  • It wouldn’t be a Samsung product launch without some controversy. As documented by MKBHD, CNBC, & The Verge, the screen on the Samsung Galaxy Fold might be more fragile than anticipated. To help me break it all down, Lew from Unbox Therapy is here to help me set the record straight.

Galaxy is sooo much better than apple. Just because this phone is super expensive and breaks sort of easily it’s still so much better than apples crappy iPhones SMH...

    samsung is a fail 🙄🤭🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️
Samsung is so competitive to the point that They released a failed phone(s) opps 🤫😂
if it’s apple they will be bashing it too much 🤦🏻‍♂️( yet apple still #1)
Apple release phones carefully unlike samsung 🤷🏻‍♀️ keep releasing many phones that fails 😆🤫🤭
When Apple released expensive phones they bashed it
But samsung released more expensive phones (and its a failure 🤣) like whaat? 🤦🏻‍♂️seriously??
Samsung even released a video bashing apple (they are so bitter about the greatness of Apple 🤪)
Samsung is very unprofessional company for doing that boo👎🏻👎🏻
Apple is a great phone ♥️🙂

if this was Apple that released this... they would be getting killed on the internet. I can see it now.... "foldgate".... "creasegate".... but because it's Samsung.... never mind.

I am not ok with paying 4x the price of your average phone, or 2x the price of the latest and greatest flagship to be a test subject. If you're charged a premium price you should get a premium product. If you are Samsung you without a doubt want to make money and to some extent to do that you need to be first to market with these massive changes to the way we perceive technology, but there is also the perception of reputation and quality and value. If I was Samsung and I wanted to eventually put this product to market, either slash the price for the first generation to an appropriate price, or test it thoroughly to ensure people get what they expect from a Samsung product.

If Samsung and Huawei don't push the boundaries nothing will ever move forward, look at Apple they have not innovated anything since iPhone 6

  • Nigel Thorn

Does it have an on board open shut counter. That would be helpful to user and company for real world data if something goes wrong with the hinge.

I personally think Samsung rushed the Fold because of pressure from Huawei. (The company they contracted the foldable tech too is being investigated for IP theft)
I think Samsung is handling it VERY well though, at least they're recalling the unit rather than just offering a blanket fix *cough* Apple with their keyboards
I really can't wait for the next generation of this product. I won't be buying a foldable phone until a more stock manufacturer releases a phone (Google, OnePlus, etc) or until it's flashable with near stock android.
I'm happy Samsung is taking these risks to innovate and recreate the cellphone.

This discussion was very good, but I think it's main problem is that it's not a phone that turns into a tablet but a tablet that turns into a phone, if the outer screen is not fixed in the future generations, I will be extremely disappointed, bit this discussion was very good

Terrible acting...these two are bought and paid for sell outs. And if you think they aren't biased you're not watching them carefully. The phone is crap and they can't just admit it. The more they talk the more they are describing themselves

They can try as many new things as they want, BUT don't sell unfinished, experimental products to the public with such a premium price and such high promises. That's just like a Kickstarter scam.

I think we can establish that you are a sellout. I have been avidly following your videos since I saw your iPhone bendgate but after your defense of this crappy phone I think I'm going to unsubscribe. Can't trust you for truthful reviews anymore. Byeee

  • DJZ

Why do all reviewers assume that if a consumer's new phone break, it's some sort of a total loss? They return it for a refund or for a replacement and will have a warranty.

I just want to know if this will lead to the Fold 2. Get to the Fold 3, and it'll the next Note. But it got a Note 7 experience right out the gate! Sadly only time will tell if the Fold will make.

I suspect the Galaxy Fold will do for the phone market what Philips CD-i did for the gaming market. It may be a conversation piece now, but is a disputed warranty claim waiting to happen and will in no time seem as dated as the first sliding phones.

  • Dave Hammond
Dave Hammond 7 months ago +1

No sorry guys - we don't have to understand - its NOT a kickstarter - it wasn't a beta - developer version - it was the PREMIUM SMART FONE - for 2000 dollars - so no - you need to call this for what it is - NOT READY - that doesn't mean they shouldn't try new form factors - try develop - but they HAVE to have a better approach that 4 out of 10 reviewers had significant issues - I completely disagree that we have to just 'understand' its new and needs a different fresh perspective - 'nobody saying its durable ????? Except Samsung are - here its tested 200 000 times - well that effort is great for hinges but the screens are crap - stop whitewashing the facts

You seem to have it back to front. The fact that only a handful of people have these phones, and that a handful of them have this problem, and in such a short space of time, means the failure rate is extremely high and should be very worrying! Especially as there is no time between these reviews, and the launch!

The concept is amazing, but Samsung's execution on the screen build wasn't up to the standard that it needs to be. I guess if they can come back from phones that catch on fire, they can come back from anything. Apple is probably sitting back waiting for everyone else to figure out the bugs and then will drop the iFold in 2023

  • William Urb

Please stop talking about this foldable phone. Most people won't even get them as they are so expensive and I don't think phone tech is not there yet to really be that good. Yes is innovating but not there yet. Let the companies take their time to perfect this but Samsung had to rush as there were other companies also playing with the tech. But Samsung wanted to be ahead so it bit them in the ass. Let's move on. I know can't afford that phone or an I phone for that matter. I use mid range phone that do the work well. And if I want a tablet then I'll just use mine. Phone are big enough already so I just don't understand the tablet and phone concept. Stupid..

  • Myreon Smith

this for isnt new why do yall keep saying that? this isnt that, we want NEW at our current price point not new for more, the faster tech gets the cheaper it gets yet we(the consumer) keep seeing prices get higher and higher yet we cant give products higher scrutiny??? WHY!!!!!!
