    In most of these clay pot rice shops, the Chinese sausages are way undercooked, After only 5 minutes or so in the cooking rice pot, there is not cooking time for the sausages to infuse the rice with their flavour. This is the price one pays eating it outside, where they try to speed things up in order to process more customers.

    Wish I’d known about the clay pot thing at the night market. Only thing I really ate in Hong Kong and Kowloon was braised beef brisket. Both on rice and in a noodle soup. I became obsessed with beef brisket, after the first or second meal. I think it was in the basement of the Chung King Hotel

    God, I would so die for an authentic Clay Pot rice. When I was little, I tried the Clay Pot rice in Guangzhou, and till this day, I still can’t forget how delicious it was. It’s so hard to find a good spot here in Southern California for Clay Pot rice.

    The crusty rice at the bottom of the pot is not universally craved. Some folks prefer softer rice, and with softer rice, you can eat everything up. It all boils down to a matter of personal preference. Four seasons is a great place, bigger and probably busier than the other joint, but one time I went there, and it was in the early evening, I ordered preserved sausage rice, and to my disappointment, they told me they ran out of liver sausage.

    Ive been doing my own version of this dish with a small cast iron pan, right on the burner, with a lid, until the bottom is browned and crispy and delicious. Tonight I'm throwing some Chinese sausage on the skillet with some onions and let it all brown up together with the rice. Thanks Mikey!!

    I had the worse food at Temple Street. It was expensive and not good. It was crowded because tourists did not know better. They swamped to Temple Street thinking you can get good food.
    The clay pot rice you had was burned. The best one has a crust on the bottom but not burned. That was the difference between good and bad.

    God I truly love Hongkong food.
    there sooo many good food.
    Yam Cha is my favorite too.
    the Hongkong white fried rice and
    the Duck Noodles soup soo yummy too.
    and the Hongkong porridge is soooo yummy.
    many Taiwanese said that hongkong people's are not friendly and rude.
    but it's not true because I stay long years in Hongkong and all I know Hongkong people's are nice and Hongkong people's is clean.
    in Taiwan the people I know is very dirty and not friendly.
    I stay in Hongkong for 11 years and in Taiwan for about two years.
    so I will say that hongkong people's are nice, clean, hard work and the food are better than Taiwan too

    This is not good. It’s now commercialised and all the rice is precooked. It was horrible when I went. Most of the local ones are better since they actually make it to order.
