manhunt idea: making dyed leather armor makes the skin of your hunters like a disguise or suit. so if you make full blue leather armor you would look like dev. this would be great for trolling with the hunters (maybe 2 or 3). maybe the leather armor could also give you a buff or op loot or something.

The fact that Dev didn't wear a random skin for the ONE video where they used custom player models shows that he probably already knew what the twist was beforehand.

And yeah, I know they're not to be taken too seriously, and most people are under the impression that it's not totally real anyway, but I do still wonder how much of these videos is staged. Obviously as you said, there's a balance between creating good content with minimal effort and honest content, and I can't imagine that effort 'threshold' would placed high enough for them to restart the entire manhunt with a completely new twist if the speedrunner was to die, for example. They'd almost certainly just cut the footage and continue from where they left off, and given how many manhunts they've done, that outcome must have come into fruition multiple times in the past for them, surely.
Thinking about that only increases my discomfort though, because now I remember the video they did where the twist was fake death messages from the speedrunner in chat. In that video, Kier says that they can restart the video when he thinks Dev is dead, which is quite misleading, as it suggests that they'd be willing to do that, when they likely would just cut continue as though nothing happened. In fact, in the comments for that video, I saw tons of people commending them for their honesty for not staging manhunts in that way, which makes a little sad because those people (who are mainly children and don't know any better but to wholeheartedly trust their favourite content creators) are probably being deceived. I'd wager that fewer viewers than you think are actually in on the whole 'reality tv' kind of thing that you mentioned.
Of course this is all speculation, and I'm not gonna make any hard judgements on Kier and Dev based on it. At the end of the day, their content isn't malicious in any way, it serves its purpose for entertainment, and there are far, far worse things TheXvidrs do to their audiences than staging a couple of videos. But I'm still curious about what the viewers don't see in the making of these manhunts, and hope that the realisation that they're probably faked doesn't affect them too harshly.
@Oliver I can imagine a way that would make it possible but I don't think they do it or think much of it bc it's not something big like a recorded speedrun, and it would cost more effort than necessary when u compare it to the outcome. I see these videos more like reality tv shows, what they're doing isn't too different than the amount of (way less as well) staging a show like Survivors or The Kardashians go through. Their type of staging won't impact a heavy reward or consequence to an innocent person who wasn't involved in the content creating. If they want their audience to believe that what's going on is real, there's no big harm. I'm pretty sure most of it isn't staged, and unless it's for something big like a speedrun or something that'll dictate their standing on something huge. Then I think it's really fine? I know you're not rejecting and saying that it's not okay for them to do so, but I want to ease ur discomfort about it.
@M nm Yeah I completely agree with you there. I understand the motives behind what they're doing, and I know it's not that terrible a thing regardless, but still, I feel like there must be better and more honest ways of going about it.

yeah when you can become the dragon and seeing how that was, it was just over without a doubt, like 6 rows of health that don't deal damage to you when unfusing, just op for anyone who doesn't have anything else to do other than getting it, and the spam it too much for anyone

Idea: give the runner the ability to switch with the hunter once they are within 10 blocks of each other, and using this to use the power to your advantage, but thing is… the hunter is invisible when there that close, so when they are in range, you have no idea if your putting yourself in danger, and you get an notification if there in range.
