i feel sad knowing that i relate to the indian-american girl so much...asian parents can be want to talk to about everything but they’d never be accepting of it EVER. The part where she said how the walls have already been built with the weak foundation really hit close to home...

Lol. "The first source of stress in your life comes from your parents." I know a LOT of people who had both their parents die when they were young.. their first source of stress was surviving on their own.

I understand the Indian girl soo well. I am Somali and I totally understand the pressure to succeed. My parents are immigrants so they understand hardship and want the best opportunities for me. But this is a double edge because what they believe is the best path is a career in law or being a doctor and starting a family. I wish there was more options or representation of what success is in my family. They are very one minded. However, its taught me not to take things for granted because there is no trust fund or back up plan unless I make it on my own. My family will always support me and I can tell the same for that Indian girl but its how to support me best is the problem. I have anxiety and my mum hasn’t heard of mental health issues other than someone being “crazy”. Lucky for me I have a older sister who understands and recommended therapy which I start.
