You’ve got to be careful with specialized non-stick pans, since usually it’s a chemical property that tends not to fare well with human health even in its trace amounts.

Red copper has a symbol on their pans showing that it's compatible with electric heat, why? It's not compatible induction and what pan isn't compatible with a 1930s hotplate seems to me that symbol is trying to decieve

There's another brand called copper chef, its similar to all of these as well, however I have had better luck with it than the three you showed here. The copper chef pans aren't as thick as the ones you showed, so they might not hold up to a car or a hammer too well, but I don't foresee that being a problem lol.

We just got one of the red copper pans a few days ago and my wife loves. Our son actually used it first to make some eggs and is anxious to see how it will do with hamburgers. My wife cooked sausage in it to put in some pizza hot pockets, which she also made in the red copper pan. We were deciding between it and the granite rock pan (walmart didn't have the blue diamond). Might try the granite rock next but i think we will likely just stick with the red copper pans to be honest. One thing puzzles me on the durability tests for these pans though. Where are people keeping their pans that they might have to worry about them being run over by a car or getting hit by a hammer? What kind of hazardous kitchen do they have where the pans need to have that kind of durability? I don't think that's a kitchen i want to step one foot in, ever.

2 things you can do to DRAMATICALLY extend the life of your non stick cookware and both are rules you violated in the video :-)

First NEVER use the green scrub pads. get the blue non scratch pads. green ones will destroy the non stick over time.

Second never clean while hot. let the pan cool down a bit then clean with hot soapy water and the blue pad.
MY copper pan held up for over 2 years nearly perfectly till I let my sis try cooking something in it. our stove has a hyper mode where it can get REALLY hot she mistakenly used that. got so freaking hot melted the eggs into the pan and warped it. Nothing I did could get it out. binned it. she won't use one again till I train her how to use them :-) hehe

All 3 of these products are basically the same product and I own all 3 and a cheap Faber Ware copper top non-stick frying pan that does the exact same stuff as the Red Copper, Blue Diamond, and Granite Rock without struggle. So if you want these features just buy the Faber Ware one because it is like $12 and it does everything that the other pans can do.

  • Ja Biezel
    Ja Biezel Month ago

I would love to give that copper one a try. Besides just looking sic, it handled the tests with flying colors. However, like some people are saying, after an amount of time (usually not very long) the pan not only doesn't perform properly, but becomes worse than just a regular pan. What's more, there have been consumer reports on non-stick pans, specifically Teflon, that leeches it's coating into/onto your food. After reading about this I'm leery about buying/using Any pan with a "non-stick" coating. I will always be wondering about when the pan is no longer behaving like a non-stick pan, what happened to the coating?! Did it end up in my stomach? Unfortunately, heat+metal you're always going to have trouble creating a lasting non-stick surface. Whoever comes up with the next "space age polymer" (lol) that not only beats out Teflon, but actually stands up and holds up to heat indefinitely, is not only a genius, but it's going to Bank.

Do any of these pans not have a "moat" around the edge? They all seem to have this, and it means you need to waste a ton of oil. If you don't use enough oil to fill the moat, the center goes dry and the food burns. Is the "moat" a requirement of the manufacturing process, or some misguided attempt to give us less oily food?
