Kanye West switching his character straight from Angel to Demon is what he's all about.
@Oddman bro hes going thru stuff for years stop dkriding him
Bro what? “Being bipolar and having mental health issues is soooo kanye” no it’s not, he is going through hard time rn, why acting like it’s “his thing”
So hes talking about his bipolar disorder?
@ricardodelacrvz samples take skill too
@JGM R6 hey I dont listen to a lot of rap lately. Rap is stupid music for the most part yes I listen to drake kendrick some j cole black thought DOOM the new nas album sometimes but Im more into real music black sabbath, led zeppelin, pink floyd. rap is detrimental for the psyche. its all about money and accolades and stupid narcissism and dikriders on the hype. its childs music. no musicality only samples
Sometimes Fantano puts too much weight on having a perfect and clever verse that is topical and not “cringe.” I personally think the real ness and heart of Kanye’s verse is killer. He’s the only rapper who says what’s actually on his mind, 100% true to himself and his life, never about superficial stuff. One of my favorite Kanye verses in a while and on a sick beat
@Daniel Remian bruh yeah idk how people hating that’s a top tier Kanye verse imo
Ok but when Drake says what he’s actually thinking and it’s cringe you guys say it sucks but when Kanye does it it’s amazing
Just say you don't listen to rap music and go on
this comment is a big W
@PL ' zoomers cant handle emotions, what's new?
I think it's hypocritical going against Kanye for not sounding cool about his rage or for not sounding polished while venting. He's literally riding off his raw emotions and talking about his kids being spoilt while acting spoilt himself. It's honest, it's genuine and that right there is being a true artist.
@French Toast Kanye isn't being vunerable, he's being toxically macho. He indeed needs to man up and get over himself and do some serious reflecting.
@French Toast for real when he tweeted him to “man up”, it was so interesting to seem him back peddle becausehe knew he said some shit… but it shows what he thinks abouthow men should act
@Weird Ally it seems to me he has very little experience of relationships
Melon has this weird hate against male artists being vulnerable, ironically shoving toxic masculinity and telling these artists to man up instead of “whining”. It’s weird
Of course he's coming from a place of insecurity. This is a sad song. If he was confident it wouldnt be a sad song. Art is about letting your inner world show through, and it's exactly what Ye does. It's a phenomenal song in my opinion and it really touched me.
@Cat Glover Bruh, you're wrong about so many things, but I won't be the one to tell you.
Ñ
@Alakrán How is it insecure
It's a regression to what he was creating since ye, he was improving with his way of jesus and shit, but now dissing his ex-wife just because yes, it shows a childish attitude
@tikifreakazoid trying to cover up insecurity is a feeling and a mood and that's what Ye presents us in this song. I have felt like this many times. I relate to this song and the feeling Ye put on it. I dont know if its intentional or not, probably a bit of both, but it doesnt really matter, the song is the end result, and It resonates with people, that's why its quality art in my opinion.
I’m pretty sure 90% of people would feel insecure about going through a divorce, and Kanye is an artist so being able to put that insecurity into music works great for me, how are y’all thinking that’s a bad thing?
Cuz it’s cringe
@Nonya Business Em wasn't doing fine all those years ago when he was popping pills and livin' hard.
@NaziPunchingFartSmoker remember that time slim shady rapped about tossing bodies over the bridge; and his daughter helped him. Bonnie Clyde 97 . Can't believe he did it! Oh wait. He didn't. He was just expressing how he felt. His daughter is okay and Eminem is doing just fine. Put 2 and 2 together. It's just a song.
@Based god cope
Kanye putting out that single cover after releasing two christian rap albums is pretty hardcore
Definitely not “hardcore”
Want to know what a definition of a STAN is? It’s Kassu H. Instead of calling this man a hypocrite and problematic. He said it’s “hardcore” to do this. Pathetic
Everyone is a sinner
@Saqib I’m a ye fan but come on he’s not that great
Honestly , the way Fantano missed on interpretation of this verse shows also why he has given lower scores to MBTF or Yeezus.
Kanye doesn't always want to always look cool and he is aware that people listening to his music are judging him. He wants to be judged
Expects it. He prefaces or ends most of his verses with a commentary.
Here it was saying that he is talking more out of hurt pride than anything else. On MBTF on Power he says that he is omnipowerful etc but then has lines "you don't sleep" and crazy laugh with ending on suicidal ideation. On Yeezus he repeats "I'm a God" and then the second half of a song he screams in terror and hyperventiles suggesting the events surrounding the death of his mother.
I'm not saying that all Kanye lyrics are top notch, genius level or that there is no cringe or anything like it, but Ye is more self-aware than people are giving him credit.
Let ke Slim Shady!
Fantano think he’s really soooo smart from his moms house little bedroom.
he honestly completely missed the point, great comment
I don’t think kanye meant he was actually going to beat pete Davidson’s ass, I took it as he was saying that his life has gotten to the point where those thoughts are coming into his head. I think the whole point of the verse was to show what’s really going on in his mind (which happens to be a lot of insecurity). I agree I didn’t love the verse, but I did find it interesting
Honestly I respectfully disagree with you melon. I think that this Single is an intriguing evolution from what Ye did on donda, and I understand what you mean when you say where is that runaway kanye. I believe that we'll get that type of music soon, but this song really encapsulates what he's feeling at the moment. I wouldn't call this insecure or delusional he is simply speaking about what he feels. I think anyone feeling emotionally wrecked isn't going to be a nice dude especially to the guy who just took his exwife. Ye is expressing those emotions through and through here, but hey i respect you're opinion my melon friend have a great day.
@Rat cool
true
@Dealth ok
to call this a run-on sentence would be an understatement
I love the track. Kanye’s appeal when it comes to lyricism is how transparent he’s always been. He will talk just as much at his most insecure and heartbroken as he will at his most confident.
Kanye skined an NFT for the cover
Good
Thats wealth
Well damn, haven't listened to him that much but now I have a massive amount of respect for him.
based kanye
Except it’s The Games cover for his song not Kanye’s 😂
dude i genuinely feel bad for kanye i hope he’s doing okay mentally man
I think that the rawness conveyed, what you may call insecurity, makes it artistically beautiful. To me, it encapsulates the weird feeling after ending a relationship, and the uncertainty of how you feel before having processed those emotions
Don’t let this distract you from the fact that he rated MBDTF 6/10
What makes this track good artistically is that he is truly speaking how he feels and does not censor his thoughts. We all know nobody likes they ex's new man, and he comes on here and just lays it out along with the rest of things happening in his life.
@Based god even if he does something that doesn’t put his reputation on the line people still find a way to find some stupid shit to complain about💀 he’s just like every other human, he shouldn’t have to live his life any different because people are overly opinionated when it comes to celebrities lives
Yeah but I believe Kanye should hold himself to a higher standard and not let this petty emotion show because it’s his reputation on the line. However, Kanye will do what Kanye wants and in itself you kind of have to respect it I guess?
I don’t care how crazy or immature it is, that Pete Davidson line killed me
@A Y I’m just saying it wasn’t that funny of a line. I don’t give a shit about Pete or skete. I just don’t get why it’s so funny. And if you’re that into celebrities lives like that. You probably are a kid or you need to find better use of your time.
@MasterVZ I think you are the kid lol it’s a stupid line in a song lol y’all acting like Kanye attacked him physically 😂😄🦁
It’s cause you’re probably a little kid still.
Hahaha same I don’t rally understand why everyone is making such a big deal out of it lol it was funny
As a person Kanye isn't my favorite but I do love his music. I respect that you are constructively criticizing that he's coming from a place of insecurity and not confidence, but it's raw emotion. Not what everybody expects of him to be feeling. That's what makes this a great song.
@fusion772 lol
He's awesome as a person and musically as well...
The vulnerable, but still cocky energy we get from Kanye in this verse is one of the main elements that has always made his music great
The game was hungry in this track like he always is , Kanye’s verse on this was way better than any of his verses he’s put out from his last 3 projects and the instrumental was a blend of nostalgic and hip hop this whole song together makes for the best rap song I’ve heard in a while period from anyone
As an artist he has the right to communicate how he’s feeling through his craft. The verse can come off sad to you but Ye is in a super sad situation with his family life. He’s trying to make us feel that
@Dissolute Individual he wasn’t trying to come off as anything, he was just being himself and we got what we got. Just cause he raps doesn’t mean he has to fit the “tough guy I’m so cool” stereotype
@Dissolute Individual he raps about being rich enough to buy the house next to his kids, having a hot new girl toy, being real, and being able to kick his baby mommas new boyfriends ass, what’s pathetic about that?
nah the exact problem is that the verse comes off as sad and pathetic but that’s not what kanye was aiming for, he was trying to come off as confident and badass but because the delivery and verses where so bad it did the opposite of that
I will forever regret wanting to have a cover that wasnt just a black square on a new kanye song
@someone He has 0 bad covers and maybe if youre a vegan this may offend you
It’s the game’s song..
@kunaal i thought it was cos it wasnt easy to look at
The cover isnt bad
This is a classic!! So much pain and truth bout this. I could see this on many movie soundtracks. I personally love rappers who speak of their life. His music is on his therapy.
I've gotta say Melon, I think you're off the mark on your thoughts regarding Ye's verse. There's no posturing, trying to be the good guy, framing, there's only a story of how Ye is feeling right now, and what he's going through. Yes its sad, because the situation is sad. Yes, he's coming off as insecure, as that's exactly how he's feeling. When did putting your feelings on a track become a bad thing?
I don't like how this open and vulnerable track has been reduced into a discussion about Pete Davidson. Whilst we're at it the Pete Davidson line is tongue in cheek, he's not actually threatening him. He's hurt by this whole situation, the breakdown of his marriage, the fact he can't be around his children, the fact his wife is moving on. Is he not allowed to feel jealous? vengeful? petty? he's human too. I think this level of openness is missing in a lot of songs these days, Ye has always been willing to put what he's been going through on wax, and this verse has a few great lines "Go to court together/Go to Kourts together", "Don't negotiate with therapists", "Boujie and Unruly need to do some chores". This is a great snapshot of what's going on for Ye right now, something we've all been excited to see - how will the divorce effect him? coparenting these children who've grown up in a very different lifestyle to his own childhood, seeing your ex wife move on, and I think the verse is great as it touches on each of these aspects, whilst including some classic cringe/corny Ye lines too.
Fantano has really fallen off, I appreciate everyone has their opinion and everyone is allowed to have that. Kanye isn't trying to come across as confident he's broken. I'm not even a big Kanye fan but this song hit me hard because it was the tale of a broken man falling apart his attempts at brag rapping were almost to protect himself from how much pain he's in. The lines about beating Pete Davidson ass are an expression of his insecurity and almost like all he has left is anger and violence from everything. Sure the track was awkward and uncomfortable to listen too but I believe that was his intention. To understand how uncomfortable and awkward he feels.
@eric storm Kanye isn't being vunerable, he's being toxic...Fantano called it sad, what he actually meant was that it was pathetic. Ye has hit a dead end relying on whack puns and "self-aware" arrogant attitude.
@Brandon Tucker wait, are you kidding? He’s an anti capitalist. He isn’t in the pocket of any corporations lmfao
@Skyler Silvia NO! there is a marked change in his critiques which seems to align with corporate interest.
@Wonder Bread For a guy who's can knock down any chick I'm sure he's far from an incel.
@Wonder Bread not the case, if you had read the comment correctly I am discussing how fantano is almost arrogant in the way he is attacking some of kanyes personal moments on the track. Again as mentioned in the comment I'm not a huge kanye fan but this track is different, I believe what people are seeing as infantile and corny I see as vulnerability and almost a lack of self so he resorts to what he knows. Not really about the track more abour fantano.
Sadly another very common fantano L take
Whenever Kanye raps with this conviction it's always memorable. For example, the new life of the party verse is cool, but the drake diss version stands out way more. I get that Kanye comes off as toxic and insecure in verses like that, but it just feels like that's the real emotion kanye suppresses on his album songs
@Ezenna Okotcha I think you sitting behind a phone or computer responding to me with some pseudo philosophical bullshit is pretty lame. BUT AYE we all human
@Ezenna Okotcha Mature perspective. I agree
@10huncho10
They hated you because you told the truth, thank you for your selfless service, soldier. o7
Y’all just like tmz drama
Yea i still have the one where he mentions drake (i dont think it was necessarily a “drake diss”) but that version was much better, i hate all that pausing he was doing in the newer version
I m not defending what Kanye is doing but I do understand the hurt. Dude had a family with Kim and she was who he went to after his moms death. To have that person leave you and you’re left on your own causes people to go down dark paths. Not defending it but saying I get it and it’s a lot easier to just say “fly straight”
“Never trust a happy song” - Grouplove
This song was fire🔥stop playin. I’m not focused on the gossip behind Kanye’s personal life. The song is super ill, especially for a hungry hip hop head. Kanye has never been known to be an elite MC, like Jay, Nas, Big and Pac. He’s said corny shit in his songs a lot of times. But he’s a genius musician and the drums on this song are heavenly. “Imma get that Thug Life tatted across the navel” 🔥
I can see where you’re coming from Melon Daddy, but it is so fucking hard to take what you’re truly thinking no matter how dark the thought is and publish it for all to judge and spectate. This is exactly why I love Kanye. He’s gonna speak on how he feels in present moment, high or low. I respect it.
I don’t know if he dropped the song cause of support or being badass, I’m pretty sure he’s just rapping about what he feels and what he feels might not always be morally justified
Anthony missed here. I don't think it could be more obvious that Kanye's verse isn't coming from egotism, as if he truly believes you're supposed to love him, No. The man literally prefaces his verse by exposing his own hypocrisy so that people wont get it twisted. 'God Ye, wanna let God in? But tonight, I guess I'll let my pride win'.
It comes from a place of vulnerability. A desperate jab into the air hoping he'd hit something, knowing well there's nothing he could touch.
And the Pete Davidson line is so obviously facetious. Do you really think Kanye is going to beat Pete Davidson's ass.
@maka With what? I love old and new kanye's music, but I only love old kanye's personality. Quit fanboying over a manchild
@Tom274 Cope
@tiago Exactly.
@NaziPunchingFartSmoker amen Kanye fans can’t admit he hasn’t been good since 2018
When u get into the booth some artist like to have original thoughts making this studio session a moment in time and to truly collaborate and make a memory.. in rap we don’t like hearing the rehearsed shit we like new shit, organic and new and still just as good context wise but I don’t want to feel like I heard this somere before or be thinking of some other rapper when I’m the booth this keeps your work sounding like u … and it’s somthing magical about creating somthing fire from scratch it is also essential if u want to grow as a artist. U want to be able to display your skill when ever u want like a super power some are so good they don’t wright anymore they just feel the lyrics .. these young guys tho be just freestyling bull shit tho cus they don’t know how to feel the lyrics all the way yet they just say shit till they mess up and record over there mess ups that’s why they have good work ethic but bad lyrics or lyric timing but if this trash 80% of the music u listen to now is yeah and u been listening sence the fire that was dark twisted fantasy wich did beter than c 4 remember.. he was the only one to break Wayne streak with artist of the year or able of the year and after that it’s been a new person every year…he did the Taylor swift thing .. this dude don’t fumble cus he caint his presses of making music has evolved to the point of divinity bruh I doubt this man has time to be writing as well and making his beats he is a billionaire now tuning company’s if he wants to keep doing this music he had to evolve I’m sure this is the best kayne or at least the most effective for him right bow being in this state mentality and he is a animal truly being human in his bars and not trying to seem like god … it’s humbling cus we all have broken down before and inspires me to be honest and not to be this toxic but to go towards my dreams even more
Off the rails and revealing himself with no shame is the art. Good tracks don’t have to be technically sound nor relatable. Just cause you step in his shoes and feel cringe doesn’t mean you could walk a mile in it. He let it all out for that moment. It’s human and showed true colors , whether you like it or not.
Kanye was speaking from a place of raw emotion and I love that.
Art isn't necessarily meant to be liked - it's meant to be talked about and immortalized. We all see the downward spiral, I'm just glad Ye is with us for now.
Kanye being insecure and toxic doesn't make the song bad. It makes it real. The song was written in a bitter state and it's harrowing and wonderful to listen to.
Behold you speaketh the truth!!
Kanye could literally fart on the mic and people would still justify it as creativity.
but his verse is trash, and it is really cringe
@Trace Murray when did they imply that, u read the same comment right? Surely not
Saying ye is being real in a particular emotional state ≠ u can't be real in any other state. The point of being real is that ur real in all emotional states.
And not a lot of artist r real when they're being toxic like this cuz it'll affect the brand.
Dam melon I actually 100% agree with you this time! You we're on point with your criticisms today! And you're a real gem in the music community
"It comes off as insecure rather than confident"....
Maybe that's what makes it interesting? Maybe that's even the whole point? Idk i feel like it doesnt even matter what angle or level of self awareness kanye is approaching it with, it's equally interesting and valuable from any perpective.
He had me looking up this song to see if it was actually that bad or not, it was actually fire
I love the song honestly even if Kanye’s bars are a bit jealous fueled this is who he is and he’s putting how he feels in his music.
Hard disagree. Kanye's verse was fire
I love the calmness and acceptance in his voice when he says “it’s horrifying”
I completely disagree. This was my fav Kanye verse in a long time because it actually felt real. Stop acting like you would write a better song and handle your emotions better 🤣
He speaking on what he's passionate about. You can feel it. Bars were 🔥
the random pete davidson diss was so funny
Not so random if you're up to date on his Instagram debacle.
@L. Gsson lmaoo I was hoping somebody else noticed
Random?
Little did you know the whole damn song was about Pete 😔
Not funny anymore.
I can’t deny the bars are extremely basic and aren’t very impressive. The Game definitely outshined him talent wise
Damn no dislikes? Everyone must agree that this is a great review
@Seemab Farook exactly, why ppl look to this tool for his thoughts is beyond me
3:13 Ye bares his soul sometimes on tracks, and maybe he isn’t “confident” and maybe it’s clear that he is insecure, but he doesn’t hide it. He shows you how he is feeling even if it isn’t the perfect image of him he wants remembered. It’s a slice of his true soul, and I honestly MUCH prefer that to any confidence-boosted song that would go over well with new audiences. This is Ye again, telling us how he feels. I respect that, a lot.
Zero lies detected in this review. Bravo, well done!
Reading lyrics isn't Anthony's strong suit he always takes them so literally lol
yea guys he's just joking thats why he made a music video murdering and burying pete davidson dont take it literal 🤪🤪
@Blake D I think they mean anthony takes them for surface value without giving room to how a line might be deliberately jarring (his yeezus review showed this p thoroughly)
@Blake D yes….it’s figuratively “Ima let my petty side win”. He telling you how he feels when he’s upset.
Sounds like Kanye Stan to me
This Kanye verse shows us we’re all human, dealing with human emotions. Even Kanye goes through break ups that hurt. I really like this.
I loved the ye verse, honestly I think as far as the divorce bars I definitely think it could have been worse, way more petty and crazy so I think he actually came across as pretty restrained, also as a ye fan the newminati biiiitch line is gold and I love it every time I play the track
in love with this song, kanye’s verse was crazy (good)
I think that putting this song out, especially when he knows that its not going to look great, shows his level of vulnerability and that he really just needs to express himself.
This dichotomy of artsy vs “not so artsy” has always kind of existed between Album Ye and Feature Ye.
His feature versus are pretty much always a bit more aggressive and referencing contemporary life stuff or pop culture. He never gives the Runaway or Come to Life kind of character.
I definitely prefer the album stuff.
Edit: yes, I meant verses instead of versus. It was 3am lol
Man this track is a banger I love it . Fantano is mad Rap is not going anywhere
Donda was mid
Dude his feature was good don’t put it down just to suck up to Fantano who most people don’t even like
3am is still pretty early, so not an excuse...
@Mr S it’s a game single featuring Kanye. And I wrote the comment at 3am, give me a break on spelling.
I loved the pete davidson line and the “i dont negotiate with therapists” lmaoo
Thank you for having the only honest reaction to Kanye's part
I was in a pretty salty state the night it dropped and I loved. Waking up and listening on a new day it does seem a lil eh towards the end but I feel like i completely get where Ye’s coming from and what the song is.
Love u Melon and I know you said you don’t know everything about what’s going on in his divorce and personal life but it still really comes off like you’re talking about him as if you knew everything about his divorce and personal life
I don't get the point how you don't trust Kanye's motivations. At this point you gotta acknowledge that Kanye literally puts everything that goes through his mind with no filter on wax. From a self proclaimed narcissist., he would flat-out say that his new relationship was based on jealously if that was the case or it crossed his mind at all. When has Kanye ever hide his tongue in the past?
@maci coinc The issue is that Kanye fans just repeat what other people say but spin it as a positive even though it isn't.
@maci coinc I don’t hate kanye, I just think a lot of the stuff he does is whack but his hardcore fans will always support those things
@mister pinkman I just don't understand, Kanye haters will lampoon Kanye to the grave no matter what he does. See the issue here?
@Pasicho
Really? He's not trying to make Kim jealous?
He literally brags about his new bitch being bad.
@Pasicho I think you are ignoring the fact that Kanye is dating someone else and decides to move in within the same neighborhood as his ex wife. You don’t think that would cause unwanted harm in the end?
Idk man. I fucking loved Kanye's verse that shit felt real and hilarious at the same time 😂😂
I think Fantano missed the ball here. Kanye even sets it up for you. He let his pride win and he's intentionally expressing the more unappealing aspects of his humanity. Not something Kanye does ever. I think its very brave acknowledging that side of oneself because people often find it disgusting and pathetic because it reminds them of it in themselves. It surface level, its childish and its completely unkanyelike but unlike the audience he's not pretending it doesn't exist. Perhaps Fantano was triggered by his own blind spots?
"It seems like it's coming more from a place of insecurity than it does confidence."
But that's always been Kanye.
He's clearly hurt about his situation and you're laughing at his expression of grief. Cringey or not, it's his art. You're being a little insensitive here, Melon. I'm not even a big Kanye fan but I can at least emphatize with the dude.
Honestly the Pete Davidson line shouldn't be taken anymore seriously than his Southpark and snl jabs. it's just tongue and cheek
only a group of kanye fans wouldn't even notice the butchering of that saying :'D
Didn’t age well lol
I love how badly this aged
@Go Home Roger one of the most common types of stalkers are actually exes!
I loved this track man. Shit was real
Tbh this was the kinda verse I was waiting for. It has a solid format and he’s just candid about the shit he’s feeling. I almost wish Game’s verse matched it in theme
U were too harsh. Ye was being honest in his verse and even if the lyrics were a little bit cringy, I trust that his writing frames his current mental state accurately, especially for his older age too
I really laughed… hard… Thanks for the review!
Kanye verse is a smash, come back to it when you're ready 🔥
I was pretty disappointed as well. HOWEVER, that "I don't negotiate with therapists" bar was fantastic.
Remember guys you can still like this song he’s just a TheXvidr lol.
Calling oneself a table, in order to talk about one's own supremacy, is never good.
@The Collective OK. 'Calling oneself a table, in order to talk about one's legacy, is never good.'
it means he's carrying people on his back, either through legacy or support. Not necessarily about supremacy
This track is incredible. Anthony is def on some shit if he thinks this is a waste.
He’s rite doe Kanye fucked it up
I loved the verse, one of my favorite post-divorce verses from him
One of Kanye's strongest off season songs in a while tbh
I just pray that kanye gets his life and family back together.
I liked the song and kinda even liked the Pete Davidson line too. I interpreted it as him saying he went through all the struggles in his life and survived a near death experience and all it's eventually led to is him being the guy who is going to "fight" Pete Davidson. That's all people think his life is at this point.
@srshomes yes Kanye is definitely the type to think that far into a line
Yoooo i never saw it that way
@mialien well sorry i meant to say kanye aint that deep when it comes to this song and recently
How could you even listen to this top notch kanye and say "the verse is trash"
Good to see Ye and Game collating again. ‘Wouldn’t get far’ is one of the most underrated songs in both artists’ catalogues
*collaborating
Whenever I want a good waste, I sit through your videos longer than :30. I think most people will disagree with your view on Kanye’s verse.
As an artist he has the right to communicate how he’s feeling through his craft. The verse can come off sad to you but Ye is in a super sad situation with his family life. He’s trying to make us feel that
i dont really get why you dislike his verse here. this is literally the same ye we've had. Bragadocious, narcissistic, and no filter. only difference being a divorce. honestly loved the single.
@Shay Jones That's silly, there'd be some other video in its place, perhaps talking about an actual good song.
weeweeballsmaogus
Is there lik a don't like narcissistic club.. Lol I'm tired of labels. I jus like Kanye for being Kanye. This video wouldn't exist without Kanye. Let's be real.
@Denis Lupšor nah. his flow goes right wit the beat. idk what u on trying to say that's trash of all things
Bro even if we put lyrics aside his flow and singing is complete trash be honest
Kanye’s verse was🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You know what mate, Kanye rapped his heart out, what this shows is that he is a human being.
i honestly really do think this verse was meant to be taken pretty lightly. at the end of the day, we really don’t know much about Ye’s personal day to day life, or his relationships with others. For all we know, Pete and Ye could be on a facetime call right now laughing their asses off about how angry people are getting.
I’ve always hated fantanos take on music and now I remember why
It's really not that bad - Ive heard far worse efforts from Kayne. I dont think it's really meant to be taken that seriously - the Pete Davidson line was def said with a smirk
@JD Marshall instead his entire take missed, the line was perfectly fine. idkw melon always holds kanye to a different level then other artists. kanye for some reason has to be perfect in his songs, but melon excuses the same shit on other artists
@JD Marshall I mean he can say “even just as a joke” but he’s not giving the line enough credit with the context. Kanye is going through a divorce and someone who he’s hung out with is now seeing her. He has every right to joke about that
@Jᴀᴄᴋᴇʀᴄᴏ he's pretty obsessed with Kim and Kanye relationship so much more so than the track. All that chat about Kanye having chances to "fly striaght etc" - wtf does he know about their relationship.
@JD Marshall no, its just that he takes it so seriously and so literally that he cant find the humour in it. Fantano needs a reality check.
It’s a solid verse he does lose a bit of steam towards the end but it’s not trash
2:44 mans turned into Shaggy “Its kinda cringe tooooo” 💀💀💀
I think this whole thing is hilarious. I’d bet my life that Kim K, Pete D, and Kanye have a much tighter circle of communication than we’d guess. I mean Kanye lives NEXT DOOR for crying out loud! Guarantee he talks to Kim almost every day to workout kid situations etc…they are all well aware of how big all the Pete Davidson memes are.
My guess is, Pete knew this was coming and Kanye prob played it for them b4 it was released. We’ll bite on anything and I’m here for ALL OF IT!!
After you listening to Kanye for so long, it kinda surprised me that you think he thinks this will make him look good.
You should know by now he’s expressing all of this in a “fuck it, I’m being present” way than a calculated “I’m making things better” Kind of way.
The New Fantano Review Is Sad
this song about to make me send "streaks don't hmu" that's how sad it is
“God saved me from that car crash just so I can beat Peat Davidson’s ass”
I took this line as sarcasm, saying how all of his life’s struggles including the car crash (therefore life not being eazy) just to end up with petty beef with Pete Davidson (who?)
when 50% of this review has nothing to do with the song......
Wow, this seems to have gone straight over his head. Quite hilarious actually.
kanye really dissed a guy whos sleeping with his ex wife on a song featuring a guy who slept with his ex wife
@Ghostin you mean Kim who couldn't make it work with anybody lol got married and divorced the same week, just like Pete who proposed to Ariana on the first date 😂
@Just My Opinion exercise options* but you right
@cristian romerothat shouldn’t be Kim’s problem. She’s been with him for years and couldn’t make it work out in the end. Also how is he a little crazy once in a while???
Kim’s been around with everybody. She’s the one at fault here. I can’t think of a single reason to leave your husband just because he goes crazy every once in a while. If she were truly committed to the relationship, she would have helped him instead of putting him on blast and then divorcing him months later.
Would love to add it to my playlist but the cover for the song genuinely stops me from doing so
I think it's okay to be overly transparent with your emotions through your art and trying to make that taboo is really regressive tbh
I love trying to decipher how he feels by using his facial expressions during the sped up "Listening" part
