It's really unfortunate that the execution of this movie was so poor, because the premise is really something I would like to see being handled in a proper way; I love stories about a rivalry between two contrasting companies (or gangs), Axel Turner and Camp Star remind me of Jeffrey Katzenberg and DreamWorks, some of the visuals are great, and the contrast between amateurs (Camp Rock) and professionals (Camp Star) is a topic I find both relevant and intriguing. Same with the contrast between the music itself and the visuals/performance

I think you’re taking this way too seriously. It’s a fine movie for kids, and it’s not trying to be manipulative. There’s no bad messages or implications here. You’re not the target demographic for this movie, so why complain?

I haven't seen Mary Poppins Returns, so I can't say too much, but I also see no reason why we needed it in the first place. The original is already as good as it can be and ended on a perfect note, and I really can't imagine that it will top the original considering the latter's success and iconic status

    • Unicorn Bunny
      Unicorn Bunny 6 months ago

StrasbergProtégé That’s true. For me, I’d rather watch Enchanted. Actually, speaking of fairytale musicals and Mary Poppins, what are your thoughts on Mary Poppins Returns?

Ok if I was working as a summer counselor for (probably) minimum wage, and some guy offered to hire me on the spot and double my salary, um bye bitch, hell yes I'm leaving. The "soul of the music" and synchronized dance numbers on the beach are not going to pay for my college tuition.
Also, how would Camp Rock ever go out of business? This fictional world's equivalence of the Jonas Brothers are running a camp for young teens (especially in the height of their popularity), young teens would come from all over the country to attend. The waiting list would be a mile long. It's just a stupid ploy to cause drama and I'm not a fan.

Does Doug know that the main girl is Demi Lovato? He didn't mention it so I don't know. She was also the princess in Princess Protection Program. She wasn't a great actor there so I don't know if she's any better here but the movie is bad so who cares, I guess.Glad she moved on to a music career now, though. I think she's better at that than acting.

In regards to that smile. This, and her time on Sonny With a Chance, was during Demi Lovato dark period. Where she was being bullied in school and under heavy pressure by Disney to the point of cutting herself. So that smile was completely forced.
I recall watching Sonny With Chance, thinking how horrible she looked whenever she flashed full grill.

    • Micaela Marsiglio
      Micaela Marsiglio Year ago

He didn't complain about that her smile was force, he complains that she was permanently smiling, which is obviously because the director told her to do so. Thats why the critic says she looks like a robot, because she is always smiling.

No Prime immotile had a name. Names were derived from a communications system completely different from their species’ direct nerve impulse linkages. They did of course have ways of identifying each other. Immotiles even in their group cluster form were above all individual, a factor that sprang out of their early history’s territorialism. Alliances between them were built and fractured with reliable regularity in their planet’s premechanization age, when even the closest partnerships were liable to be swiftly discarded if an advantage could be pursued with another. Disputes in those days were always over the size of territory and the available resources-mainly fresh water and farmland. Little changed over the millennia.

  • EmmanuelleLunada2010

I agree that Chloe Bridges (Dana) was perhaps the most genuine of the actors. Though I wasn't particularly fond of the Nate/Dana subplot, since I found it contrived and pointless, I agree that Chloe seemed more genuine and spirited out of the actresses. Not to slam the rest of the bunch, but at least she had a genuine spirit.

I would love to see like a reverse version of this movie. Where the big scary company funded group ends up being more about the music and fans then the protagonist but their are just so spiteful of their success that they fight against them. You know showing that sometimes selling out doesn’t kill art but with the help of other talented people you can make your stuff even better.
