- This is the most expensive cocktail I made on this channel. Black truffle 1 oz cost more than $100
I infused it with Japanese Whiskey Hibiki. Made Clear Ice with Evian Spring Water. Added a few dashes of the black walnut bitters and a tiny amount of Cherry Syrup. Garnished with Gold Amarena Cherry.

In France we keep truffles, especially already sliced ones in port so for your next recipe think of a port based one as truffle are so full of flavor you do not even need any in the cocktail .
Try something , take an egg , put a slice of truffle around it and cover it with cling film and leave it 24h in your fridge . Next day break your egg and make an omelet or fry it and it will have a really strong smell of the truffle and you can put the truffle slice back in port to save it ...free flavor !
NB : Because of the porous egg shell if will work with everything but with truffle or vanilla it worth doing it as they are very expensive .

@eyespy3001 Balance. If it was deliberately diluted to the point where he made it then its perfect. Clear ice with that shape was already tested to melt really slow, so you'd have to fall asleep at the counter for it to dilute substantially

"french spring water" is the most common bottled water in switzerland, after our own of course. its really not special. its just water. but take that with a grain of salt as here our tap water is just as good.

Normally I don’t order more than one drink, but THAT one was as addictive as a Vesper, and I proceeded to order another 3.

I've noticed this too and I think she does this to keep her channel slightly relevant. So with these comments she builds her brand with the hope of creating a trickle back to her page through the tick meaning she'll nearly be assured to be a top comment and get 1000s of upvotes. @derpyDoggo You're completely wrong. Gold leaf is Definitely real gold. Usually 24k too. It's just extremely light weight. It is so thin that a sheet barely registers on a scale.
Also, gold isn't all that expensive. Gold plating is found on basically every disposable electronic in existence. I tore down a dollar store radio yesterday and even it had gold pins.
Edit: If you really wanted to gold back, you"lol shit it out intact too ;). Our stomach uses hydrochloric acid, which is nowhere near strong enough to dissolve gold. It just flows through you unscathed.
@derpyDoggo They do. Gold leaf is thin. Really thin. A single millimetre would have 8,000 sheets of leaf. A matchbox sized bar of gold when made into leaf would cover a tennis court. A book of 24 karat gold leaf costs easily double the value of gold it contains.

It depends how pure the gold is that varies the price but you can add diamonds and gold as a garnish to any dish and drink and call it expensive, although the truffle and Japanese whiskey is expensive by itself without the gold garnish

About Evian, it is an interesting case. Evian is quite cheap in France and in other European countries but for some reason it is apparently a premium brand in the US - I've seen many references to it as being perceived as expensive/classy over there. If you acted all posh in France because you drink Evian people would laugh in your face.

Evian spelled backwards is Naive. That is because it is sold as a high end water but if you look at the fine print on the back, it says "source, Las Angeles municipal water distric". So only very Naive people buy it.

Meanwhile in France, we use Evian on a daily bases and it's THE most common water brand you'll find in vending machines, convenience store or any supermarket. It's almost as if he said "For my most expensive cocktail I'll be using this water that is locally sourced", and then he proceeds to use tap-water.

I couldn't imagine what flavors would complement truffle but he totally pulled if off. Black walnut sounds perfect and then cherry to add a fruity tartness. Aromatics of the forest and soil. That is some next-level flavor artistry!
