I’m with you on the carrots! And turnips sound like a good alternative or use them in my chicken soup. Now if you could only get rid of the peas

In response to the “Molly cooks easier recipes because...” I love the easier recipes she makes, and I’m not a new cook. It gives me new ideas and I love to just watch her. Also, even following a recipe not everyone is a great cook. She explains the easier things in a great way.

Now if it was a 80 year old granny with more experience in the kitchen I would probably watch and learn ...outta here !!!

I will go with "Carla was pretty appalled"...Talk about the Vegetable Wars! My Opinion is that Carrot and Peas are not negotiable in a Pot Pie, but Molly you make a strong argument and that thing looks delish...

They always have Molly doing simple, mediocre, and simpleton recipes. Is she not a real chef?

Someone mentioned her recipes focused on less time, but store-bought ingredients. Regardless, she wouldn't be working in the Test kitchen if she wasn't a chef, or didn't have knowledge on how to cook.

I'd say, her recipes are simple because their meant to be for people who maybe can't afford expensive ingredients like the ones Bon Appetite tend to use for other recipes?

I agree turnips are way better than carrots... especially in a savory dish like a stew or pie. My mom puts them in her stew and it's the best stew I've ever had (but she also puts carrots)... This poor ladies coworkers are supposed to be chefs and they don't like turnips...? lol XD

How are you going to spend so much time on turnip vs carrot and not address the fact you put white wine in a southern classic dish and tried to call it genuine??

You are so cute. This is about the 3rd vid I have watched and I love your approach. Now, I have been married 50 yrs and my husband has eaten turnips raw for those decades. I am so trying this recipe! I have use Costco rotisserie chicken for a long time for this type of dish. I can't wait to try it. Thank you so much for posting!

Parsnips are the sub she was looking for. Also you hate to see that much heavy cream when a simple bechemel is called for. Also you cannot skip the celery. Also making simple pastry is less time consuming than finding puff pastry. But she is nice.

Totally agree with Molly regarding turnips. I love to using them in Irish stew instead of parsnips. They not only hold up better, but taste better too.

The use of turnips is BRILLIANT! Turnips are very underrated and overlooked in western food, unless you live in the southeastern US.

Or replace the puff pastry with dollops of cheddar biscuit mix.
