play Phil Jones and Chris Smalling ahead of him!!! He isn’t going to come just so that he sits on the bench and watch dumb and dumber get picked ahead of him just because they are English!!

De Ligt will be playing next season along side Virgil Van Dijk, the media is forcing the link to Utd to get the best possible deal for him by linking him with their rival. It also for boasting rights once he joins them. They will try to rub it in UTD face that he joined them. When we were never actually interested in him.

Honestly, what is United's project? I'm not sure this would be a good business deal ...Although he has potential, going for Alderweireld would make more sense. He has a £25m release clause, tested and proven in the PL and CL and still a good age. WE NEED EXPERIENCE! Throwing £65m+ at a 19yo doesn't solve the lack of leadership we have at the back which is our main Achilles heel. A big risk if you ask me...

Sure he is! It's on, it's off, it's on, it's off. It's all bollocks! I'm amazed anyone can have anything positive to think about with United. More so I'm amazed you can either be arsed to talk about United after that season. First time in 30 years I was actually relieved to not have to watch us play for a few months. I've been looking forward to not watching football lol. Clubs dead regardless of who we sign under these clowns. Nothing is going to change, just relax and except we'll never be elite under them!

IF he comes to United and the recent roumors are not Raiola's mind games to boost his bonus, United will have a Sweedish-Dutch defence again like the treble season.
BUT all the recent leaks are what Raiola is used doing with clubs to gain power in transfers, wages and bonuses. Same old Raiola game.

Do you know what is fucking stupid we have ruled out a move for De Ligt but he says he isn’t ruling out a move to the Premier League so he can go to either Barca Liverpool or City I am so angry because he was pretty close of joining us but the fuck head Ed Woodward thinks he is going to Barca when he is considering joining us I am fucking done with him get someone else who will try everything and never stop until he joins us or another club

  • Marcky
    Marcky 2 months ago

All this is, is Railo wants more money and his huge agent fees. Barca are not prepared to pay his huge agent fees so now they are putting the squeeze to Barca. De Ligt has got not intention of coming to UTD but somehow it seems the decision is Raiola's and not De Ligt's who determines where he will go.

Sorry but 1) This would make zero sense from De Ligt POV 2.) I don't want him anyway. He's a wonderful prospect but you need to listen to Gullit and Mourinho talk about the Dutch League. No-one plays direct. Spurs with just Llorente exposed this for all to see. So he'd be great against City but initially at least he'd be all over the place against Burnley, Newcastle etc. But what about his headers won stats?- nearly all attacking headers. He'd need to acclimatise to EPL much like Lindelof. We need someone ready made now. But he's such a leader!? Shut up. Look at our dressing room issues - no way they're all going to fall in behind a newly arrived 19 year old white boy. He was a leader in a group of Ajax babes who came through together. And anyway can we stop ascribing leadership to any footballer who can string a sentence together. Maguire, Aldeweireld, are the CBs who evidence suggests would fit in quickly and effectively and they're gettable. If the De Ligt stuff is true it shows we've learnt nothing and are still wasting time chasing the hottest new thang. What makes it worse is we have a John Terry coached, Championship hardened Tuanzebe. Who's to say he wouldn't be balling it in the Eredivisie where nobody plays direct aerial balls?

Matthias De Ligt have tough career choices.
    1. Barcelona - playing with the greatest player in the planet Lionel Messi, alongside his bff Frankie De Jong, silverware assured.
    2. Man City - The best team in the EPL right now under the best manager in Pep G, silverware assured.
    OR
3 Man Utd - Go for the money £300K/week (as reported), working under Ole at the wheel and captained by Ashley Young.
    Your choice Matthias.
