Not taking a damn thing away from Paul Gilbert, but doesn’t seem like Racer-X without Bruce B.
Paul Gilbert IS a God....
somebody get that guitarist sandwich
I like PG, 1 of the few virtuosos we have in rock genre, although it seems to me that there is increasing convergence between instrumental rock virtuosos and jazz virtuosos. Sound is ofc different, melody, rythm may be (also syncopated can be) but technically, as far as speed is concerned etc. rock virtuosos cane be better the some respected jazz guitarists. It's only issue of taste and choice of genre. If Paul decided play jazz he would be 1 of the best jazz guitarists and some others rockmen too.
but it's played faster
The bass player is John Alderete, fucking ignorants(I'm reading the comments)
Is the right side white Marshall stack plugged in to the guitar?
That riff at 2:12 is so incredible...one of the sickest break downs I've ever heard. Then the solo comes in and breathes legato flames on top, unleashing a fury of shredding amazement infused with *feeling.*
Dude clearly sold his soul to the devil or something his talent is remarkable!
Best performance of this solo hands down.
Slow part from 2:43 sounds like a modern tribute to "Comfortably numb" solo ! Both are amazing songs !
Is that Ben stiller?
PG is fucking flawless. Djeezes
Paul Gilbert and Scott Travis are so entertaining.
My god what an amazing player...
Paul and Juan are a very great team!! They play every song with a lot of passion...
He is a good guitarist but I hate his goddamn mimics. Geezz
surgeyX its just he feeling inferior
Who cares man? Listen to the music and his skill don't pay attention to the trivial stuff.
shit paul this is great if you read this you should use delay more often it sounds beautiful
essa musica é foda
How are humans able to play this song?
@Vertigo 101 You can't play it
These ain’t no humans
i can play it, it's practice man but unfortunately not live due to my dumb ass bass player
I wish the bass player turned his amp on.
@Esteban Peralta many thanks from a bass player ;)
Same here, the rhythms came from somewhere. The bass is one of the most misunderstood instruments, it's the glue between guitar and drums, just search on youtube any "bassless" rock song and hear the difference by yourself.
Patrick Reilly I hear the bass just fine...
Scott Travis you nasty drummer
wow you got ben stiller on bass
Came here to post this!
@Alejandro Glodowsky esto tenes que escuchar HIPPY
Esta muy empachado ese muchacho por favor...
Arthur Lee it were faster that the original
Comfortably Numb bass on the solo :p
+Korials18 Comfortably Numb chord progression on the solo)))))
Comfortably Numb harmony on the solo)))
Tempo is only 130 bpm
oh it's difficult to hear the guitar sound... because PG uses delay....
wasn't the tempo fairly high for shredding the riff altogether..
In case some people didn't know, that IS the bassist of the Mars Volta.
awesome drumz, superb guitarz, decent bassez.
Lol that i can believe, still I'm happy the sound guy overdid it with that delay. This is a pretty unique sound and was very pleasant the first few seconds of the solo. This excessive delay sounds very cool if used for a short duration which is what I'm gonna do from now on.Thanks crappy sound guy for the idea...
I read that from the Racer X forum. I believe the story came from a fan who met Paul afterwards who asked about it and Paul said that he wasn't too thrilled with the extra delay. If you notice the delay is on every song, not just the solo. I agree, adding some delay to a solo is nice, but not on the whole time.
How do you know he wasn't supposed, every time i play the solo i always have the urge to add some delay but not this much...
The delay didn't come from Paul. It came from the soundman who wasn't supposed to add delay from the board. But he did...
The delay in the solo was absolutely beautiful. Gaved me the chills and primed me to pick up my electric guitar and play my ass off!
never heard paul use delay like that before, didnt like the sound of it much actually
