Man De Bruyne is such a Great Iconic player, too bad he had to miss a few games back at the Euro Cup due to his injury. This is truly how he plays on the field and maybe even better.

Fair play to City, went there to show what they’re all about and took the win, as for Chelsea they’re really missing the injured wing backs and honestly need players that are more direct in passing, frustrating at times when ST is in behind no one passes enough

@Festus Williams and as I remember last season in around February you dropped to 9th and lost 6 in a row at home, we're 3rd in mid January having played most of this season with half our 1st team out. So it seems we're dealing with our crisis a bit better than you did. If you are a Liverpool fan.

      @SebAngler 🙄 ooookkkk

    • Reluctant Socialist
      Reluctant Socialist 4 months ago

@SebAngler definitely caught everyone off guard, but Kepa’s positioning was still awful, and is probably the entire reason Debrugne took the shot on. Keepers are supposed to stand at an angle to cover both sides of the goal and the shot was way inside the far post yet he got no where near because he was too far to the left. I was a keeper in my youth, never played professionally but did play for Cardiff City Youth when their academy was part time, and we were run through positioning drill constantly to make sure you’re aware of this. You should only be either beaten by a world class strike that goes into the inside of the side netting or at least get fingers to it, doesn’t mean you’ll automatically stop a goal, but where that shot goes, decent positioning would have given you a chance. Chelsea’s no.1 would have saved it, I’d put money on that because the ball was behind his standing foot as he hit it so there wasn’t enough power to get it past a well positioned keeper

    • Reluctant Socialist
      Reluctant Socialist 4 months ago

Decent finish, but lets not pretend the keeper didn't do him a huge favour with his awful positioning. Chelsea can't moan though, they DID pay £75m for that.

@Ajama786 I simply meant his passing game isn’t at his normal level, he’s still finding his form. People forgot about his physique because of what he can do without it(which will likely start declining now). I’m sure he’ll improve his ball game to compensate tho.

AUBAME YANG 4 months ago +2

@Em just admit you don't understand goalkeeping. He stepped the wrong way before de bruyne shot, so he couldn't get near the ball. Any good goalkeeper steps to their left to make it easy to get across (no disrespect to de bruyne btw it was a great goal)

As a Liverpool fan, I have to say that this is the reason City has been winning. They have been pressing, consistent, and have a solid defence. Not to mention, they have great players. The problem with Liverpool and Chelsea is that they have bottling every chance to stay on top. However, City have been playing phenomenally and that's why there on. They are 13 points clear as a fact. To be brutally honest, the title is coming to City and that is a fact.

City will eventually hit a few bumps in the road. The media have been overhyping Chelsea and Liverpool and it's clearly been a distraction. To me, the title race is not over and the other teams will find a way to take points off City soon.

As a Liverpool fan I am in ore of Man City, the strength and depth is incredible, and even when they need to dig out a result they just do the job so well. And I said in the summer that's why Liverpool can't win the league because there depth isn't good enough to compete with City for the long haul. Which as a Liverpool fan Im incredibly frustrated with our owners for not using the opportunity of having a great manager and getting more talent in. Liverpool and City's finance are very similar. In fact Liverpool have made more in terms of revenue. So I can't quite understand why we won't commit to spending a bit to compete for the title year in year out while we have Klopp. In a 5 year period City have spent close to a billion and we've spent under 500 million. You just can't compete with that year in year out unfortunately

City should have scored 4 or 5. De Bruyne is world class. He scores or assists in big games. Grealish really needs to improve or it's going to be a waste of 100 mil. He has to prove himself next season definitely. 1st season getting used to the way City play. If he plays like he did for Villa next season, City could be unstoppable for many years.

    • george hicks
george hicks 4 months ago +1

You have to remember it was different at villa tho, I’m a villa fan and our tactic was basically just pass the ball to jack and let him work his magic, everything went thru jack, because he was one of the only players w substantial quality in our team, at city he’s surrounded by world class players, no one relies on him anymore and instead of being a focal point he’s part of a system, it’s gotta be different for him but when he gets his confidence up, especially under pep he’ll be different gravy

Pep running the epl show without main striker while other teams have world class strikers, Liverpool has 2 😆. He may not win CL further but he is been successful in implementing his style all over Europe. City is on its way to win 4 epl in 5 yrs, absolutely dominating domestic league

Honestly, Fair play to Chelsea they worked hard but we also gotta appreciate the hard work man city put in

Kepa & Ederson kept it 0-0 with great saves against the Grealish & Lukaku 1 on 1's until 69. Kovacic should have seen red for that challenge on Walker at 52 minutes. Sterling destroyed Alonso atleast thrice.
