Howto & Style
I never thought I would be so invested in the story of a lobster but here I am
Lmao yooo same...i was looking for the follow up on Leon
Lmao same
Same here man
Same. I was amazed to learn that lobsters groom their eyes from the first Leon vid.
Same! Haha
I was actually happy to see Leon fight back when you were trying to scoop him with fish net. When you first brought him from the grocery store in a paper box, his eyes were pretty much dead. He didnβt flinch, move, or try to defend himself even when you cut the robber band. It was obvious he had no hope, just quietly waiting for his demise. Now his eyes show so much emotions and vigor. You made him want to live life again. Now he wants to fight and defend himself when he thought you were trying to trap him (you could literally see the anger and betrayal in his eyes he looked so upset π ) he is so so much more than just a menu on a dinner plate. Iβm glad you found him.
Lobsters don't have emotions
This describes my feelings about elderly people in aged care facilities so well. I love the ones that argue, because they haven't given up on life yet π
Yeah I'm deadly sure he wants to life again for 30 years in a small tank. How wonderful. Now he can turn around, and... Yeah that's pretty much it. But I'm sure he loves his life.
I'm not crying you're crying...
Dang, he's living his best life going from being in a store to getting a huge expensive tank purchased just for him. He's lucky to have found such an awesome caretaker
@Lucaz get therapy bro
@Lucaz Yes, but what is the alternative? To be boiled alive and eaten? Life is not perfect and life is not always fair for any creature. Life can be very difficult for those not at the top of the food chain, and life is not always easy for those who are. You could set Leon free in the ocean, but two minutes later he could be attacked and eaten by an octopus.
damn heΒ΄s so lucky to have a new prison! WTF
This comment put smile on my face ngl
This series is absolutely wonderful. I love watching Leon become more comfortable. His color definitely looks better. And it was fun to meet your other pets (love your cats!)
The music was calming and your narration is such a joy to listen to! I definitely chuckled multiple times. I think this whole journey evokes a sense of childhood wonder and brings back memories of playing as a kid. I'm back to storytime from when I was young, and I'm all for it. Thank you Mr Brandwood!
And to Kamikoto knives for sponsoring - I'm definitely going to check them out.
@Anxiety!Austin Sanders no, he meant for gore
@Brady Brandwood you got a new subscriber :)
@Brady Brandwood I want to thank you for your dedication to Leon because it makes people think about the small things that change the world. I really like he unique idea and it is so simple that anyone can do it. Respect for you and people like you.

Imagine being Leon, seeing this seemingly impenetrable forcefield trying to abduct you out of your new home and into the sky getting closer and closer while doing your best to fight it with your claws. Then get reintroduced to a familiar atmosphere to your previous home. But slowly realizing that this is not your previous home but an entirely new planet from his perspective. That's already populated with it's own fish and plant life.
11:49 song?
@Kyle I'm definitely a fan. Good to see Leon thriving and fighting back
@Kyle π
For Leon, when the net came down, he was probably like "NO NO, NOT AGAIN"
I don't know why I saw the video title and thought Leon went to a foster home π
Lol I thought the same π€£
Yeah me 2, i thought oh no, but then got Very happy when i saw that Leon was just upgrated π
Me 2 , i was gutted pmsl π
@boh official Same

My lobster always loved cherry tomatoes, they usually sink and he would hold them and munch.
@sweetbeamie09 Silence Troll
@Spring is in The Air πΊπΈ Don't ask asinine questions.
Did you eat your lobster in the end?
that's very sweet π
I really like these videos about Leon. Youβre like, βhi want to be friends?β
And heβs like βNo, not reallyβ
But then youβre like, βtoo bad we are best fiends now and I got you a new home!β
And heβs like βok I guess this is better than being cooked and eatenβ
He is doing so much better now than when you brought him home. He couldn't even lift his claws. Looked like a wet rag. Now look at him! Kudos to you for your excellent care and attention to detail with his home.
Saving one lobster won't change the world. But for that one lobster, his world is forever changed.
@joejoe1403 right, the ending was beautiful
The ending of this comment made me very emotional.
In an internet world that can be so depressing and gross, this is the wholesomeness we didnβt know we needed. My heart! Thank you for sharing!
9:00 it was so sad watching Leon struggle to get away from the net. It shows that lobsters are truly intelligent and remember their past. Iβm so glad he has a good home now!
seeing your Kings of Leon shirt in the reflection of the tank at 7:05 made me laugh! very glad to see youβre both doing well. i love your videos! π¦π¦
14:31 I like how one of the fish are basically going βyeah, thatβs rightβ in Leonβs face.
π
Loool
I never imagined myself being interested in a lobster except for lunch or dinner but here I am. My curiosity got the better of me and now I canβt wait or the next update on Leo. I donβt think I will ever look at a lobster the same way again, much less eat it. Thank you for taking care of Leo and I hope you wonβt get tired of making life for him, a happy and stress-free one.
Leon updates make my day!!
It think the narration really helps, his voice is relaxing
Like seriously.
@Brian Cossaboom dontcha just love him π
Just started the Leon journey...can't wait for the next video
I love Leon!!!! I am very emotionally invested in this lobster. Iβve never eaten lobster in my life, now I donβt think I ever can now. I hope Leon gets all the love he deserves heβs a fighter.
I'm really happy that you got a sponsor! I can't even imagine how expensive that tank was!
Thank you for inspiring me to adopt a grocery store lobster, I've always had an intense hatred of lobsters as food, but seeing a "food" animal being nursed back to health and becoming a lively and loveable pet. It really makes me appreciate aquarium owners who rescue critters who are surrounded by misinformation and show the world how great they actually are.
I live in Maine and have never had a positive experience eating lobster but it's such a staple of the culture, and I can finally see the good in these big guys. After doing a lot of research and setting up the perfect tank, I'm going to adopt a Maine lobster from Hannaford.
(Important spiteful detail) Hannaford is a store that I hold a specific grudge against, it's pretty specific to Maine and we have very lax alcohol laws so almost every shelf in the store has alcohol. I'm going to adopt my lobster with my sober friend, so we can spite the shitty store that we can't go shopping in without having to dodge and weave aisles and aisles of alcohol. They also always have a full tank of lobsters
From NY and have Hannafords here too. I go there because it's cheaper but even so the prices are rising. Anyway congratulations on saving a lobster! As much as I would like to I could never handle the responsibility and costs. Hope they are doing well π
Thatβs so cool! Howβs the lobster doing now? :)
The cat might be Leon's biggest fan. She's always watching, invested in his goings on.
I am so emotionally invested in the life of this lobster. You're a champion Leon
HE'S A CHAMPION!
he is a psychopath , imprisoning a lobster . whats wrong with you ? seriously i dont want to be rude or offend you ..just think about it.
Me too!!!!!! I love Leon!
When he gonna eat that damn lobster already?π©π«π€€π€€ yummy that's what I been waiting for
I just about lost it when Leon picked up that pea. So precious.
I read somewhere that lobsters can live 100 years. Wishing you and Leon a long happy healthy life!
@James Orr holy shit
A few years ago the New York Times reported on one that was so large, it was thought to have been alive when the Constitutional Convention was called, in 1789.
Dude. This series of life with Leon is so f*cking heartwarming.
We need more of this.
This series was actually very healing, keep up the good work man, you're being the change that needs to happen in the world
Such pure content.
@Marx Stirner So, you're okay with lobsters slowly dying in aggregate at the grocery store?
I worked in one some years ago, I know they don't feed them in those tanks nor do they all get sold off as food before dying. Pending the economic means of the area the store serves, I can say with relative certainty that most don't make it to the steamers.
@Scarlet Letter death would be much less cruel than a life alone in a tiny cell
@Marx Stirner uh, you know this lobster was originally caught for food, right?
lobsters are about as intelligent as a cat. Imagine keeping a cat in similar conditions? This animal is being tortured for views. This creature can live for 100+ years
its so nice to see him in such a good mood. when you first met him he didnt even put up a fight when you took him out of the box. now he wants to be alive. so precious :)
when moving a lobster, just grab his back. although lobster pincers can hurt, their strength is vastly exaggerated. they 100% cannot cut your fingers off, they even have a hard time breaking skin, unless they get you just right. your biggest enemy when handling lobsters is hesitation.
When leon was finally just chilling in the net he looked absolutely adorable
Before watching Leon, I never thought Iβd refer to a lobster as cute, but Leon is absolutely adorable!
This may have been the only time in my life where I actually sat down and watched through a paid sponsorship. Youβre a great content creator.
Totally didnβt bother me either in this video. Was actually cheering for him getting some financial help ππ
Same. If this knife company has helped Leon thrive, Iβm happy to watch their advert portion. Leon has sponsorships like a race car driver. So cute. Bonus: I learned koi like watermelon.
If you liked that you should watch internet comment etiquette.
@Daniel R This is misleading and I just researched to see what is true and what isn't. It is true that they are made in China, but from Japanese steel. They are thicker and heavier than Japanese knives as a result. Additionally, the price is intentionally inflated but it's really common to get them for as much as half-off. The consensus is the price tag and focus on the Japanese origin of the brand both seem to be marketing ploys. The price tag makes them seem more valuable and desirable to get people to want to buy them on sale, while the focus on their Japanese methods made from Japanese steel built from a Japanese legacy seems to be a means of separating the knives from the negative connotations of being made in China. The general agreement is that they barely eck by as worth the price at full, but if you can get them half off, that's the ideal (but any deal for them seems worth it). The knives are NOT cheaply made and seem to be great for people who like having something that is both aesthetic and practical. The biggest drawback to them is their price-tag, but from multiple sources I can find, their quality is akin to other high-end knife brands like Shun. You may need a whetstone, however, as some people seem to be reporting the Nakiri knife needing reprofiled, but otherwise the knives seem to maintain their durability and edge for quite a while.
Basically, what you're saying's not blatantly false, but you're painting a more negative picture than it really should be. They are good high-end knives, but not the best. Though they seem to be good for their effective price. Most people who get them would do so just for the name-brand association though.
I even opened the link... don't need knives now, but they look great.
i know exactly how he felt when he was trying to get leon to the new tank its like trying to get my birds at home get into their cage
This lobster is so cute, now that's a sentence I never thought I would say π€

Iβm mad over Leon.
I love that youβve adopted each other and I thoroughly enjoy watching & listening to the story.
Maybe a childrenβs book is in order.
Yes for sure. Leon now has a literary agent and has written a childrenβs book. βοΈβοΈβοΈπ¦

@Sphenixity aw thank you.. its my dog when she was a puppy. She is a Chinese Shar-pei.
Nice dog. Is it a puppy? I also have bulldogs their boxers.
Story of my life.
I love how he moves just as smoothly backwards as he does when he walk straightforward
He wasn't even trying to harm the fishes and I'm pretty sure he could with his claws. He was like: "Please leave me alone in my cave".
We lost a pet recently, this is exactly what I needed to remind me life goes on
Poor guy mustβve had an long and rough road up into the day he left the grocery store in that box. So happy to see him living his best life. His grabbing the little peas is so adorable
Googled "how long do lobsters live?" - apparently as much as 100 years or more. Strap in boys and girls, we're in for a long ride!
@Dr. Pepper this is a bucket πͺ£
@Throg!* Lmfao
@Throg LET'S FUCKING GO?
@Fish-Jay & Lorena Aquariums no, european lobsters (Leon) lives around 34 years as male and 54 as female
If it doesn't die from it's molting yeah
I love how Leon has been staring at his new home since it was placed there.
Itβs absolutely amazing to find myself so very engaged with anything other than dogs and cats! Thank you for sharing Leon-itβs a real treatπ
Great to see Leon got a new pad! I hope he's happy in it. BTW, looks like his front claws are working fine now. Great to see that too.
I love how gentle you are with him in regard for his feelings
i saw the title and i was like "nooo he's giving leon away" but then i realized you're buying him a bigger and better aquarium. woooooooooooo for both of you!

I love when Leon first went into his new home, heβs got his arms open talking in the new place. He loves it
Greetings from Germany, I really like the idea of giving this lobster a 2nd chance.
Even tho I'm not into fish or sea stuff at all, I am very interested in your little "project".
TheXvid needs more people like you.
loving this series, congrats on the sponsor! If it pay for Leon, promo anything :)
We went from βMight as well put something in this old tankβ to βletβs get a giant tank for my pet lobster.β

happens quiet often in the aquarium hobby,;))except the lobster part
that's what love and appreciation for a creature does to you... βΊ
Right?? π
You could see the fear in his eyes when he was being pulled out. Like here we go again then hey this isn't bad. Still not an ocean but hes alive and physically healthy. β€
I'm watching my 2nd Leon video and I have to say it was relaxing to watch Leon. You do a great job of explaining the process. Thanks!
He looks so happy and curious about his new home! I love it. And watching him organize things the way he wants is so awesome to see

I read the title and got so worried that this was going to be the end of Leon's story with us, but it actually was a happy and exciting turn of events!! I love Leon and your story!!
I put off watching this video for 11 days because I wasnβt emotionally prepared to say goodbye to Leon. Iβm so happy it was not what I was thinking!
@Erin Freeman I didn't know that It was bred and did not live in the ocean. Are you sure ?
@Magali Comte He explains it in the previous video. Leon was bred and has never seen or lived an ocean. To set him free would be like letting a rat you purchased at PetSmart out in the woods. He would be killed almost immediately and would not have the natural instincts to survive.
Oh man, me, too!
Omg I started my fishy tank with my hubby and we have been watching Leon. We love him. Funny thing we were actually looking up ways to keep tanks healthy when we found you. Youβre so informative and calming.

I've been going through a lot lately. This video is really helping out. I think it will help me improve myself as if I get a pet. Taking care of a pet really will give me more motivation to actually live life.
2 Million views in 5 days for a store bought lobster. No click bait title, no social narrative, doesn't appear to be artificially boost by youtube. Just original and genuine content. You'd think TheXvid/Google would realize what makes this platform great is stuff like this and not whatever they are trying to engineer through studying the algorithms.
This is what TheXvid used to be like before monetisation caused it to be swamped by people that don't just want to share content, but want to make bank. I miss those days and wish the monetisation would go.
Amen! I agree! I do videos too on here and also watch many and I hate the click bait videos and many other things I have seen. I miss the old days of TheXvid but I love this guys content and it's crazy to see this many views over a store bought lobster lol but it's very relaxing and I felt sad for Leon. I hate seeing those poor lobsters in the supermarkets. Very happy, this guy is doing well as a pet :D
@Cyberwiccan I don't think you know how the internet works...
See, we can both make baseless claims.
I don't think you know how algorithms work...
@Jarrall Barnett We live in a society.
I throughly enjoyed watching these two videoβs. What a crafty idea that you had. It forced me to watch your two episodes. I always ate lobsters, now I donβt know if I want to after seeing him in action. I will enjoy future episodes. Thanks for sharing, & the cat is cute.
This is such a great story. Iβm so happy for Leon and his life. He won the life lottery with you (barring the zombie apocalypse).
Dudes low-key my hero I always wanted to do this and I think a lot of us feel this way
I love the way you incorporated the sponsor info! It was so much more authentic than the usual spon-con. Great job!
Who could've thought that a lowly grocery store lobster, lovingly saved by a human could bring so many millions of people such joy?! Wonderful series.
not lowly :(

I agree I agree I agree.... Did I tell how much I agree with you?
@hoodzzeee And your plate comment says more about you than people who would rather rescue than be selfish.
Thank you for all youβre doing for Leon and educating all Of us about lobsters π
I'm watching these updates little late but i love him so much πβ€οΈ seeing him get so healthy made me so happy. Thank you for saving him. I've never understood why lobster and crabs are boiled alive when they can feel pain.
Thank you for these videos. I always knew they were fascinating animals. This gives us a good insight on them and Leo gets a chance to live his life again and that is amazing to watch him thrive.

These videos bring me a lot of joy - it's a real "feel good" story.
Note: I actually supported your sponsor because they supported you - so I guess I have some new knives arriving soon
@PSadvance How do you know the steel is cheap? Yangjiang is famous for its knives. The labor and logistics costs would be cheap for sure.
@ALICE GOLDENVALLEY uhm btw, itβs way safer having a sharp reliable knife than using a dull cheap knife. Like much safer. And chef will tell you the same
Love this thread, itβs very wholesome β₯οΈ
Wow, thank you so much for supporting him!! I love supporting people when I can!!
@N Jones I never have cooked lobster or crab. I know they suffer when you put them live into boiling water!
Leon has no clue how many people want his life to be with someone like you. You have such a heart. Bless you.
Thank you for sharing Leon, I was suggested the first vid when you took him in and loved Leon right away. Youβre awesome!
ROCK ON LEON! You have amazing KARMA! Saving Leon and making his life better and better just means you two have a very special connection. GOD BLESS MUCH LOVE
That was one seriously cool aquarium store you went to. I could spend an entire day there. Another great video in this series.
I like how we got recommended this randomly and now weβre all become emotionally invested in this lobster. Love you Leon!
Right?
Hahaha, yep π.
Same,same π
So True, every time i see a Leon video pop up i need to watch it and make sure Leon is ok lol (really)
Awww he's so cute I'm glad Leon doing alright in his new place. :)
I just watched all of Leon's videos today. I'm so impressed and beyond happy you saved this one from the grocery store. I always wondered if people do that, and you did! He's safe, fed, well cared for, and loved! You and Leon are very educational letting us watch your progress. Thank you.
Love Leon and his new home! Thank you for sharing him with all of us π
You could literally see the anger in Leonβs eyes when you pulled him out of his comfort zone
He looks so healthy compared to the first video.
@Antoine Immediately what I thought.
Hmmm wait kana like the video
@Vicky B they maybe have them a week, they fight each other constantly, they're literally just is water with nothing they actually need and they don't feed them. It's actually so bad they'll help each other get the bands off and "jump" another lobster to each him if they've been in there long enough
Yeah it is not the same Leon
I noticed that too! His colors are fantastic now.
These videos make me so happy I often cry at them. Love them so much!
I'm happy to see his life is really improved it sadden me greatly when I first saw him not even able to open his own clawsπ’ just because a animal is destined to be our dinner doesn't mean we should treat them badly
Iβm really loving this story of Leon.
So interestingly odd. How big will he grow?
The legend of Xxlike.Uno -snowquen's- is my idol. Hes the person I aspire to be, hes my light of day.
I was so afraid Leon was being rehomed but he got a brand new condo instead. Good job Leon eating your peas!
@Jayme Funny it depends, if Leon was raised in a lobster farm or if he was picked from the ocean and if he's never been out in the ocean then it's like saying a dog would be better off in the forest, he seems good in his tank.
@Izul Padilla that wouldnt be so bad, hed be free.
I was so scared, I thought they were releasing him into the ocean
Hahaha yeah me too
Grab the escapea Leon! π¦
I absolutely adore Leon!
Stumbling across these has made my day, thank you for such an interesting series of videos.
Thank you for sharing this. I LOVE following Leon's story. Thank you for saving Leon and for keeping us posted on his progress. LOVE the new tank! AMAZING!!! β€β€β€β€β€β€
Oh, wonderful choice. You are an amazing, kind man, Brady. Thank you for all you do for Leon. Wouldnβt it be super if more were like you β€οΈβ€οΈπβ€οΈπ
The lobsters at grocery stores are always so listless, barely even moving their antenna; much less walking & cleaning. Leon is so active, curious, & proud of his clean space. They say lobsters are brainless things that don't need enrichment, but my dude here got him a private trainer to strengthen his claws so he could do more things. He explores. He's always doing something. He doesn't have a human brain, but he looks so vibrant & alive, man... You're living my childhood Lobster Rescue dreams, lol!
@Arvid SjΓΆberg Cruelty free eggs is a myth...like Santa Claus lol-. for example, factory farming puts 16 chickens per sq metre - free range means 10 chickens per sq metre etc etc .. sounds moral to me.
@Kaz Maras Ika, its a swedish market chain. I usually buy eko eggs from free walking chikens inside, 'cause I can't find anybody who sells eggs from free walking chikens outside
@Arvid SjΓΆberg Where do you buy your eggs?
@Kaz Maras Yeah you got a point... welp, guess its time to start facing out Milk and eggs
@Arvid SjΓΆberg Just the companies that care about making money.
I am totally amazed by Leon, and weirdly, I have fallen just a little bit in love!
All credit to Leon's 'Dad' for ensuring his happiness & well-being ! I'm truly inspired and touched. x
Thank you for caring for Leon in such a detailed way!!!
Thank you for the update! What a joy any animal can be. Testimony to a loving Creator!
These videos are so wholesome and shot very well, I love the care and effort put into them! Keep up the great work and canβt wait to see more of Leon
Youβre genuine interest in Leonβs wellbeing and mental health does not go unseen, I appreciate you and your content
@The Mute they can't be that smart if they're stuck in a tank
@stickyjake7 Lobsters are extremely smart animals Dude. Look it up.
He needs a ceiling for his cave though
@Flannery's NoteBook I didnβt delete anything. Someone mustβve reported it or the OP deleted it
@stickyjake7 Rarely, but I do actively try to limit how much I eat specifically due to the conditions of factory farming. When I do eat meat, I try to make sure it's from a brand that is certified humane. But there's a difference still from buying meat from cruel sources and actively torturing an animal yourself, such as disabling its body parts with rubber bands or boiling it alive. You actively argued a perspective of "Why care about being cruel to these animals". That is what I'm taking issue with.
