My heart burns within me, when I look at the kids on the backs of their mothers. There is more than enough wealth in this world to eliminate poverty and hunger. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I am a German, now have been living in china for 10 years, and visiting china for another 10 before that. And I can say that I have never seen a country advance so fast. I personally think creating a strong middle class for instance in a period of 10 to 15 years would not have been possible in any western country. yes, there are still poor areas, but as indicated by this video, they are working even on those.
This is insane and so dangerous. Its great that they replaced their old wooden ladder with a sturdy steel. Still so dangerous š±
Poors people but still brave , they face the extreme poverty and the danger with bravery and courage. God bless them all .
I lived in China for two years. Geography is truely merciless and together with extreme climate, it's the main reason for poverty and isolation. And even with less unfavorable circumstances, no other country has been capable of acomplishing what China is doing for the last few years. Besides, all of those who launch propaganda critizicing Chinese government are conducting attempts of destabilization against it, no other country is prey of this much foreign interference. And that's because they'd love to take over it. Plain and simple: in this discussion all the ideological issues like ācommunism, human rights, whateverā are faked behind the fact that China is world's most coveted land. And in the eves of oil scarcity, China is finding their way to depending less on it and moving onto sustainable forms of energy and transport while the US just prolonging the agony, desperately seeking for more of it and invading other countries, but as prices get on the rise they will fall by their own feet.
Adorable little kids, bless them. No one should have to live in poverty.
This is crazy. Coming from a third world country I understand the struggle. Great that the government cares.
I think removing poverty is not only helpful for those people living in extreme poverty, but also helps eliminating the potential criminals which in turn improves the degree of safety of the society.
These people are so brave I absolutely respect them. I'm scared of heights to deathš«
Lots of salutes to the courage and struggles of these poor human beings
I cant imagine this as a daily way of life. How blessed we are in this country.
Lord help them and guide the people who are suffering in so many different countriesā¦
Not commenting on the subject content now, but wanted to say, it's an excellent production here. Nicely structured for the 3'27" of the feature. Some very imaginative shots, going up the ladder and especially use of the drone at the end. I did pity the poor cameraman! Very nicely done.
These people just can't stand the fact that China is not only promising to wipe out poverty, but are already making good progress! I'm not certain that they can do it in five years, but if they can lift 43 million people out of extreme poverty in ten years then I would be congratulating them. I don't see any other country in the world making any efforts to do anything remotely similar.

Keep up the good work! there must be a way to resolve poverty in the long run.
Not only in China, building roads and bridges as it was planned by Chinese government has always been a key element in the fight against poverty in poor countries around the globe ,thus, this will facilitate access to these remote communities, bring assistance to themš
Finally, BBC said something good about china
I don't care what people are going to say but in my opinion it's very heroic to do such deeds for the poor. No government is corruption proof but, they have immense power in their hands to do for their people. I know chinese government takes immense intrest in acquiring their adjacent countries and what the foreigners have been facing in china but, everything aside to fulfill someone else's dream is very applaudable.
