This actually happened to my atheltics trainer quite a while back when he was still competing. He was the dutch national champion at the time, but also teaching mathematics. Students read about him in the newspaper and believed they could beat him. My trainer stopped the lesson and went to the track and field to race them, result was the students getting their ass wooped in that race.

The "illusion of uncertainty" that @Beyond was talking about refers to OP's comment, saying "Proud & ashamed at the same time".
Proud - because his son passed the test.
Ashamed - because his son lost the race.
This proves what @Beyond said, that the Dad already has deterministic outcome for each individual situation. Hence, the dad cannot be refered to as "Schrodinger's Dad".

Apparently he was one of the first teachers that my mother said she agreed with in how I am. Yeah I did this with my high school nephew when I was 42 and I beat him right up until I blew out not one but both hamstrings. I couldn't walk straight for 3 months π€£ and have not even thought about sprinting since.

This reminds me of our high school teacher who used to play with us (when vacation's almost near and there's no more lessons) that was fun. I was on my second year in high school yet I felt like a kid again, same with those classmates I never knew would play along

How physical posture ties into drag

Same thing happened to me in high school sophomore year. Challenge of my algebra teacher to pull-up contest. He was extremely tall thin and scrawny with no muscle. He destroyed me in front of the whole class. It was pretty awesome.
