    I think his technique was just as impressive or more impressive than the actual throw. I haven't ever seen it so up close so it really amazes me that people use that kind of footwork to throw the ball the way they do. And he did it with such ease.

      Look at physics. If I give you a bucket with 10 liter of water and told you to throw the bucket and contents as far as possible. From a static position you might get maybe 3 meters.
      Now comes the physics. With the spinning, you are building inertia. Remember the saying "an object in motion remains in motion until (unless) acted upon it by an external force". The centrifugal force will give inertia. Will also keep the mass (water) trapped in the bucket longer. The throw is the release of that energy. Gravity is the external force.
