He wasn’t just ignoring Pogba. He ignored all of the United players. That’s his mentality to be focused on the game at hand not old buddies
That's jealousy 🤣😭 He's well-known Jealous clown 🗑🤮
Yeah just like gary neville when schmeichel moved to city
100%.
@Mustafa Bayraktar true....but Rooney cares about only himself that's all....He was a so called God Complex in a Man U shirt and now at that time he has to settle in a Everton shirt......
This (concentration on game) shouldn’t extend to ignore greetings from your rival fellows, right?
Rooney will always be a United legend.
He was thinking " Damn...That red colour looks nice...Everton? Really? What was I thinking...
Too jealous
Legend. must know respec people
@yemmydboss Hardly over rated!..His overall stats speak for themselves and he was one of the most unselfish attacking players I've seen play!
.He played for the Team¬ just for himself!
..And I'm life long suffering Spurs Fan!
Thats why rooney was overrated. Pogba working his ass off for world cup trophy meanwhile rooney has 0 international trophy. Overrated in my book
This video single handedly explains United’s mentality to this day.
Bang on mate bang on
Rooney is overrated. If he played nowadays, he would be another Dele Alli.
Said isn't it. You're at war. Talk after.
Y
@Vincent Vries lack of professionalism in the Premier league tunnel is the description you're looking for. It's not love or respect. It's lack of respect for the fans and club. It has nothing to do with getting to the final in the euros. There's a time and a place for handshakes and its not the tunnel. They think they're going out for an exhibition game. Wayne is setting the right example here.
Rooney ignores opposition.
Roy Keane: *"That's my boy."*
Y
true asuahsuashuash
He learned from the best of pogba played with Keane he would’ve been a the best
😹😹the humor in this is too much
I’m dead 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
One of them is a professional sportsman, 100% dedicated to the game and his club.
The other is Paul Pogba.
He is always joking, never serious he only play’s good for his National Team!
@Masoom Ahmed no, it’s cause he’s wasted so many years playing with guys far below his level. He will definetly en up winning a lot as soon as he leaves United
Midfield clown
@Rassy Conkerhead I am not a Utd fan but have they have several black players and have had black players at least since the 1980s. Any criticism directed at Pogba I have seen is because of his attitude. He plays for Utd like he is not interested.
@Nduna Hlongwane Completely irrelevant point, he didn't mention anything about English players
He's a real player thats why, he's preparing for war unlike most selfish, arrogant players today
Isnt it arrogant to ignore someone?
So true
@Pepsi Axe Did I strike a nerve? My apologies, I didn’t mean to hurt your feelings for calling you out on your farcical and baseless arguments drenched in prejudice and ignorance. It’s clear by the fact you keep abandoning said arguments that you’re unsure how to properly debate someone. But your right, it’s 6 A.M. wherever your living, so it must be 6 A.M. everywhere, right? Anyway I’m off to work 😂 maybe while I’m gone you can learn to comprehend the English language?
@Captain Fantastic stop sponging off my taxes whilst you sit there on your sofa that I've paid for
As Liverpool fans, i always have my respect for Rooney. Watching my favourite team againts them in north west derby since 11yo always give an honour for having this man as a rivalry.
First time I've seen this , impressed, by Rooney attitude.first class.and the difference between him and Paul
@MM_MUFC hi grammar cop here
maybe you dont know what rooney say about liverpool
@Siwoo Kim you got no context
as a united FANS? hahaha
Even as a gooner I’ve gotta say what a player Rooney was absolute genius on the pitch 👏
Arsenal fun should agree on this, he never missed ruining their day whenever he met Arsenal
@Ian Fitzpatrick You have no case.. He would have walked into any side on Earth for a decade
very good player even maybe excellent but genius only few of them can be. Let's use the right words Rooney was a very good player.
you're not a Gooner
I wouldn't say genius...maradona yes, Rooney, very good
That volley he gets against Newcastle after arguing with ref 🔥
I will never forget his debut for utd. What a way to announce your arrival.
It was very special
I Was fortunate enough to be there to witness that
Ronny, world class superstar
Amen
Oh yeahhhhhhhh mannnnn remember that!!!
No nonsense backslapping of opponents in the tunnel. Keano would approve.
Hes just short
Rooney = cr7, cr7 rooney
Also neville
@McN maybe
I still miss Wazza. My favourite footballer. 😭
@Audiobooks & Chill domt forget berba.. Pure class
Miss him? Ah bless
Ronaldo the🐐🏆
@Audiobooks & Chill dont forget Nani as well
he was a monster
No Joke, Wayne Rooney was a spectacular skillful player in his day.
The best
Just the perfect video to describe the difference between old school footballers and the new generation of ballers
It's more about culture than schools of play, the newer English players are just getting influenced by cultures that have always taken a lighter approach.
Talent recognizes talent.....Wayne Rooney is a Legend
Look at his face he was suffering knowing he is the greatest united player and he isnt there anymore :(( i love that man
yeah back then i like united because there are cr7 and rooney and many more .. im mostly inspired by rooney and beckham when i was kid
bloody hell, couldn't begin to imagine the emotion he'd be going through then and there.
@Dawood Pervez Rooney made man united? You good?
@Dawood Pervez ROONEY MADE MAN U? OR WTF ARE U TALKING ABOUT
@kojoa821 agyemang club that he made*
So true his boyhood club that brought him through and that Club that made him.
As a Liverpool fan, i absolutely adore Rooney. Good footballer and always gave his all.
I think there’s also a little animosity about he’s last year at United he was still only what 31 and he didn’t play as much and he was effectively played as central midfielder still a class act always gave he’s all
@Maximus Desimus Yeah. Rooney after 30 was quite slow cause he wasn't train very much.
Literally nobody is.
He came down smiling but then knew it was game time, time to get work....no shaking hands and spuds till after the match.
Rooney wearing that blue jersey has still a bigger heart for United than all the red shirt wearing United present players. I remember the match where the United crowd was cheering for Rooney the most over any of the present United players. That's respect that these celebrity United players of now will never get!
@Francisco Javier Rodríguez good for what we got him for .. he was never supposed to be the main star or something. And he did his role well for us. The whole point of my main comment was that how players were all passionate about team once and now they are just celebrities..
@snehal chandran What did you think about the player Javier Hernandez? Good player or not?.
@Francisco Javier Rodríguez there are few good players at United. The thing is they don't play football mainly. They are celebrities who play football now. They don't have the passion nor the commitment towards any club or even football. Rooney recently in an interview had mentioned how lingard and Pogba were dancing in dressing room the next day after a loss and Rooney walked in and shut them up. That's the mentality difference.
Which are the good players from Manchester United right now?.
Imagine seeing Pogba captain the team you love. And a keeper with a man bun behind him 🤣🤣🤣🤣
The goal keeper with a man bun and Pogba looking like someone has buried a dinner plate in his head. Come to think of it, you don’t think it was Rooney do you?
Probably explains why he won’t even look at him.
Incredible to see a Manchester United legend, and today's average Manchester United players.
@Kristiyan Indzhev agree
@iceyicey yeah he's pretty average for a big team
@Kristiyan Indzhev ok but if I compared players to Ronaldo and Messi (at their peak) they would be “very average” - doesn’t mean I can go round calling good players average.
@iceyicey compared to rooney very average
Pogba? Average? Lol.
The Nevilles did the same thing to each other for the same teams. He is just focusing on the match. Roy Keane would approve it.
What was the result of this game
@Oldmansland1 he might means Chuck Norris approves joke
And Keane is a mediocre
The black players at Manure today wouldn't approve, fact!
@foot m loooooooool this comment is funny asf
Rooney is old school. He focuses on the game, while Pogba only is interested in making friends and new followers on social media.
You can tell Rooney loves the club he looks at the utd badge twice
Legend
Perfect example of the mentality that has resulted in Rooney being regarded as one of the greatest Premier League players of all time whilst Pogba is one of the biggest flops the Premier League has ever seen.
Messi the🐐🏆
@Ahmad Karimi what?
Can I see your reference. You seem like talking with authority
Pig a is not the biggest flop tho
😂
Love Wayne Rooney, I love that gladiatorial approach !!
I am sure most Utd fans are missing Rooney, or the days when he used to play for Man Utd. I frankly can say we love him more than Pogba the mercenary. There's nothing unusual if Rooney ignored Pogba, or other ManU players. Even former teammates and brothers Gary and Phil Neville completely ignored each other before their match.They just want to focus on the task at hand.
Yup! It's right.. I saw that video mate😀👍
Hope to see him back at United one day
Good. Need more like him at OT nowadays.
As a Liverpool fan I can Still respect this. He's doing what any good captain should do !
Rooney knows what professionalism is. Focusing at the task in front of him. Maybe these young guys can learn a thing or two
as a united fan I used to hate playing against rooney.
just didn't feel right.
At all. Never did feel right.
@notreallytho 🤪
@Zee One You're not wrong
You never played against Rooney
Happened only once, this.
A legend and a joke. One is absolutely focused taking his craft seriously, the other is just happy to be there with "it's just a game" mentality. Hence why one will be forgotten in 10 years and the other is already a club/national legend/icon.
Rooney best striker England ever had for me..and now doing great job at derby county..I hope he becomes Man UTD manager in the future..
for legendary player like rooney, going out there is like going to war and that is why their passion when playing is diffrent for united players today.
This is why I respect Rooney, class player who knows how to win and a true professional
He hasn't even reached semi final in international level . not great player at all.
To Pogba it was meeting a legend!
To Rooney it was another Tuesday afternoon
Wow teams are standing so close to each other, good old times.
He nodded acknowledgment. Friendly half smile, too. Pogba in no way felt slighted or ignored.
Sky sports making something out of nothing
We need 10 of these serious footballers who play for the badge rather than money hungry spoiled kids the club currently has
@Chetan Dubal the minute you commented here it automatically became everybody's business.. INCLUDING ME!! lol.. so throwing a strop won't work boyo! lol..
Well said bro
@DarkZombie Bro I was so lost
@Vito Corleone thanks for providng a completely irrelevant comment
@Chetan Dubal “Back in my day we used to play outside, not like today’s kids who sit around playing that darn pausestation all day.” 👴
I'm not particularly a fan of Paul Pogba. But people have selective memories. Rooney in his late twenties, held Manchester United to ransom and demanded to have his wages doubled or he'd run his contract down and leave on a free. Now I know two wrongs don't make a right (because Pogba has refused contracts offered to him by Manchester United and is out of contract this summer) but my point is more about being careful when trying to take the moral high ground. A lot of players are in it for themselves and couldn't give a t0$$ about the fans or the needs of the club.
@John Mitchell No.
Pogba plays for himself, his agent and his social media! He is everything that’s wrong with the modern day ill disciplined player! He is not worth the hastle for any team
@John Mitchell agree with that. A lot of it has to do with greed and the social media culture that is developing within the players.
@Avinash .V. Nair Short careers where if they were to retire at 30 they would never need to do a single days work again for the rest of their life. Nobody needs 50 mil in their bank to have a comfortable life. It's just pure greed.
@john you can't complain against the player man because they have very short career of glamour and money. Granted there are some who are there for the fans and the love for the game but not all.
He wasn’t budging an inch there good lad.ROOOONEY
Roooney should enjoy the moment and the game. Being sadistic didn't win the match for him.
@KD Burner oh yea I see you
@SPizzle 😂😂 30 minutes apart lol. i was talking about what the original comment said… not you mate hahaha
@KD Burner and I said “he still didn’t budge”…
@KD Burner it’s wazza mate what you think?
Real old school footballer, learnt from the best.
It’s because of that one match where United lost, Rooney said he came the next day to the training ground with pure agony and fury still because of the result, the next thing he saw was Pogba and Lingard dancing on some music which infuriated him.. it’s the mentality and the lack of determination he dislikes of these particular players, don’t think he hates him
Wayne is trying his best to keep his cool. 🤣
At first I saw the clip and thought Wayne Rooney was being arrogant but once I read the comments, I got a clear perspective as to why he did that - and it made sense since he played in the 2000's where football was war.
"You are going to war. This hugging and kissing. Don't even look at the opposition."
I bet Roy Keane will be watching this before he sleeps.
😅
Rooneys mentality is so great right, where is he at in his career compared to others around his age with similar ability? I love Rooney but let’s not exaggerate a video in a tunnel lol
Football= Respect.
Bravo Paul
you can understand why he did this: being pally with pogba & friends would have made it even harder for fans to see him as anything but a united player at heart. that being said, he's stifling a laugh at 0:23, so i doubt anyone's getting offended or in too much mental anguish
He is a true legend
The difference is Rooney will always be remembered as a United legend, for his passion and mentality on the pitch, also a good captain.
He's always been like that, it's a winner's routine for 90mns
The emotions flowing in rooney's mind when he is playing against him former club.
emotions are never in mind pal
And he thoughts were *NOT WORTHY!!!*
That's why he is Man United all time leading goal scorer. Arise Sir Wayne Rooney
Rooney will always be a United legend.
difference in mindset, nobody is your friend on the pitch. united players nowadays care too much about their image than their performance.
It’s not that deep my boiii, it’s just ball
this is basically the whole football world of today
Pogba such a nice guy😂 he even pat Rooney on the back man
Rooney is a good captain. You don't high-five the whole opposition team lmao.
Pogbas won a World Cup, maybe because he didn’t high 5 the opposition then 😂😂 you guys overanalyse.
@Luke Beardmore-Smith yeah, it's war on the pitch
Messi the🐐🏆
@Fábio Queirós Not legally, no
@Luke Beardmore-Smith You think there is no enslavement these days? Think again.
Rooney Legend🔥
He's the team captain. He can't go around making hugs and high 5s with the opposition.
he wasn't ignoring pogba , you can see how rooney smiles when he walks up to pogba
He was smiling at De Gea
Rooney has more mentality than the whole ManU squad
Things started to go downhill for Man United ever since Pogba joined the club...
“Once a blue always a blue” lol 😂
He knows none of them players deserve to be on the team so he doesn’t respect them since they don’t give their all for united especially pogba
Rooney's head is now a perfect circle. Literally The Whole Of The Roon!
Players prepare for games in different ways ,some like to be vocal and hug/shake hands and others like to be in deep thought and focus that way .
That’s how Rooney prepares.
Rooney was such an underappreciated player
Este foi o melhor que o país criador do futebol pôde ter kkkkkk . ..
He didn’t ignore him😂 their first encounter they smiled at each other and pogba patted his back😂😂 if that’s ignoring him then idk
Mate… the fact that Pogba was wearing the armband is everything United have done wrong for the last 9 years
Rooney we miss you mate. You will stay always our hero. GGMU
Wayne Rooney for me was the all round greatest players of all time, stick him CB and he’d be unreal. No one like him anymore
@Rishav Adhikari true still can't make 50 greatest players of all time list
@LEGEND OV BAGO Lol what you smoking. He is the topscorer and best English player of all time mate.
@Shiv Verma Facts
Rooney can't make top 50 greatest players of All Time list
Hahahhaha.
Wayne Rooney is a beast 👹 I really loved how ignored to smile with this bunch of useless players who never know what it takes to be a Manchester United player
@Honest man that team is way different in squad from 17-18 team
@Yahuza Mohammed they near enough had the same team
@Honest man 15-16 Rooney was at Manchester United stop talking about the things you haven't made a proper research about 🤣
@Yahuza Mohammed 2015/16 season?
You don't even remember the trophies Man United won and you claimed you watch football that much
When was the last time Man United won an FA cup
Still has that big player/big club mentality
Rooney after seeing the captains armband on Pogba ' Damn we won already' !!
The comments are hilarious considering Rooney literaly passed the ball to a Utd player for the first goal and Pogba was directly involved in both goals Utd scored to beat everton in this game. Facial expressions dont win football matches lads.
Almost managed it without cracking a smile too.
Rooney must be at United's coaching staff!!Rooney is a professional!!
Rooney, the last of an era.
I’ve seen players such as Iniesta, Sergio Ramos etc. who have literally won every trophy in club and international football with much bigger achievements acknowledge the opposition.
its not about that. It doesn't mean Pogba or player need to be as focused. But it certainly helps and in the case of Man U, its clear they lack focus when they play. Its not a must but its respected. You focus on your game and not there to chat.
He was just getting in the zone....everyone has a different routine
The lad that made me fall in love with football then subsequently became a chelsea fan
He feels crazy for pogba in the captain of Manchester United
This scene,Remind me of Gary & Phil neville 😂
Wayne left him hanging but Michael Keane saved him at the last minute 😆
But Rooney never ignored Wade Barrett 🤣
Playing against your formal team is not easy. He miss his team, he loves man utd
If I were Rooney I'd ignore Pogba as well
crazy how pogba left that game with the 3 points, 2 assists and the MOTM award. goes to show it’s all about what you do on the pitch who’d of thought!😱
Make 'have' great again. Of. Good lord!
He's Loves Everton So Much.
I feel sorry for pogba 🥲
He’s just getting in the zone for the game ! Nothing else.
I am a diehard Chelsea fan. But Wazza.. No one can hate him... Even the rivals. He is so special😍🥰
Rooney true United legend players these days down even deserve to wear the T-shirt
People saying here oh he is proffessional. Oh he is old school but in reality a hug or a smile never influence a football result ..so to me thats evil from wazza
It’s a grand old team to play for….. 💜
I love Pogba reaction
You can see rooney smiling and embracing all the United players when he walking down soon as he spots the cameras he's on
@keithsloan92 And he said " Embracing all" lmao
Smiled for a split second. No embracing on his part. Why you lying for?
