On this episode of Beyond the Tide, Coyote and Mark find two MONSTER Frogfish while scuba diving in Hawaii!

Along with being director Mark’s favorite animal, these angler fish are amazingly bizarre! They can swim like a fish, hop along the seafloor like a frog, and swallow prey the same size as themselves!

They also have the unique ability to attract their prey with a lure like appendage, which is responsible for their common nickname the “angler fish”. This is literally a fish that goes fishing for its meals…it’s pretty incredible to see!

Get ready to witness the wonder of one of the world’s most interesting aquatic creatures!

HUGE thanks to Dive Masters Mike Hanna and Brian O’Hara for making this adventure possible and keeping Coyote and Mark safe on this scuba diving adventure! If you’re ever in Kauai and want a first class scuba diving experience make sure to contact Mike and Brain and tell them Coyote sent you! -

I love how gentle and respectful he always is with all animals. His love for knowledge comes in the form of responsibility for life and well being. That's very noble!

Lets take some time to appreciate that amazing title scene. Great choice of title, great choice of ocean scenery, and the best sea creature ever to exist reaching up out of the water, grabbing the title, and yanking it back into the water, and the music is perfect. Absolutely amazing.

I'm so glad that Mark's childhood dream came true! Glad that the crew got to enjoy such a remarkable fish. Thanks for the new episode, Coyote! Content like yours is truly rare in a place like TheXvid, it really reminds me of the good old days, when I always watched National Geographic. Educational. But you in cable television, giving us truly amazing experiences from the comfort of our homes, along with the warmth of your smiles!

The first fish is really confused after it's placed in the aquarium and bumped into the glass. 😮

Such a great video, those frogfish were awesome! I think it's crazy how they can sit on the ocean floor like they do and actually walk underwater. Can't wait for other Beyond the Tide episodes in the future!
