from the Israeli perspective, peace means an end to expansion. from the Palestinian perspective, peace means they might get to keep a fraction of their country. pretty clear why the Palestinians are desperate for peace, and why the Israelis will never allow it.

What happened to journalism that this is the type of *journalists* we have today? Also, why on earth are the ''journalists'' of such a rag as the Daily Beast being interviewed? Why are we listening to a bunch of opinionated, immature kids playing at journalists nowadays? What happened to fact driven, serious, well researched, well spoken correspondents of decades back? I am talking about the americans in this piece by the way... not the others.

From circumstantial evidence it seems like this was a premeditated murder of a reputed, compassionate, and trail-blazing lady journalist by an Israeli sharpshooter (on orders from higher authorities in Israel). She was obviously an unarmed female (shoulder-length hair, with just a large camera in hand), a member of the press (with "PRESS" clearly printed on her helmet and her bullet-proof jacket). The sharpshooter aimed for her face just below the helmet to ensure that she was killed. Moreover, the shooter(s) tried to prevent others from helping the mortally wounded journalist by shooting at them while they were clearly attempting to rescue her by crying "Ambulance!" several times. The angle of the shot originating from the Israeli soldiers' side and eyewitness accounts (including that of an older male journalist who was shot in the back) should make it clear that Israel is 100% responsible for this heinous and dastardly act that they have tried to obfuscate with deliberate misinformation. The attack of mourners who were carrying the slain journalist’s casket by Israel is highly insensitive, brutal, and underscores Israeli culpability.

How can anyone attack a funeral procession.. what is wrong with these people? You take their lives, and now you can't even let them rest in peace. The wrong lessons were learnt from the persecution of the Jews in Germany, it should have been how can we not let this happen again, not oh that's how they did it.

If they had any real regard for her, they would have let her family do what they needed to do and not take over and confiscate the coffin. Their honor of a dead Palestinian journalist is just a political show. They start at the war. Too many innocent people have died because they did

This is a war crime and if a soldier can't take the second to differentiate between a civilian, a medic, a journalist, or a potential enemy, the soldier shouldn't be in the field! She was also deliberately shot, which probably means somebody gave that order! This was no accident and they wanted to take out the entire team including the guy that wanted to retrieve her body. They should be punished for the war crime committed, as well as the state that employed them.

As an Israeli, I never understood why my government care so much about what other nations think about us. We are the only point of light in a sea of darkness, yet antisemitic sentiment will always guide the world. Unexplained.
We didn't need you in our 2000 years of exile, we didn't need you in our return to our motherland, and we don't need you now. You can continue your unexplained obsession with us, as we continue to build and get stronger, guided by our providence.

  • Arne Jensen

If Noor Ibrahim does not understand Israels' position, she should listen to earlier UN representatives e.g. R. Falk who argued in favor of Palestinian suicide bombings. Political views are important in the conflict; they forge the conflict, and it´s impossible to be impartial. The ICC - to which Israel is not a member - probably decided to take on Israel, and use the material from ICJ as a way "to solve" the conflict in a Palestinian fashion. I believe that is one answer to why a number of countries are not very enthusiastic about having an ICC ruling on the conflict. Since a new judge took the seat we have not really heard much about ICC plans going further than the preliminary ruling. The police action against the angry people shouting about sacrificing their blood is understandable in light of the tense situation were 19 Israelis are killed and militants in the WB/Jenin are ramping up resistance and armed struggle.
