I think don't think Netflix are trying to position themselves as premium, schlock or trying to find its right audience or niche. I think they want to throw as big a net as possible as fast as possible and just tie as much original content as possible to them before all of the approaching competition have fully mobilized themselves. I don't think they mind being a dumping ground, they just want all of it, including premium HBO-style shows, Oscar movies, blockbuster movies, Adam Sandler garbage, Syfy crap - etcetcetc...
Also - Mike - making middling motion pictures isn't a scam.

Maybe they'll do a George Lucas move and release an "Enhanced" version of the original Cloverfield with added scenes of protesters of military buildups, and maybe a few CGI creatures farting too!

    Event Horizon re:view, when?
Mike just needs to have a "BS about Star Trek" series, and Jay needs a "BS about mind bending classic horror movies" series. It could be single series where they each do one, actually, doesn't even matter.

All "10 Cloverfield Lane" was exactly the movie it always was. All they did was rename the monsters to be the Cloverfield ones.

Wouldn't it make more sense to blow up the voyager that had the full crew?
It'd be a better dilema if each voyager had a death and you had to choose which one to blow up depending on which one will be from another universe.

  • Sammy Matyas

The movie is shit... but as far as the release goes, same with 10 cloverfield lane, there's like these massive AR games where they hide clue to the stories and universe on websites and stuff that people have to dig up meta data from images, and solve riddles and figure out passwords and stuff... So the whole cloverfield universe sorta exists in this obscure game on the internet and the movies are almost just pieces in that game. Watching this review and reading these comments I'm kinda surprised more people aren't aware of this. If you aren't aware of it, you should look it up, it's actually really interesting.

Didn’t like the movie. The first two were a lot better; I would have preferred a sequel to 10 cloverfield lane. But it was smart of them to release it right after the Super Bowl and have them play a commercial.

what would be interesting. If Gugu character would have a dead family in one dimension and she would be dead in the other dimension. And she could go back, but the twist is that they are already moved (as far as you can when your mother or wife dies) on and she would be a reset for them. I would like to see what would happen then.

I like these videos, but I don’t understand the dislike for cinemas. Are there no decent cinemas near you? I live in Nottingham, UK and we have two really good, independent cinemas. Seeing a film in the cinema is often a different experience to watching it at home.

The cloverfield paradox got me so fucking mad because the entire online ARG mystery behind the cloverfield monster was so fucking intriguing.
Involving shady the Tagruato company and the massive web of clues around it had loads of us going full Charlie "pepe silvia" on the internet.
Instead it was all "fucking wormhole space magic" wrapped up in a huge fucking rip off of Event Horizon and The Mist
