32:00 that post is from 2 days ago so how is this video up when you said it’s the 8th
@James craven have you contacted them?
@Mas It'd be much more effective to have a second QNAP, even the cheapest 8-bay one with slow NAS-spec'ed HDDs, in a second container and set it up as a sync target. That way they'd have a on-site instant-on backup in case the primary box goes up in smoke. (Plus naturally an off-site generational backup.)
@Mas Hard to say with the caching, might get away with 5 or 6 depending where the scratch disk is located and workflow
@randgate RAID 0 i bet but sounds like they using RAID 10 now?
I've recommended your company to my boss to do our concrete poor in London Colney it's a big job and I no your company will deliver. We will be emailing you tomorrow with the spec and hopefully take it from there
Hey Daniel, I noticed your energy wasn’t what is used to be. I just want you to know that we’re proud of you, a lot of people look up to you as inspiration. Keep up the amazing work!!
@Niall Toner no, you're wrong. Only scared/ignorant people or experts may think like this. No one really knows what covid is, and it's scary actually. You'll learn in time, Niall.
Give over about Covid no one wants to hear it on TheXvid FFS
@Niall Toner I just noticed the comment that got you mad 😆😆 I guessed he MAY have had covid. I don't need to explain myself, but Im very used to seeing PACS (post acute covid syndrome)... it is a chronic and slow burn virus. Some people slowly lose fitness with little else in terms of symptoms.
@Daniel Wilson will your on the sofa eating bom boms calling him fat, I can almost guarantee you haven’t achieved 10% of his success
Seasonal depression 😪, he is a tropical person afterall...
Two thing my boss always says
1 there is no FRIENDS in business when money is involved.
2 prompt payment = prompt service
This is generally the rules to life you forgot to tell people to not talk about your business to much either
Zack Attack true dat.
It always seems to be the ones closest that take liberties
"I have more important things to do" - Goes to fishing and basketball shots. Great editing 😂😂😂
What about the accounts department and the shot goes to a sweat shop in Bangladesh
I actually liked that as personally you look at how much some of the team has supported Daniel it is good to have time to relax together too. Fishing with Terry was great and I’m not a fisherman, but Terry has been such a big help so it is great we have seen him have time to relax and also see Terry become a dad.
It is also great seeing how the team also remember to celebrate birthdays as it is small things like that makes the team members feel valued by their employer.
Love it when Tezza has a wee cameo appearance even if he does look nervous
Fair play Daniel. Anyone in the industry who knows how it works, can see there would be so very little chance of you running non-compliant, particularly given how public you make yourself with your channel. Eyeball any of your videos you never see a tyre with low tread, full time guys in the yard etc watching all this stuff.
Unfortunately with the way the world is, people love to see a fall from grace, some sort of dark side of human nature. I think you offer too much explanation, but I can see why. If people see it rattles you, however, they will always keep trying to poke the bear.
Anyway, often share your videos around for people who want an insight into the industry. Unique channel you have here, keep going 👍🏻
On the highlight of this how’s the HGV drivers at Asheville feeling about the changes in the HighwayCode?
I think goods vehicles and larger vehicles should have right of way over cars. Now they’re being pressed with more responsibility when it’s so much easier to navigate in a car ect. What are your thoughts? I don’t think it’s fair. 👍🏼👍🏼
Wicked comment👊🏻 there are nice people around still
Daniel mate I know exactly how u feel. It’s tough and there’s times when you feel so low but the worst feeling is when you can’t pay creditors due to cash flow issues. I’ve had this 3 years ago when I took on the labour plant and materials of a large housing development and in the end lost almost 300k. I honesty thought I was going to go under and the stress and and anxiety of that I will never forget. And then covid hit and it saved me. Irish government started to spend spend spend on health care and I got 4 big hospitals Groundwork contacts that were very viable. Paid all creditors off in 3 months and grew from 6 excavators and 16 staff to 30 staff and 13 excavators. We’re in a construction boom here at the moment and I never looked back. Lesson learnt. NEVER SUPPLY MATERIALS INTO BIG JOBS
@TheXvidUser if I get 2-3 more year out of it I’ll have everything I own cleared. And there gonna be no crash in that time with the demand for housing, schools, pharma projects that’s ahead. in life there are people that take chances, they may succeed of may not and then there’s those negative begrudges in that background that love to wait for our next doomsday. I’ve been through that but were a country that has learned form our mistakes and in a very strong position with steady economic growth. Cheer up it may never happen.
Be cautious, this time round there’s gonna be a big bust to follow the boom, fair play to you congrats on the success 🍀 but the more men more machines and more liabilities makes you more likely to lose everything in the worst times…
Bang on
Running a business is challenging…….reach out and talk if you need too Daniel…don’t bottle it up. As always huge respect and thanks for the content
Daniel, thanks for sharing your introspection with us, it's partly why I'm hooked on your videos. Stay strong!
Daniel, years ago I worked for a telecoms firm in London. Why do I tell you this? Because we had lots of overdue clients on 60/90/120+ days not paying. Myself and the head of the fraud team went out to these locations on the tube and would return each day with backpacks filled with CASH. No excuses we’re accepted. Warm them if they don’t pay on time you will send it to collections agency and will ultimately fire clients who don’t pay on time or serial offenders. Find out which clients add most to your bottom line and get more of those. The normal distribution is 20% of clients bring 80% of income aka Pareto’s Law. Get more 20% clients and get rid off the 80% who don’t bring much value though they bring more headaches and drama.
If you’re office staff aren’t retrieving that money then you either need to fire them or train them with some scripts etc….and get fucking paid! 🙂
Dan I’m good at getting money back/out of people as you are aware (big bully boy Joseph from back in the day) link me i’ll be your debt collector. ;-)
Another fantastic episode!
My goodness, a proper "window into the soul" moment at the start of the video! Hang in there bro, we're totally rooting for you in these seriously challenging times!
Love your energy, a real inspirational person.
Loving how the yard is looking, properly thought out and liking your vision of connecting both yards.
Thank you and take care my friend, you got this!
Big respect from Mr H up here in the north.
We need more of those talking segments in the beginning. Probably the best thing in the whole video where we see where your head is at, and your overall feelings about the business.
Don't shy away from doing more of those Dan!
Way to go Terry! Getting more confident in front of the camera :D
''your lorries are contaminating the planet..' *throwing the roks*' part is the best one of all the series, ROFL !!! It's just beyond the brilliant! Cracked me up so good ! Best regards from Lithuania :)
The train Offloading montage, is my favorite part of the weekly videos every week! And I watched all 66 episodes. Hats off to the film and editing team!
I love that Dan and Michael have such a good friendship. Michael always looks out for him and all sorts!!
Love going to bed watching these videos, love from Australia
I’ve worked for my dads construction company for 14 years now. I’m now 30. I’ve never related to anything more than your issues and concerns about cash flow. Being paid to be able to pay. It’s a complete frustrating rollercoaster no matter how small or big the firm is. You’re certainly not alone!

Hats off to the film and editing team!
MUCH LOVE FROM THE USA, KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK, BEST part of my week is the new uploads
Congratulations Daniel and the Ashville team, you are #28 on TheXvid trending atm
I've seen the the owners of your site, have put in planning application to redevelop and build a data centre in the future. If this was to go ahead would this mean you would have to move site or would you still be able to stay as I know the rail head is protected (suppose to be anyway)? Fingers crossed its not going to cause you issues!
Daniel did say in last week's video he didn't plan to stay in the same yard forever.
I would imagine it would cost him a small fortune to move yards
Surely must be on a long lease
Much respect Daniel, keep up the amazing work, very proud watching the progress you've made since ep.1
It’s good that you’re keeping it 💯, we all go through theses phases, even the great Daniel Ashville apparently.. every single business owner can relate to you

I’m actually almost lost for words … your energy knows no boundaries! Great work and attention to detail with everything 👏🏻
Dan, coming from a family that watch/ worked with his dad that owned his own company (drywall delivery, or as you call it “plasterboard”) please make sure you keep in mind you run this company to afford the lifestyle you please, don’t let to company run you. You’ve hired great people and put trust into them to do their job. After 15 years my dad growing and scratching he sold his company for a huge profit. It’s going to be the best thing he’s done, he’ll get to enjoy his life again. He’s 65 it’s time to enjoy his life, not let a company stress him all day everyday. We were the biggest independent distributor on the east coast, one of the last ones of any size but the last couple years he learned to trust his people and it made his life much better! Best of luck Dan, always rooting for the little guy!
nice video, nice to see the return of "I'm furious" still makes me laugh, year of transport, LETS GO!!! and hopefully QPR keeper wasn't too badly injured, coming from the world of medic at football matches. Keep it up.
Man, the part where you were struggling with your business is so relatable, this is the first time I feel so demotivated to work but I still am, we are having so many breakdowns even though we have made more than what we made last year already it always comes with expenses and consequences, scalability always comes with a lot of challenges even though I am not in the exact industry as you are ,but I really hope you are able to deal with your challenges Daniel you are seriously a huge inspiration and till date I always have your weeklies playing in my office whenever I am there just to refresh my head.
Hope you have a Great Year Daniel
@David Gilbert yeah no worries, breakdown as in equipment failure, our helpers suffering from covid so lack of manpower to work and most importantly since so many people are getting that the transport prices have increased so our estimations are coming to nearly no profits but in a good way we are happy that our work load has increased quite a lot even in these conditions.
But mind you we aren't the size of Ashville, I own a prefabricated housing, construction and mass manufacturing company so not exactly the same industry but with certain similarities.
Someday I hope to showcase our work as beautifully as Daniel does seriously an inspiration
If you don’t mind me asking, how did you get the breakdown work?

Hi Daniel
Hope your doing ok bro. Your last 2 videos have been raw and honest which as a business owner myself with staff wages etc I find so refreshing cos myself and so many others feel the exact same as you. Wishing you all the best for 2022. PS you will be a great dad whenever that comes to you. Peace
Another great video love also seeing Terry doing some content. Good luck with the new venture with the additional work through the yard and the new projects. It is also a great reminder to viewers that sometimes things will be done like the yard upgrades which you can not go into detail about the reasons why it is being done at the time due to commercially sensitive issues.
Daniel seen someone mention Amazon is this something you have considered as their FBA service seems to work well when I have been the customer.
Also you have three sets of steps in the yard to reach the raised offices and training room just wondering if you have thought of linking the platforms so you and the team can get between the various raised rooms quicker saving time because as we all know in business time is money.
wish Ashville all the best for 2022. Hope Daniel you be more happy this year
Thank you for posting , you are a great motivator , regarding people posting your truck on line , its a compliment at how well you are doing by so many dick heads jealous of your success . keep it up and another great episode .
Damn, 10mins into this video and I feel like Dan is talking to me, we are having all the same issues around accounts and prices increases
I thought the same thing. This episode was extra relatable to me.
Same here
Same here brother
That LH60 operator, has got mad techaz. 💪🏾 👏🏾👏🏾
Fair play to 'Tezza' getting a segment in the episodes now, you gonna make it. 👊 respect
6th volumetric lorry, OMG!!! You had 1 when the vlog started if I remember correctly. Great progress, keep your head up, you got this m8!!!
Chin up Dan, price increase for material have been felt across the board, especially these fuel prices at the moment. For us mate is the Ashville weekly that keeps us pushing forward.
Daniel, thanks for sharing your introspection with us, it's partly why I'm hooked on your videos. Stay strong!
Love the morning speach, you are a big inspiration for me stay blessed and stay motivated I might not be a business man like you but I m fighting 💪 everyday to archive success
Best episode 😂😂😂 the stoning skit was hilarious. Daniel if I ever move up there I must come work for you. Fellow Caribbean here #Trinidadian #Trinidad 🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹🇹
I love stairs with steel spine. We have one all the way up from the basement to the attic. Thick oak steps. And a lift with glass panels in the center. It looks fantastic.
Great video as usual, editing was top notch!
From a fellow haulier, I can see you run decent trucks.
I used to work for an electronics company and we would ship 70-100 packages per day, packing would be done and ready in under an hour and with 3 staff. Key to success was the ergonomics of the space, packing was treated like a production line and the flow of the space meant that time wastage was at a minimum. We literally had one person making the boxes, one picking the items, one packing and the picker would check each box before sealed by the packer. Worked a treat. We were in Wembley and used Night Freight (now DX Freight) who would collect all parcels at 430pm, and all were guaranteed next day delivery. Worth a shout if you're still looking for a solution 👍
11:44 nice to see antistatic precautions being employed here
14:16 congratulations on the deal, sounds highly beneficial
22:55 when will you ditch the combustion engines and go electric, or hydrogen on demand
🤣🤣🤣its the stone throwing for me, thank you Daniel and the team for another great episode🤣🤣
Dan. I love your honesty and I personally enjoy seeing you get through your challenges. More so as I’m a leader in a family business, not everyone can appreciate some of your lessons and sage words! Stay strong brother 💪💪💪
7:08 check stock levels and invoice them for any missing.
Ashville more consistent than TWAY, LA weekly and Being Charlie Sloth
Appreciate everyone at Ashville and thank you Daniel for putting out the content as usual ❤👏
It’s always hard in construction I gave up in the end after more then 30 years of trying, no one wants to pay the right money and you have to pay to much to keep your good workers even paying them when times were slack in the end I said f ..k it I hope you can keep going and things workout for you , your a good man and deserve to win
I think every episode the video team just push the boat out a little further every time with the intros😂😂😂
I'm loving this 2022 attitude man. Can tell its going to be a good year at Ashville!!!
Wow is just taken me 3 weeks to watch Asheville every video on this channel from the first video made to this week ep 66. Wow happy I did. Amazing videos, and as a bonus I outside your yard yesterday morning but the gate as closed.
Wish I did Poppin say hi, get a signed hoodie from Daniel and Terry but never mind.
Keep up the hard work.
😂😂😂 the “stoning” sketch was well funny. Interesting to see how people start chatting when they don’t know the facts. Great video. I watch it every Sunday 👍
One door closes and another one opens, well done Dan for shifting all the material
Dan just a thought but I think your best bet is to just sell on Amazon.
They will deliver and will get it right
Yeah using FBA would make so much more sense
34:26 you can see daylight through the bucket on the loading shovel
The stone throwing was hilarious 👏🏼😂
good to see the basement, client must be confident if they're going to have a high end fit out like that! Not just a deep freezer down there lol
The stone throwing 😂😂😂 always supporting Ashville 💯👊🏾
It was hilarious 😂
Another great episode Daniel , Thank-you for sharing star-ceiling all the way 🤩
lovely sunday when you get the weekly ep and dan i loved the dramatic cutaway for the stoning skit perfect 10/10 acting
You are something else daniel, everytime I watch your videos it brings me joy not only that but you even give great advises aswel. Made me laugh with the stones thrown at you too funny. Keep up the good work bro love what you're doing😁👍🏽
Man put his life on the line for that last save. Absolute legend.
The “innocent” but amazingly hidden intro 😂😂😂
Huge respect for you and your business!! Built it up to what it is from scratch, and still dedicating your hours to the cause. Always on the grind, love ashville
Sunday habit: watching the most inspirational chap lead us through the trials and tribulations of his life. You’re up, that’s it, crack on. 👊👊👊 #SEEERIOUS
Ay Daniel did you notice when the train was leaving the yard we got vision into a carriage or two how much agg was left because the grab loader was unable to reach being a square box,,, maybe a few ton was left behind 🤔££££🤔 might be worth a look for the next train 👍👍KEEP ON TRUCKINGGOOD
Daniel, Hello from the Land Down Under, Two things. First. As of Watching this at 8:13PM in Brisbane, The end title cards are not active. Two. For your NAS, RAID is not a backup. Like on your Trucks Redundancy is not perfect. If you blow a tire on the drive you are not going to continue to run the truck like that, you need to take it off the road to get it repaired which you need another truck to take its place or run with no truck. With any data, even cloud data. BACK UP YOUR DATA. As an IT Guy it is incredibly hard to tell people there data is gone, they get upset and ask why did you not prevent this. PLEASE Back up your data. This does not only apply to local data, even you cloud systems. Google, Microsoft, Apple, Dropbox, most of the other Cloud Providers no not explicitly back up your data, especially if you are the one at fault for the loss of data in the first place weather though malware/ransomware or human malicious intent or neglect. I Look forward to see what comes in 2022, Best of Luck. Michael
Great video. Running a business is about making money, building relationships and getting paid. If you are not doing this, running potential customers credit history to get an idea about them paying on time may help. Also placing a lien on the property where the product was delivered to and the customers property to receive on time payments. If the laws in the UK allow that. You have a great team that work hard. People have to understand price increases are occurring every where and businesses are going to pass it on the customers. That is the nature of business. Customers have to make a choice to get on board or get off the train. Amazon is an option for package delivery.
Yea I was winding why he did put a lien on the properties that don’t pay
Love your videos , "Its Show Buisiness not Show Friends!! " They only pay late once. Plenty of good customers who pay on the nail out there, the rest can go.
Keep up the good work
Loving the SERIOUS intro's. Next week it will be a full on UK Garage section!
Stay positive brother your smashing it just remember stay positive while you facing difficulties
Daniel I’m 21 passed my theory and hazard perception test. Waiting to do my CPC next week any advice as this test seems to be a bit trickier? Class 2 btw. Cheers 👍🏻
The bit when you’re throwing stones-I’ve never laughed so much! Feel your pain Daniel.
Watching the video of the train unloading I was thinking wouldn't it be cool if you could have some kind of overhead suction system to suck the material out of the carriages and into the bays that way you would get every drop of material out of the carriages eliminating any waste. A bit like those lorry's with the suction hose on the back for excavating around pipes and cables. Probably would cost a lot but would be cool.
Daniel is a serious businessman 👏🏾👏🏾
A man dedicated as you deserves the best of luck such a hard worker
7:08 check stock levels and invoice them for any missing.
I think you need to train your costumers to pay on time and introduce a person to your customers so it’s not just a voice option on the phone
These intro montages are incredible 🤣🤣
Well done Daniel - inspirational for many young budding entrepreneurs and it’s great to see your honesty. Please don’t worry, you are not alone and you are strong and will get through this as you are a people person who cares about others. You will come through and things that are tough just make you stronger !!
24:34 That was very satisfying to hear. And the way Daniel says it makes it better.
I absolutely love your TheXvid content!!. Keep up the good work Daniel 👍🏻
Dani I love the videos mate, great work..👏🏻👏🏻
My other half every Sunday morning says “ here we go again another Ashville why you love this so much” she doesn’t know and never will.. ✌🏼
Waiting for payment from companies whilst watching this and it really hits home. The margins from receiving to paying are super tight !
You reminded me of good ole days when i had a subwoofer in the boot and 6x9s in the back. All that bass🤣👌The yard has really come on and hopefully will become more productive and easier to manage from now on.Cheers Dan 👍🇮🇪
Keep going Daniel.. all good man, you rock!
7:08 check stock levels and invoice them for any missing.
I love ashville weekly. I watched every episode but I think that Ashville weekly is now full of montages instead of actual video ik that Daniel is serious on his business but his loosing his interest on the youtube side
Whatever new procedures have been put in place its certainly working another early Sunday morning upload Whoop Whoop
What do you expect from an accounts dept staffed with sewing machines !! Keep the videos coming, more QPR!
Have to get Charlie Austin to say “shout out ashville” when he is on talkSPORT in the afternoons at the moment 😂👍🏻
from a guy from new jersey I love watching this daniel and group. Lots of fun
Daniel.
It still amazes me that so many jump to conclusions. I follow you and anyone who did, would instantly understand that Ashville don’t operate in this manner. In my opinion.
Good luck for 2022.
Another fantastic video!!!
Good content, keep on doing what you are good at Dan!!
Training room be like a hot box in summer time with been black even with air conditioning in 🥵but nice job hope this year is a good one for you all 👍
Dont let the bastards get you down bro.
You are an inspiration to many and great leader.
