I know you will never see this because the video isn't that new but I am going to say it anyway. In this day and age keeping a marriage going for over 10 years is impressive in itself. You two have done it with 3 kids, started a company which is extremely stressful and you are in the public eye. I wouldn't say "famous", but for sure in the public eye. All of these are huge stressors that could destroy a relationship. You have my admiration for doing it and I wish you continued success in everything you do. I am in my 50's with three kids and been through a divorce and another long term relationship that ended. I know how hard it is. Whatever you are doing, keep doing it.

I think a good mix of "Follower" employees and "Creative" employees provides optimal results.
Just like there are times where that creative employee can absolutely shine, having a number of predictable, reliable employees to farm off more (seemingly) menial tasks to can free up those creative employees to keep them working at their best.
Diversity goes much deeper than race and gender (both of which are merely skin deep). Work habits, talents, sociability, methodology, all factor into the work environment. Best person for a given role and all.

LOL @1:08:00 I totally feel you bro... I quit programming around the same time I started smoking weed. I still hop into my old project every now and then, but I haven't gone back "full time". For a long ass time after a bad trip on 7 hits of acid, I was scared to even open up my IDE because I was afraid to find out just how many neurons got fried.
I know some people can code on weed just fine, so why can't I? I've thought about this a lot and my best conclusion is that it depends on WHY you smoke. Are you smoking to ESCAPE reality or to COMPLEMENT it? If you're escaping, well, you're leaving the good things behind too, including your treasured hobbies.
If you're talking about something like coke or heroin... well get off that shit ._.

8:21 God even Linus tech tips is trying to adopt the social justice narratives. YOU SHOULDN'T CARE ABOUT HOW MANY WOMEN OR MINORITIES YOU HIRE. Just hire people who are competent. If that happens to be minorities or women who apply, great, they should be treated the same regardless of sex or race. Companies shouldn't be trying hard to hire specific genders or races. That is sexist and or racist. Like oh we can't hire a white male because then we're not being inclusive. As if minorities and women need extra effort or help. If women don't apply to your job then just don't worry about it and let the free market take care of it. I know you're not saying this explicitly, but its definitely the message thats being conveyed.

We've seen that gamers in future will use servers for hardware gaming and not home rigs. It will be much cheaper for an average gamer, but also will glue him to the cloud crunching those shaders and cpu time. Now we all love to make our own pc's but face it. New kids won't give a damn about that at all. They'll use the next best thing and I doubt it will be pc gaming. VR gaming is coming, a bit creeping around and all the equipment in the world, including boxes, tv-s and even cell phones will die eventually. World is gonna evolve with new experience of gaming. Now, there will be a sort of high consumption for nausia that you get from 12 hour gaming on a vr headset, and that is where the money is...from pills and meds. Mark my comment when Linus starts showcasing allowed meds for that sh//t.

Low level competitive when you aren't on top. In other words you won't quit playing because you aren't the best. But if you do get a high ranking you probably make sure others know about it also while at the same time are consigned to knowing that "this too shall pass." A realist in other words, and why am I commenting so much tonight? It's NEW YEAR'S EVE!
    WT actual F ?!?!?!?!?!!

  • Matthew Weatherman
    Matthew Weatherman 6 months ago

Here's another NO NO NO NO and NO! People use chemicals because it feels good. Those who do not use these illicit substances frown upon such activities and becomes "ashamed" of the other person's behavior. The "other person" having a vested interest in the opinion of the of the observer then personalizes that shame and feels shameful right after having a positive reinforcing feeling from the chemical they'd just discovered. Now we have two opposing aggressive energies in conflict. So the "chemicalized" (my own word) person, being somewhat in doubt about something they've experienced themselves feels the need to "give it another try" to make sure their feelings were right. What's actually happened is that the person who is going to become chemically dependent has been told that their actual physical experience is worthless and they should feel the "observer's" shame, which they almost without variation incorporate into who they are.
Here's the cure but it comes at a price
Its not MY shame, it's YOURS. I am not going to bear YOUR shame for MY experience. While it's not socially acceptable to be a dope fiend, I know and have worked with a number of dope fiends who are beyond "just competent" in earning their wage. They've pretty much cut ties with those who would look down on them for doing something that feels good. They know the price both socially and financially that their entertainment or being okay in the world costs and are willing to pay.
Here's a thought; Without those "dope fiends" what do you think you'd be listening to on the radio? Would you even HAVE a radio?
Like Linus just said, "DO YOUR OWN THING."
(I just say that you might not want to advertise what that "thing" might be unless you can turn off that "give a shit" portion about other people's opinions.)

  • Matthew Weatherman
    Matthew Weatherman 6 months ago

NO NO NO NO NO NO!!!! "If it's hard because you're old" is not a thing ANYONE says. Its usually "if it's NOT hard it's because you're old."
I am of course talking about the real "IT" (y'know the "IT" you "DO") which has absolutely nothing yet entirely everything to do with having children.
    I'm just saying.......

Major turnoffs to 'cop to' starting new hires on "very low wages". If they are getting shares on profit generation or are wholly unskilled/inexperienced (0 months paid experience) entry level that would be one thing but those qualifiers were conspicuously absent, given the 'your work should be something you'd be willing to do despite not making a living wage because you love doing that thing and have a passion for it' follow up; will demonstrate the hypocrisy of this later. Juxtaposed to the sentiment of needing to take all the spotlight and we arrive to a business practice Ayn Rand would be proud of. It's remarkably privileged and self-important to have maintained such a business world view from a prior company.... that went bankrupt. And you clearly need to meet a lot more TheXvid 'stars' if you believe you're all cut from the same cloth. Quite a lot of them that either learn to edit and do it themselves or pay handsomely for professional staff. Buzz Feed editors and graphics designers don't start out needing to share studio apartments and I'm betting Jayz' don't either. Was a long time watcher - but I'm realizing you both sort of do treat the people that made you successful and wealthy (because you CLEARLY could not have done it on your own without editing, camera, lighting, streaming, and production skills you admit you don't have) as something less than... can't support that self-indulgent amorality. If it's something you clearly love and have passion and fun doing - then it should never be a problem to also pay a living salary to people who also have a passion to create and want to have that fun with you.

I have had no help from youtube or any reps from TheXvid etc since I joined, When TheXvid changed their Algorithm back in 2011 and I complained that my views had dropped even though I had the same subscribers and was not getting less subs, TheXvid reps, they didnt care to look into it because they new they were the cause of the problem. Google has fixed how and what people view, nothing is organically viewed, me and many others have essentially been forgotten. TheXvid - Google toke the excitement and passion out of me!

All I want to say is, Thank you! To whole LMG team for being you and keeping the passion of tech and concern for all people related to tech; in this day and age it's very common to see people handling fame to commercialize themselves as a priority to earn more. LMG is very unique and it's because the principles that Yvonne and You adhere to- "passion before self and employees before boss". Thanks! for being honest with your opinions, reviews and experiences; whereas at this point in LMG's career it's easy to fall prey to temptations at the expense of sabotaging audience. No matter what, I believe this community will always be there for LMG and Vice -versa. So, Thank you very much Linus,Yvonne,Luke etc. and the whole LMG team for remaining sane yet providing top-notch production content(legit goddamn wayy best than huge tech media companies).
