I have a powerful disliking for the Lannisters, aside from Tyrion. He's the only halfway decent man from that house. But, I agree they are the most fascinating family. The relationships are so complex and intriguing. A wonderful video, by the way.

Not sure if ur a troll or just dumb but I meant the author of the text, not the book.

    • JCO2able
      JCO2able 4 years ago

+Eis Dämon actually the author is wrong about Tyrion's eye colour, in the books he has one black and the other green, Targaryens have purple/blueish eyes. His hair is described has having pale blond and black hair, not necessarily silver. Cersei and Jaime are more likely to be Aerys' bastards, it is implied that Aerys laid with Joanna on her wedding night with Tywin and the twins are a few years older than Tyrion, making it impossible for him to be conceived during the bedding, but not impossible for the twins. And also referred here before, the mental similarities between Tyrion and Tywin, the tendency that Cersei and Jaime have for incest, the Targaryen duality for both greatness (Jaime) and madness (Cersei) and if you think about it, Joffrey's kind of cruelty is much closer to Aerys' than to Tywin's. The dragon dreams are the only 'evidence' to support the Tyrion Targaryen theory, i don't think it has a lot of meaning behind it.

    • Shalin Woodman
Shalin Woodman 4 years ago +1

+Javi Domartin na i don't think so. tyrion dreamed of dragons when he was a child like the other tagaryens did. and in the book he's decribed as a silver haired, pale man. ans tywin doesn't get tired of telling him that he isn't his son.
maybe just read : asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/53017-tyrion-as-a-targaryen/ i didn't write that text but i think the author is right

    • Javi Domartin
      Javi Domartin 4 years ago

+Eis Dämon I think we all accept the high possibility of and affair between Joanna and Aerys (remember conversation between Barristan and Daenerys). If Tyrion was a bastard Tywin would have killed him because a dwarf means dishonor to the House. Otherwise Jaime and Cersey were like perfect babies.
Other facts to consider are the incest relation between the twins so common in the Targs and the conversation when Gena told Jaime that Tyrion was Tywin true son.

+Timelord Pandemonius even though I can't stand them (adore Tyrion though) especially Cersei I can understand how the lannisters came to be how they are and the motivations behind the actions Tywin was a horrible father yes but he got caught up rebuilding the reputation and respect for the family Cersei was forced into a marriage with a drunken lech who made it clear he didn't love her making her bitter and tired and Jaime I think just got swept along with Cerseis crazy and pushed Bran out of the window because in that moment it was a choice between the woman he loved and their children and a child who was akin to a stranger and he's slowly changed from that arrogant prick to a guy that's finally rid of Cerseis toxic influence and gone to the good side

    • Blair K
      Blair K Year ago +1

Timelord Pandemonius - You could ask fans of the Stark family if they are really in favor of starting a whole war because your lord's head was chopped off. The Lannister house is one of the most interesting ones, I agree, but then again, all the houses are extremely interesting to me. My favourite character is Tyrion, and because of that I kind of hate the Lannisters like he does. I find the Starks and Targaryens the most interesting, because they're the ones with the longest history, with the Others, the wights, and the wall in the north, and for the targaryens there's dragons, Valyria, and all the places to the east (Asshai for example).

  • roger verhees
    roger verhees 5 years ago

So my point is this: Lysa Arryn killed her husband, Joffrey sent the assassin after Bran and Cersei TRIED to stop Joffrey from killing Ned Stark. Cersei is not evil, when she was young a prophecy said she'd have to watch all her kids (and she believes this prophecy to be true cause other things said in the prophecy also came true), so she is a super protective lioness fighting to keep her children safe. The Tyrells were with Renly a week before so they are traitors and are a threat to her

  • roger verhees
    roger verhees 5 years ago

I read the books, Look it up on the game of thrones wikipedia, or read the books. Joffrey sent the assassin after Bran cause he wanted love from Robert, and Robert being a warrior badass said it'd be merciful if Bran died. Lysa Arryn killed her husband cause Jon was giving her son away 2 be raised by Stannis. Stannis - Jon were starting a war with Tywin cuz of Cersei - Jaime incest and Lysa fears Tywin will murder her sick young child (she already lost 3 kids & her Family comes first)

  • Peter Wright
    Peter Wright 5 years ago

Stop guessing about the characters you do not know anything about it (apparently) Actually pay attention to the series and you might learn something.

  • Peter Wright
    Peter Wright 5 years ago

Yes Joffery killed the bastard children, I have since found that out, But you can not be stupid enough to think joffery hired an assassin to kill Bran, or that Lysa killed Joh Arryn, those were both the deeds of Jaime and Cersei. And you do remember when Cersei threatened to strangle Marjorie in her sleep, for calling her a sister, don't you? Plus Joffery is actually a Lannister if you remember the whole incest thing.

  • roger verhees
    roger verhees 5 years ago

Joffrey was the one who sent the order to kill Roberts bastards, Joffrey was the one who sent the assassin to kill Bran, cause he heard Robert Baratheon say that a boy can't have a future without legs in this world and it would be merciful if he died, Joffrey was the one to kill Ned, and Lysa Arryn killed Jon Arryn. The world hates house Lannister cause of Tywins hardcoreness, and Cersei doesn't trust/love any1 but her family because of it, Cersei is an incompetent ruler/parent, but never evil

  • roger verhees
    roger verhees 5 years ago

And losing a mother and getting only tough love from a father who is almost never home has made Cersei, Jaime & Tyrion psychotic to get love, whether it be with whores & alcohol or distrusting every1 and loving only eachother. Same as Cersei, Arya also has good reasons to do what she did, but that doesn't change the fact that they are both psycho. It's funny how the hound lost his family and lives on hate and loves to kill, and Arya judges him wrong, but does the exact same

  • roger verhees
    roger verhees 5 years ago

Tywin just gives tough love. He teaches love for family, competence & intelligence > honor & do not let people take advantage of you as they did with Tytos, Tywins dad. Jaime has the reputation & fighting skills and Tywin puts him in a room to study books 3 hours a day for years, Tyrion has intelligence but no will to rule and Tywin makes him hand of the king and gives him command of a part of the army, Cersei has love of family but too little skills to rule.

  • Smoucan McFrootLoops
Smoucan McFrootLoops 5 years ago +1

and I don't see Arya as a psychotic child... she's the product of being left alone in a cruel world WAY too young.she's seen the death of her dad and her brother as well a having lost all her remaining siblings... sorry to say, but that would turn me into a cold killer too... all considered Arya has turned out incredibly well , her circumstances taken into consideration...

  • Smoucan McFrootLoops
    Smoucan McFrootLoops 5 years ago

I love love love Cersei... I really do - but I'll have to disagree - reading the books Arya is not as psychotic as I first believed she would have been. She really isn't...Nor is Cersei. Honestly - Cersei is a product of the horrible teaching of Tywin (and as much as I adore him, he is a TERRIBLE dad) so I feel more sorry for Cersei than most fictional characters. But I see next to no connection between her and the Stark-girls...

I'm not saying I'd do the same thing. I'm saying I see how she thought. And she doesn't know for a fact Joffrey provoked it. Thank you, girl. For defend me! For remind all of this haters that Cersei Lannister is a crazy bitch because she had many hurts in her past. Cersei isn't anything else but a sad woman with her life, since her mother had died. And fearful about hear future and the life of that ones that she truly loves. Her children.

  • Kyosgirl92
    Kyosgirl92 5 years ago

She might not have done anything but that doesn't mean that she won't in the future. Even domesticated wild animals still can end up attacking for no reason. It's in their instincts. But that's just my opinion. I still hate what she's done but I can see her mind thinking what she did was right

  • Kyosgirl92
    Kyosgirl92 5 years ago

Okay. For some reason I got that from some of the scenes Joffrey did it. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. I just misunderstood it. Or I'm getting it confused with another scene where Joffrey did something and Cersei was blamed for it. I haven't seen it in a little while. As for the wolf. As someone who wants children. A direwolf being around when another attacked my child would be something I didn't want. I feel like she still would have asked for Lady's execution even if Nymeria hadn't been sent away.

  • Wicker _
    Wicker _ 5 years ago

First of all you are wrong, it was Cersei who ordered the murder of all of the bastard children, Joffery had no reason to, since he thinks he has the largest claim to throne, Cersei did it so they would pose no threat if they challenged the kings illegitimate son for the throne, since he is actually Jaimes son just like the rest of her children. Lastly she killed a dire wolf that had nothing to with the attack, it was like executing a man for anthers crime.

  • Kyosgirl92
    Kyosgirl92 5 years ago

looks out for her own. For Jaime and her children (I have no rationalizing for Bran) Except I might be wrong might I'm pretty sure there was more to the second attempt on his life then we have seen as of yet

  • Kyosgirl92
    Kyosgirl92 5 years ago

So I don't like Cersei. I find her interesting but I don't like her. Still wasn't it Joffery who ordered the children slaughtered. I could be wrong but I thought he had done it and she had no idea. One thing about Cersei is that she is intelligent. She knows how to keep the people on her side. Killing children does not do that. That's a bonehead Joffrey move and as for the dire wolves her son was attacked by one. Whether he provoked it or not. One thing that can be said about her is she

  • Wicker _
    Wicker _ 5 years ago

I do not condemn so much for that, but more for her having 28 bastard children murdered in cold blood, and also having one of the dire wolves killed for no reason at all. But most of all for her sickening smile in every single scene she is in. Did I mention she and her brother tried to have Bran killed?.... Twice!!

Bottom line- The Lannisters are as good or as evil as ANY of the other houses including the Starks. They just do what they do BETTER. The Starks are no more noble or good than the Lannisters. In fact they are worse because at least the Lannisters acknowledge they do cruel things for power.

  • Wicker _
    Wicker _ 5 years ago

She had her reasons but they were not justified. She had, what? 6 maybe seven children and infants brutally murdered. And remember she was about to poison her child and herself when there was a chance of kings landing falling. Also when ever she is wearing that smug grin of hers (always) I want to rip her face off and feed it to the dire wolf she had killed for no reason.

  • Evija3000
    Evija3000 5 years ago

You said Arya killed for pleasure. That's why I had to defend her. In that moment you were basically the same as people who exaggerate the bad in Cersei.

  • Wicker _

By he way, you do remember when Cersei ordered the deaths of all of Roberts bastard children, do you not?

  • Wicker _

You do know that you are just guessing don't you? Do not pretend for a second that you know the writers exact thoughts on the way the characters think. And anyway when Arya kills people it is completely justified.

Well Arya, unlike Cersei, is capable of trust, friendship, honesty, love, sword fight and being smart for her age. Plus she's more or less a child. Those things make her way more likable than Cersei.
What things are you referring to? That they both wish they were born a boy? Because that's the only parallel I see between them.

I am sorry if i am wrong, but I can not remember a scene where she killed anyone for anything other than self defense or revenge. Can you tell me a scene where this is not the case?

I think because we see spunky young Arya transform and she seems to respond naturally to her life. We tend to connect with it better.
Like appreciating the up and coming college student versus the person they are 20 years later.

Hmm, actually as far as I remember Arya has had only one moment of murdering madness... after her brother and mother were killed and mocked. In that case a lot of the favorite characters are psychotic... think of how Tyrion bashed a man's face with a shield or how Daenerys emptily watched her brother die and burned several people. Or Jaime needlessly killing the Stark men in Kings Landing. Not to mention Boltons, Walder Frey, both Cleganes, Joffrey, etc... That's just how that world is.

I'd be the same way, if not worse.

Love how George portrays them in the books when they're having a snowball fight as children. Jaime loves Tyrion, but Tyrion is a complete asshole back to him and steals away from him what he valued most, Cersei. In the books Tyrion is the real asshat, not Jaime.

Think of what Arya has had to experience and see in her 10 years compared to Sersei in her ~25 years. And i'm guessing you haven't read the books if you don't see the psychotic side of Cersei.
I'm not hating her. But I do think that she's incredibly egoistic, proud, manipulative and quite bad tempered. However that combined with her love for her children, bad childhood and her hidden vulnerability makes her an interesting character. In similar way I think that Arya is an interesting character.
