The real issue for me as a 5'1 girl would be length lol

  • TheMissIreland

Nothing is stretch enough to be literally one size fits all, I don’t think that exists. and most people could make a dress like this for themselves for 50$ or less

While I 100% agree with the main premise here, I usually see one size fits all as a S-XL class. I wouldn't say that plus size is considered in that 75% of the time.

As a guy. I dislike that term phrase. It blinds the truth. Different body types and sizes. Same to men. Women just have it harder in part do to the birth issues it brings to clothes. Men,males haven't had that much backlash into themselves. Except when it comes to LGBT+ & acting in all types of work, career. A lot just don't know or see it. In some ways a lot just can't tell in one perspective way. T.V. of not so old and older. Don't actually give...in easy terms detail view. More newer ones do however.

Lets be rational, it would have to some kind of magical cloth to fit all body sizes. One size fit all in particular categories. If you find in the “misses” section it mean about sizes 2 to 12, plus size area 14 to 26, mega plus 28 and up.

Alterations are always required for length, that is one complaint I can never get behind. However, I thought it was fascinating how they were able to keep changing the dress suit their bust.

I literally watched this while wearing a green infinity dress I got at goodwill for 7 bucks (halloween yo!). I also wore a light blue one as a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding several years back. When we ordered those, the dresses came in 2 options; "regular" and "plus".

Why would a dress fit all women between 100lbs to 400lbs. Its just impossible🤦🏽‍♀️. Companies should change the lable to "one size".

Kay McGarden 5 days ago +1

@Eileen Getz I don't give a toss if they're big(in this case, they're not) and sag because of this and that or if their men love them regardless. Bottom line is that gravity is working overtime and if you see anything wrong with the fact, go jump.

It’s interesting they say that $400 is too much for a wedding dress when bridesmaids dresses tend to run 200+
These chiffon dresses with multiple layers tend to cost about $400 especially for brides.
Also, all dresses in the wedding industry tend to come long and that’s when you go in to a seamstress and get it hemmed to your height with the shoes you’re wearing.
Unfortunately the wedding industry also doesn’t accommodate for plus sizes as easily. Most designers charge extra for going past size 16+

I had a dress like this, that I bought from a yard sale, and it was gorgeous. I donated it about a year ago because...
It was too big. I had to pin the waistband smaller so it would fit.
It didn't stay put. It was really fun to wrap, but if I wanted any coverage, I was constantly adjusting. I did the Grecian sweetheart wrap once, but with little cap sleeves. I was glad I had something else covering my chest, because if I moved my torso at all, it popped off. And I am not a large-chested woman.
It was fun to play around with, but did not offer the coverage I prefer. I haven't missed it, really. I forgot I got rid of it until seeing this video!

You can buy these dresses in actual sizes too if you like them. They have been around for years and are a lot cheaper than $400.

  • Sunny Garrington

that would be such a cute bridesmaid dress! Change the color, and the bridesmaids can choose their wrap design based on what flatters their body type. That’s a pretty good idea!!

Isn’t it kind of implied that one size fits all is standard sizing, and one size fits all plus fits plus size? That’s how I’ve always seen OS clothing sold.

As a petite AND plus size woman, "one size fits all" stuff generally has no chance of fitting me. This was a very interesting experiment! I actually really loved some of the different ways that people wore it and twisted it.
