The love expressed by these three actors for each other is delightful. These kind of relationships need to be celebrated. I love how Graham Norton creates environments where we can see this happen, be it between people who have known each other for a long time or people who have just met (Chris Pratt/John Bishop, Daniel Radcliffe/Cuba Gooding Jr/Omid Djalili, Toni Collette/Billie Piper/Shappi Khorsandi to name a few favourites)
@Historian212 !@a!!
Matt Damon. Bill Murray, Hugh Bonneville, Paloma Faith.
I agree with that.
Kristine Maitland
Ms KMaitland nah it's just too hard to find and sometimes not all worth it. Maybe just once in a while like sheep's brain.
I love the way Ian and Patrick hold hands, it's such a casual thing and normal thing, it's the kind of male friendship I wish society would embrace more and more - ones where men can hold hands, express love in physical ways like hugs and such, and not have people go "oh that's gay" or "that's gross" or "what a sissy" - friendship is love, love is beautiful, and love should be encouraged. Ian and Patrick is what I could only wish my best friend and I would be like when we get older.
I love how at 20:56 Ian just takes Patrick's hand as they sit down, almost instinctively. Lot of love there.
So lovely with of the men
@LeoS Men kiss on the cheek in lots of countries, and it's not considered gay.
Men hug all the time. Me and my "gangsta" homies hug all the time in my hood.. but holding hands? Yeah, that's gay m8
@Locktwiste72 LOL. Ian McKellen is so out he's nicknamed ' Gandalf the gay' in Nz.😆As for Patrick and those pink shorts and shoes...
These three have such natural chemistry going on, you seriously cannot fake this
This has got to be one of my favourite episodes ever
Yes, I’ve watched it at least 10 times
definitely in my top 3, i couldn't stop laughing
This is so authentic and emotional. I just love how vulnerable the men are being.
Such class.
The magic of Graham
They never are like this on American shows.
Yes, all of them, Blunt included
No one else on the planet can get away with butt-cheek slapping Hugh Jackman and mouth-on-mouth kissing Sir Patrick Stuart, other than the one and only, Sir Ian McKellen
***Stewart
@Snapdragon 9600 they're all men, they use the same toilets, changing rooms etc and they're close friends- it's not the same as a man doing the same thing to a woman in the workplace, or a woman to a man
Which would be considered sexual harassment in the workplace.
The man is fabulous.
Amen
Born and raised in the States and yet Graham Norton and Alan Carr are my favorite talk show hosts. The hosts in the US just do not compare.
Yes, Graham Norton is the GOAT of talk show hosts. But another great interviewer, one whose questions impress his celebrity guests, is Sean Evans on Hot Ones. And to do it while his brain is melting is even more impressive lol
Except Craig Ferguson. Yes I know he’s scottish.
@Poppy Harlow But who did become American.
@Carol Ann who wasn't from the US
Craig Ferguson
I think this mgiht just be the best episode of The Graham Norton Show ever.
@kbertan this one is better than the Matt Damon Bill Murray one.
Yes. Watching it for the third time rn.
It really is. Till this day.
I was thinking the same! So much love!
I don't think they care if there's an audience.
What a fantastic show. I laughed to tears and I really needed that. Thank you as I was feeling very low. I am also deeply moved by the respect and caring one experiences between these 3 great actors for each other. And for those too young to know or remember it is not to be taken lightly the freedom, humour and acceptance regarding Sir Ian's homosexuality on a major tele show. Something unthinkable not too long ago. The witch Thatcher would have thrown him in prison and thrown away the key. Sir Ian won't speak of it but he has lived through some of the most brutal decades of British violence and bigotry against people like him. He is a man of great courage and was a beacon of hope and inspiration for thousands of people.
Me too
I remember an old South Bank Show (showing my age now and I doubt many will remember it!) Where they followed Sir Ian McKellen around working in the theatre world (this was before X-Men and Lord of the rings) and it came up about his sexuality and he rightly said at the time that it is not relevant to the show. This was in the eighties and then 20yrs later they did a follow up and he admitted that no it wasn't relevant but he was terrified that if it was made public, he would never work again! Unfortunately since you wrote this, the pandemic happened and these horrible bigots, racists and homophobes have come out of the woodwork and slimed their way onto social media and it seems that we have gone backwards in acceptance and it breaks my heart 😢
globalman Hear, hear.
Sir Ian McKellen is one of the most Adorable human being on the face of this fucking planet.
So lovely great man would be my last wish on this earth to meet him from Ireland x
When he hugged Hugh he holds Hugh's ass lmao
@Hisoka101 Robin was miles ahead.
Amen 🙏
The love they have for eachother is so heartwarming and touching.
It reminds me of Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee.. They just loved working together
What gentle, loving, genuine people these actors are, I almost had tears in my eyes! I wish I could be more like them :)
This was definitely one of the better GNS episodes in some time! These guests just have such good chemistry together!
This has to be one of the best Graham Norton episode, at least it's up there with the Bill Murray/Matt Damon/Hugh Bonneville episode. The mutual admiration Hugh has for Patrick and Ian, and the bromance between Ian and Patrick is so awesome! Hope they will do more films together again.
I also want to put the Daniel Radcliffe/Cuba Gooding Jr./Omid Djalili episode up there as well. I love that episode… until Sinead O’Connor enters. (I don’t hate her, by any means. The atmosphere just changed when she came on.)
Quanta gente incrível 👏
Hands down this is the best ever episode of TGNS, the natural chemistry between all three of these superstars is fantastic and even after nearly 20 years has passed between their first meeting, the way Hugh Jackman has so much respect and admiration for these giants of stage and screen is fantastic…the surprise introduction of Sir Ian (who was introduced simply as “Ian McKellen” by Graham yet wasn’t corrected, showing Sir Ian’s humility) was simple yet so brilliantly effective. The surprise looks on Hugh’s and Sir Patrick’s faces was just brilliant.
However, as hilarious are a lot of the stories that these three regale, the McKellen/Dame Maggie Smith story at the Oscars is the icing on the cake. Graham Norton should be tapped on the shoulders by Her Majesty for the way this show is produced and executed, in fact the whole team should be.
I've often thought this! He does indeed deserve to be Sir Graham Norton.
man, to see this 3 amazing gentlemen talking and interacting with each other immediately brought tears to my eye having seen that masterpiece of a film
The 3 of them were blessed with such stern yet warm, completely recognizable voices.
After so many times working together, Hugh still looks at Sir Ian and Sir Patrick with such admiration. It's like he is still star-struck! It's adorable!!!!!!
These beautiful men! Legendary talent, class, funny, totally at ease within themselves and with each other. That includes Graham Norton. This will always be the most outstanding talk show on TV.
I *love* Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman, and how sweet and delighful their friendship is. It just made me so happy to see them just casually hanging out like that. Amazing~
(Also, James Blunt was pretty funny as well, good on him!)
this is usually such a funny and wonderful show, but this one is really amazing. Such a warm feeling that you feel a little voyeuristicas the four of them have a chat. Feel really privileged to have watched this episode
These 3 actors are part of my childhood, teenagehood and adulthood. I love them. They are my mutants. They made me laugh, they made me cry and laugh so bad. This is my favorite interview. The love and respect they have for each other is just so moving.
Nice comment Luiz, and I agree with you.
I loooove Graham Norton. He’s witty, funny and an excellent host. He leaves all the other hosts in his dust.
I love the Graham Norton Show. For years I have watched it every week when there is a new episode out, and I have been trying to go through the backlog of older episodes as well. I really enjoy most episodes, but of course sometimes there are ones that stick out. The episode I previously counted as my favorite was the Julie Andrews/Jonah Hill/Channing Tatum episode, but now that episode has been pushed down to the second slot, because this episode is without a doubt my absolute favorite episode of the Graham Norton Show of all time.
When you've been wished Happy Birthday by Hugh Jackman, Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen, you've completed life.
The Graham Norton show makes my day every tine i see it. THIS episode is off the charts, though. Patrick Stewart is incredibly funny and savvy and Hugh Jackman was the perfect co-guest (or whatever you call it). THANK YOU!
The chemistry between the three is great
This show make me laugh so hard & with such joy. And this particular show made my heart SING. So much love shown in all of their eyes. So grateful for the admirations and playfulness of these strong men. Thank you The Graham Norton Show!! I'll watch forever!! Sir Patrick Stewart, Sir Ian McKelle & Hugh Jackman....more please!
This is an amazing episode! These three men are just magic together, you can truly feel the affection they share for each other.
I loved this episode, one of the best, great actors with a beautiful friendship and one of my favorite musician
Excellent! One of the best episodes of this great show. The cumplicity of old friendships fueled it, perfectly enphasized by Graham!
This is absolutely the best Graham Norton episode ever! Legends!!!
There honestly is not another talk show as relaxed and as great as Graham's show!
The amount of platonic male love in this is making my heart swell. Gay and straight, doesn’t matter-just good friends who take comfort in physical touch. Truly beautiful.
3 legendary actors in one place on the funniest show ever its just awesome
This was one of the best episodes ever... in such a good mood after watching this. The three of them together is gold.
Best episode in quite some time! Lovely people with great chemistry and love for each other!
P.s. James Blunt you lucky man, getting sung to by kings on your birthday!
This has to be my all-time favorite of all The Graham Norton episodes I have watched. I do not think it is the bromance between Hugh, Patrick, and Ian. Still, their chemistry is so open that you feel a welcomed guest into their close professional/personal relationships. Their ribbing, joking, and laughing at one another are all in front of the backdrop of unconditional acceptance. I felt that energy in the way that James was an immediate inductee into the group in just a few minutes at the end of the show. Graham is an iconic host and is always a vital element of the dynamic, but I did not feel he had to work too hard to foster the ambiance of this show.
Patrick Stewart looks fantastic at 76. So nice to see actors admiring and appreciating each other.
He literally doesn't age.... not fair! xD
Love this episode so much I'm watching it countless times already. Best line of guests ever! and Graham is as usual adorable. 😊😊😊
What I love about this show and this episode in particular is that no one is being weird about sexual preferences, they're all really comfortable in that sense regardless of being gay or straight or whatever.. is what I'm trying to say. Something I like to see. I'm straight, but there is always that feeling of being careful what to do around other men because they might not be as confident about their sexuality as I am.. or something.
Just love it when Hugh laughs. So infectious hahaha
this is the most emotional and funniest episode so far. i love the friendship that grew among the 3 original x-men casts.
thanks for uploading, ur upload makes me look forward to the weekend!
Thanks for the upload! Great quality and great show!
Awesome guests, once again, but it's not even surprising, Graham always has the best :)
I have never laughed so hard nor enjoyed an episode like this before! BIG LOVE! Best people gathered togehter on one screen.
So muuuuuch :D
Suad Hajjaj ikr, so much love 😍
Of all episodes, I think Graham and the 4 guests best displayed the amazing art of conversation skills in this one. Even though Sir Ian may seem rude at constantly cutting off Hugh at some point, he did it with such an excellent timing, and what he said was so funny that Hugh didn't mind being cutting off at all because he was so busy laughing. Learned a lot from watching this show.
Man, Sir Ian and Sir Patrick have aged really well, already beautiful in their youth and even better now.
What a great episode. And it was so fun and endearing to see Ian McKellen so relaxed and joking around.
As for Logan. Of all these superhero movies out these days, it was the first once since Dark Knight that I watched more than once and actually bothered getting for the home collection. Spiderman 2, Dark Knight and Logan. Probably the best of all these movies.
This episode is so genuine and lovely..smiling till the end! Beautiful people :-)
This had so much great moments!
-Hugh Jackman's mother. AAA+ woman.
-Emotional actors.
-Holding hands.
-What do you mean I am not circumcised?
-Ian McKellen surprise!
-Fabulousness overload.
-Hugh Jackman singing.
-Maggie Smith impersonation.
-James Blunt singing "I would say that you are beautiful but I have used that line before" LMAO.
-James Blunt burning everybody on twitter.
-Australian's sports events.
-Everybody singing the Happy Birthday to James Blunt.
I need April to come already!
Its just really nice to see these four men, each talented, from differing generations, differing sexualities and with one being famous for portraying arguably one of the most masculine characters on screen - hugging and kissing each other with genuine affection and respect
I'm in awe. The love and friendship between the actors is wonderful.
my favourite talk show. even better when you've got national treasures like Ian and Patrick. no fakery, just genuine class.
it is simply the best show out there! Graham Norton is a GENIUS!!!
.P.S I wanted to hug James Blunt so badly. poor thing
I just wanted to say thank you to whomever publishes this show every week! I wait for Saturday morning to be able to see this, given im not in the UK anymore and it makes my day! Graham Norton you are the best host ever!! So funny! Tks guys!
His face?
Arianne Santos
Arianne Santos l agree with you the same for me l watch the show from France and look forward every week even if l am french l love Graham Norton.he is the best
Arianne Santos subscribed to this channel :)
ik i wasnt the only one who noticed the nose
They were brilliant. But, i was so captivated by Ian McKellen in this. He had phenomenal energy.
James Blunt seems like a good lad. Great comebacks on twitter.
The greatest thing ever is watching Ian McKellen walk on that stage :')
Thank you for this video. Love it and don't get to see it otherwise in the US. That was one of the greatest couch line ups I've seen. Completely hilarious & charismatic. I want to see that version of Sweeny Todd!! If they don't actually do the full play even a skit involving them each in those roles would be amazing.
What a great episode, lovely people. I was grinning the whole time.
Ian has developed into the right royal queen and I love him! He is precious! I saw Patrick and Ian in "No Man's Land" and they were brilliant. The real and unabashed affection between all three men is really great to see. James Blunt does grate on one though, doesn't he?
Ian is such a fabulous human being!!! Love love love the energy he brings to any room he enters into. Smiles all across the room.
This episode was one of the best episodes ever of Graham Norton! Love it, love the show and love them!
two great actors ever I'll truly miss them in films brings tears in my eyes
James was the perfect addition to this wonderful trio :)
love sir patrick stewart when he was telling the story... then he ended up being embarrassed... he was so cute covering his face.. then he mentioned "I have grandchildren!!!" hahaha...
Obrigado por ter colocado legendas disponível em Português!
God, Hugh is so on the edge of tears for so much of this...it's heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time.
one of the most beautiful beautiful episode on this show. What genuinely good people are these 3. Kudos to them. Really gonna miss hugh as wolverine though.
Seeing any of these guys live would be an unforgettable experience
I really enjoyed this episode. It's my second time watching this. Thanks for posting the full show, Shadow Heart. :)
Maggie Smith: the queen of one liners!
This was one of Graham's best shows! 3 of the best mutants that have ever graced the screen.
I have to say that there should be one more movie with Ian McKellen as Magneto. Patrick Stewart and Hugh Jackman had their send-offs as Prof. X and Wolverine. Now, I need a proper send-off for McK-neto.
Having Ian, Patrick and Hugh singing 'happy birthday' for you must be amazing.
I have just watched this episode for the first time and have to agree that this still is the best one ever. These guys are brilliant!!!!!
I love these guys and the lack of toxic masculinity. Hugh, Ian, and Patrick are some of the most amazing men on earth.
One of the best episodes ever.
The amount of respect, love and admiration between these three, is awesome
That was one of my first theatre shows ever in Australia...didn't know I was watching the beautiful Hugh as he wasn't the name he was yet...but I still say that is one of the best theatre show experiences I've ever seen 28 years later...
Gotta love how they look at each other, you can feel the friendship and Admiration they have at each other, its amazing.
This show is simply fabulous with a perfect host & a sensational couch, doesn't get any better ❤️🙏
you guys so much made my day! i was sitting in the underground laughing so hard... : D
thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing - this was a great episode.
And that highlights episode he mentioned is bound to be an absolute corker - so many great moments.
I love how they have wine service so promptly! The show has a nice crew to keep it flowing smoothly, if you know what I mean!
Three wonderful men with such presence on screen AND off.. such characters, yes, best episode ever for me!
James Blunt is wonderful human being also. He's a newbie compared to these legends but I wish he could have been on the couch with them the whole time. He would have soaked up their stories like a sponge.
This is was so fabulous! I love these guys! Just hilarious!
My birthday came early this year!
This is by far the best Graham Norton show ever! I thought tha the one with Benedict Cumberbatch and the teddy bear was great, but this one is amazing.
Such gentleman, such funny and intelegent men! Great actors! Great artists!
Love, love, love all 3 of them!
How have I not seen this one before, I thought I'd watched most of them (some, several times), I laughed all the way through this, great episode!
This episode and the one with Matt Damon, Bill Murray and Hugh Bonneville in it... Best two of the episodes on television !
These three need to make a comedy together
Laughing and crying at the same time. Love this show. I was looking for Tom Hiddleson.
Thank you so much for this, such a good quality :) And guests were amazingly playfull and so personal this time.
I'll drink to that :)))
I hope so.
Robert Cornelius haha, how?😂
This show promotes Alcoholism.
I loved this show so much thankyou for sharing, the thing i like the most about graham , is that he is funny and he allows his guests to have fun, and talk to each ohter, not interrumping them, or tries to get attention. By the way this is one of the best guestes ever, they are delightful, funny, talented, how can you not love them?
So cute that they all sang Happy Birthday to James Blunt! He looked really happy !
Wonderful to see these two fine brit actors and seeing their close friendship! And then Hugh Jackman representing the younger generation!!! Love it!
All of my favourite Graham Norton guests have been X-Men - these 3 plus James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender because they all have an amazing chemistry together and are obviously friends away from the films.
Probably the most genuinely funny and heartwarming episode I´ve seeen.
This was such a fun show with these three guests!
Ive watched this episode about 5 times in the past year, i just love their bond and love for one another
