Really great Alec, stoked for you and the upcoming team mate. I hear the country out west if beautiful over there. Have you heard of Abom79 (TheXvidr)? He does a lot of heavy machining work. Might give him a look up once you are state side, could help finding the machines you may need for the next work shop. Best of luck. :-)

  • Jamie Reid

There is literally no opportunity in the USA though.
The last 2 presidents ran America into extreme debt. Obama was the worst.
Now, America is a racially divided and bankrupt. It's a sad place now.
Maybe Trump will keep managing to pour money into the economy, however, I doubt it.
In 100 years time America will destroy itself with socialist morons.
There will be laws to literally stop people having opinions etc etc.
And sadly the UK is following in the same steps.

      Username 22 days ago +1

Are you American? I ask because your comment is so far from the truth it's insane. I hope you'll stop letting media mold your mind and begin thinking for yourself. We are not bankrupt. Far from it. We are largely in debt, but, in fact, our market is improving substantially. Just one of our states is now one of the top five of world economies (California).
Also, we aren't "socially divided" to the extent you imply. There was recently a study done on this subject. Most of us agree with and get along with each other more so than in prior decades. What you see on the news is fear-mongering and abject lies used to gain viewership.
*_And sadly the UK is following in the same steps._*
Actually, I would suggest the U.S. is following in the U.K.'s steps.

    Metric > imperial :(

  • Unexpected SPANISH INQUISITION

The US is a great place for craftsmen as we have abundant resources. We also don't have laws that ban sharp knives and such, so no worries about not being able to complete your work. The Imperial system is not as bad as many think, and are based on household objects, like a cup is a cup, a foot is about the size as your foot, teaspoon is the same as a teaspoon, etc. It makes measuring convenient. Also the US has plenty of companies that use both, so no worries.

He doesn't have to abandon the metric system just cause he's moving to the states. Realistically it doesn't matter where he shoots from, as long as the audience can convert it. I'm from Canada, and we go back and forth from metric to imperial all the time. Our older generations(50+), like to use imperial, most people younger than that got caught in the conversion years
