I have been making this granola for so many years I can't remember. Now I realize how lucky I was to come across this recipe. This recipe is even though very basic and stands alone, it can be modified by adding more of your favorite nuts and fruits.
Make trail mix by adding pieces of chocolate. Dark chocolate especially.
    2/3 cup sesame seeds
    1/2 cup slivered blanched almonds
    1/2 cup sunflower seeds
    1/4 cup butter
    3/4 cup cashew nuts
    1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
    1/3 oil
    4 cups old fashioned oatmeal
    1/3 cup honey
1/8 combination molasses and maple syrup
3/4 cup currants or your favorite dried fruit

Can you make it into bars?

@Marjorie Vangenewitt I thought you were asking about the English Toffee. Then I realize you meant the granola bars.Absolutely you can make bars but not with this recipe. The recipe would need a lot more stickiness, meaning more sugar baked into the ingredients. Want more sugar...I can do that, I will look into it for you and post something soon.
