Pertwee is Perfect! 👌 Baker is so recognisable that it almost goes without saying. But Pertwee’s Doctor is less so, and therefore so much more impressive to hear his voice. I really think Big Finish should have had Jon play the Third Doctor.

I would rather not have impressionists attempt to play the actual character as a serious thing
It's bad enough what they're doing with all their other recastings

    • William Hestilow
William Hestilow 6 months ago +1

@Alli Hogan Whittaker by herself is not the issue. It is the piss poor writing, agenda pushing, and otherwise inability to act like the doctor that is the issue with the new series. The whole show has become a sjw parody of a once great sci fi epic.

    • Yeti
      Yeti 6 months ago

@Michele Marie Dalene the episodes were all made on tape. NONE of those originals exist
But they all had many copies made for overseas sales
It's a miracle so many survive as it is
When a country was finished with them they were told to either
      Return them
Send them to the next country which had bought them
      Or destroy them
Ironically the films which were not sent back to the bbc and simply kept were the ones that were safe, because the bbc destroyed most of them to save space

I still think Matt Smith doctor was the best. And season 5 is my favorite.

    • Zach H
      Zach H 6 months ago

@bingbonga binga see, I think seas on 11 lacked those "how did I miss that" and "how are they getting out of this" moments where the audience could have figured it out, but likely didn't. Season 11 was more of a regular story and then they decided to through politics in, so we had even less time to develop the plot. However I did like the actirs, but the doctor seemed to lack her own personality. She just fused her old personalities which I guess some could see as a good thing, but it just didn't seem as alien.

    • bingbonga binga
      bingbonga binga 6 months ago

    *Hey DW...*
What's the place in North London that has Daleks behind reception? It looked like it was involved in the production of DW.
I had to deliver a parcel there a few Saturdays ago and had to fight to not lose my mind and remain calm and professional.
Bearing in mind the last time I saw a Dalek in person, I was at a museum and probably about 5. I ran away screaming thinking it was about to exterminate everyone ... In my defence, they had placed it around a corner which made it look like it was waiting to ambush, and I'm pretty sure it aimed at me as soon as it saw me.😞😳

  • Martyn James

This like is are wonderful. But It's more aimed at the older fans that can afford it. Which does send a lot of mixed messages to the whole of the fan base. "Here look at this expensive thing, nice isn't it" Since Doctor Who came back the fan base is now bigger older fan want new versions of the things they had as children gone are the video copies of the show replaced with DVD/Blu-ray's, reprinted books and collectible action figures such as the ones created by big chief Studios made out of porcelain. And soundtrack CD and this LP. But on the other hand we the cheaply made B&M figures and playsets as well as all the other sonic screwdrivers. Which are bought by the children fan but even then thanks to the manufacturers seeing there are fans with quite a lot of money they begin to market their products for a higher price. I do think there should be a clear marketing strategy. Call it the Doctor Who Showcase collection which puts together things like this LP and the expensive collectibles, and another group called Doctor Who Everyday which has the cheaper collectibles and less expensive Blu-rays and books in it. So people don't feel left out when they buy Doctor Who merchandise.

    • Martyn James
      Martyn James 6 months ago

@Steve Tayler What I am saying is Like most fans bases for shows like this. There now there are two groups the ones with lots of money who buy things like this and all the other Limited edition memorabilia. And others fans who can't so end up buying cheper things like the toys or books things that mass produced. And feel felt out when something like comes along. So if there was a clear system which marked things like this LP as Legacy Doctor Who and other cheper thing as Forever Doctor Who people would be able to save up there money and not feel upset when they see somthing like this.

    • Steve Tayler
      Steve Tayler 6 months ago

Martyn James What? What are you actually trying to say? You think there should be a ‘clear marketing strategy’. Where the BBC sells things cheaply? That’s not a marketing strategy
