I have read several articles, which state that before selling a phone even if we encrypt it and do a factory reset, there are people out there who can easily recover sensitive data. What is your take on that Hardik?

Note- Encrypted data is a completely diff thing.even if u were able to recover encrypted deleted files it would be of no use without the decryption KEY which we dont have
(Its gone the moment you format you phone)

+prashant ramalingam Well there are two sides to it-
THEORETICALLY- Successful recovery of deleted files depends on certain factors:
1.The file system type that is in use (FAT or NTFS)
2.The level of fragmentation while deletion
3.Is all data still available (or already overwritten
4.Drive on which data is stored
Now If A file was simply deleted without any formatting been done and if the file was not replace by another file (This cenario happens when you accidently press on the deleted button) then there is a 100% chance of recovery
BUT If you format the drive blank and then fill it up with new data the chances of recovery are any deleted file in full in slim .But if you cant get you hards on the full file then then all the efforts goes to waste
Then again There are Guys in the world who savage data from Old decommissioned Hard drives and computers that are dumped there.Although the data is not of much use but it tells simoly hitting the deleted button isnt enough BUT not these days.these days companies run a special software(Similar to shredder fuction that comes in the free pc software CC Cleaner) on these systmes before decommissioning them. That deletes the files in a way making recovery impossible.
Recovery only works if the data was simolu deleted by accident or by purposes without much care.If a file was deleted with the sole intention of making the data un-unecover-able
Then the data is well un-recover-able
      Good day
