As a Linux user, if you made a video about how Linux has "crashed for gaming," I'd basically be telling you "Please don't say that. People clearly listen to you, and Linux support has only just begun and I'm really trying to fix my computer so I can take advantage of it. Please don't kill it again."

Considering what retail space goes for in small businesses I can imagine a few months rent would add up to a huge amount for a company like NCIX was. It's interesting.. Living here in Calgary we rarely dealt with them as MemX price matched competitively … you'd only consider NCIX if it's something you couldn't get locally. When they went out of business it might not have been a surprise to the industry but it certainly was to customers. It's a bit of a shame (altho I am sure Newegg and memx are quite ok with it..)

I can't imagine what Jordan Peterson did that could get him banned from bank processing.
He's said a few things where I went "you ass!" But a few character or personality issues shouldn't be enough to get you banned from bank processing. He says one thing to liberal interviewers and the opposite to right wing audiences (telling some that Trump is dangerous, an authoritarian, a proto-fascist, and others that he would vote for Trump)... He promotes a very paranoid view of everyone who isn't on the right (transgender activists are equivalent to Stalin, THINK OF THE GULAG AND PURGES HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS DEAD!) - but you know that kind of despicable behavior would make him an average Republican.

So what about it guys those that want to stream will need a Threadripper powered PC with BeOS R5 80586 Professional and UltraDV installed to be able to edit video or stream live.
CastAR would have been better than the VR stuff.

LTT just doesn't know how to admit when they're wrong do they? this is the second time now (the thunderfoot issue some weeks ago being the first i remember), ok so you were technically right saying "vr crashed" but the point is the video was not clear, like you say here "vr is here to stay but it isn't growing like it was expected to", the video didn't get that across at all, it looked only from the "its all doom and gloom" point of view and didn't put enough effort into the other side of the story which is that although its growing slowly (compared to expectations), it is growing and seems like it will continue to.

Um... so... i went to the link you said to go to luke at the 432 seconds timestamp in this video...went where that told me to go, but there no subscription showing there to cancel/migrate...
so i doublechecked the floatplane site and my subscription and invoices do show up there...
does that mean you all already migrated me and i dont have to do anything?
also, site continues to look great so far.
also when will the google connection/sign in option stop being greyed out? you have that newfangled discord thingy enabled to connect to the floatplane site but not google for some reason?
so frustrating people always link to facebook or twitter or now this strange discord thingy none of which i use
and no one ever links to google google plus google hangouts yahoo messenger or email back when i used that ((strangely around the time yahoo had its breach and was bought by verizon suddenly some websites were offereing it as a connection option instead of when it was actually still used and popular...i guess bc of the weird newfangled yahoo account key thing i dont understand very well or something)) but yeah i like those and msn, and i use steam bc of you all using steam and my friend pushing it at around the same time. also use skype and have a microsoft account. those would make sense to add. the tech industry may like apple and paypal and facebook and twitter to death but most people i know dont use any of those or care much really.

I love Jordan Peterson. He is simply a person who thinks logically. I simply can't listen to people that don't understand that. Please don't let me find out you actually support crap like gender pronouns and compelled speech. Peterson has stated he was working on a platform of his own for years and had been trying to find developers out there to build it. He really just has always wanted a platform for Online Video Universities.
And obviously Netflix is HEAVILY on AWS. They have a massive contract between them and have done presentations at conferences on what they do (massive container scaling and the tools they've developed).
Also, Microsoft has "Stream" now on the consumer side. Currently no public video ability just company internal videos. But has really cool features like face recognition, transcription with search, etc. Actually pretty damn nice.

So the real question is why was NCIX even bothering storing CC, SSN, etc on there onsite web servers? That's why companies use a payment processor. I could see having employee/ex-employee data filed away on your company onsite storage. But customers? Because there really isn't any law to protect your name, address, etc. even though I know people feel like there is. In the USA you have laws like PCI DSS, HIPAA, State Breach laws, etc but that wouldn't fit this case unless they hold credit card info. GDPR is only an EU regulation to date and I don't think NCIX sold or operated in the EU.
Sounds like the landlord has some legal issues ahead of himself. I don't see how you can actually blame NCIX, the data wasn't breached when the company existed and they were securing it. The company handling the bankruptcy failed to properly handle the assets they seized and the landlord appears to have illegally tried to sell those assets.

Jordan B Peterson's attempt for the intellectual dark web (IDW) to diversify income streams will speak, and be known to, a completely different audience than who may be using your platform....and likely for slightly different reasons too. Both will exist easily together, and should not be viewed as a competitor.
A very positive development for fighting censorship and corporate control, especially as corporations continue to exercise "discretion" interpreting constitutional rights (such as free speech) to the encouragement of political actors. BTW, this is nearly a perfect contemporary example of fascism unfolding - and the fight against it - with modern technology. Neat.

Have you guys played Contractors VR yet? Spend 30 minutes in that and tell me VR is not doing so good. These little Dev teams are putting out better games IMHO than most AAA game companies out there. Contractors in Early Access reminds me of Ghost Recon Future Soldier which was a great success and put out by Ubisoft. Problem with VR (which I dont hear people talking about much) is that not many people know about it. What percentage of US you think have tried Vive or Rift VR? Probably 2% or less. Thats the problem. If people knew it existed they wouldnt mind shelling out the money. If people want something...they will find a way to get it.
EDIT - Dude I laughed when his partner on the show said his ceiling is too low to put VR in his house? Umm my 3 sensors are 40" off the ground and I love my tracking. I dont think I reached over my head once and my ceiling is 8ft high and I am 6'2". So these idiots are reviewing and making predictions and the one guy doesnt even own VR? Linus never mentions any other VR title but BoxVR and Beat Saber making it sound like thats all he ever played? WTF. I never knew who he was before but I will steer clear of everything he says in the future.

I still think we need a better resolution like vive 2 for oculus but can gpus run a better resolution vr device ? you can run an oculus easy with a 1080ti and a 6c/12t cpu no problem.

comparing percentage of steam linux users and steam VR users is NOT fair.
Linux can be run on almost 100% of the devices running steam.
Steam PCs that are VR compatible numbers to less than 5% of all devices running steam, and that might be an overstatement.
If you compare the percentage of VR capable steam PCs that uses VR to the the percentage of Linux capable steam PCs that run Linux, THAT would be a fair comparison.
Not to mention, PSVR sales may very well have exceeded 4 million

You fancy yourself "neutral" but holding freedom of expression as a value is in itself, political. And trust me, the would-be architects of our better tomorrows do not consider neutrality. For them the choice is binary - either you subscribe wholesale to their modern secular religion, or you are their enemy. And that is on top of the Progressive Holy Writ not taking too kindly to such ideas like "freedom of expression". So you may think you skate around "divisive" issues with nuance, but not only will you not appease the far-left zealots (whose ideology is what underpins the actions of payment processors, although that possibly may not be for the sake of the ideology itself), you will just come across as spineless to the rest by calling the neo-marxist rejection of the entirety of western civilization "divisive" or "controversial"/

My problem with VR is controls, where controller input collides with HMD position. The only "cheap" application (as in just an Oculus/Vive without 1000+ extra equipment and safe space) is what I bought it for: simracing. Basically where your character is tied to a chair (also flightsim, spacesim, mech battle). Any other applications I see as show-offs/demos. I wonder how many of those .4% use it for driving/flight sims.

reading text in VR... oh god, pls2hlp
but yeah, VR only happens in my living room, but it takes too much to play. the space requirement is a real issue. My den isn't big enough for room scale, I want to play seated VR for Elite Dangerous but then I have to move lighthouses up stairs and back downstairs and moving my PC is getting a little ridiculous. Vive needs to produce a legit KVM for dual HDMI and USB over ethernet. One HDMI for a TV, One for Vive, and a USB for Vive. If it's USB 3.1 people can do a USB usb hub on the other side for added mouse and keyboard support. KVMs that exist have much more than what you need, and running multiple HDMI cables through the house is ridiculous. I already have Ethernet from my den to the living room and I wouldn't mind switching the internet connection to a KVM on both sides, but if they could produce software equivalent using steam link or something similar that would be fantastic.

I also have DHS. I was on holiday as a 5 year old and was told not to jump into a swimming pool by my Dad. I went to jump in anyway and my neighbour who was on holiday with us, panicked and as I jumped, she grabbed my ankles in an attempt to stop me. Swung down full pelt and smashed my face on the side of the pool. Cracked my head open and long story short, I've seen my own brain in the stainless steel measuring implement they had next to the Xray table.
