hey mannnnnn, I've seen you reference Creepshow once or twice. I believe that was a pretty good anthology series made for the movies. Just corny enough to be fun, an dark enough to give me nightmares as a kid haha.

The only difference between direct to video & direct to netflix, is that netflix has a ton of fantastic tv series that are way better than the garbage coming out of hollywood cesspool.

I like these videos, but I don’t understand the dislike for cinemas. Are there no decent cinemas near you? I live in Nottingham, UK and we have two really good, independent cinemas. Seeing a film in the cinema is often a different experience to watching it at home.

In comparison to Siskel & Ebert, this HitB show is not complete shit. I'm glad this show is not about sugarcoating some paper-thin opinions with a lot of wordly bullshit. Kudos, dudes. I'm glad Mike and Jay are not just two dry dudes in matching suits. This show feels real and it has casual humour. Everyone else is so fake and serious these days.

The cloverfield paradox got me so fucking mad because the entire online ARG mystery behind the cloverfield monster was so fucking intriguing.
Involving shady the Tagruato company and the massive web of clues around it had loads of us going full Charlie "pepe silvia" on the internet.
Instead it was all "fucking wormhole space magic" wrapped up in a huge fucking rip off of Event Horizon and The Mist

Everybody is better off and can use magic, but you're not in your own world, and you're an asshole who has the most powerful clan in Ivalice and you're dragging them all back whether they like it or not.. Your cripple brother will be crippled again, the poor loser will be a poor loser instead of a prince again, and the pretty redhead who leads a clan of women will go back to dying her hair red and being an outcast. And they're gonna like it or you'll kill 'em in the Jagdlands.

JJ Abrams and M. Night Shaymalan are the biggest scam directors/producers out there. His whole mystery box thing is pure marketing. There is nothing ever in the box. It's like an old PT Barnum grift. Yeah it's making him millions but it has no substance.

  • David H

I think legally, under monopoly mandates, Disney CAN'T own theaters. It has to do with producers not being allowed to also run distribution or something along those lines (like how Netflix wouldn't be allowed to own their own internet service to sell their video service.)

I don't think it is fair to judge Netflix by two movies that weren't made for Netflix as you guys pointed out. They were movies made presumably for theaters and when they test screened and saw the projection to fail in theaters they went straight to Netflix which proved to be a good move financially. Netflix letting bad movies on their service doesn't mean that the ones they create will be bad.
I don't really care about Netflix, it just seems like a logical fallacy you guys are making. I assume that Netflix will likely be the straight to video dumping grounds. It also has potential as you guys have previously stated, to let more original ideas get made into movies. Overall I think it couldn't hurt the movie industry and could only help, even if it's minuscule in it's benefit.
