Public services failure is not due to funds but mainly due to massss of people using it who are not brifs and mass migration over 3 decades. While our own populace is declining and being dumbed down like the questioner, although i would suspect bbc picked him, maybe he has a leftist connection since thats what the bbc does in bbcqt.

A decision of such magnitude, such as leaving the EU, should never have been a simple majority referendum vote. It should have required two-thirds majority at the very least, given the severe repercussions that follow big decisions.
To allow a populace to close the gap between their emotions/feelings/personal values/cultural values and significant societal decisions that will impact generations for the worse, is incredibly dangerous to intellectualism, secularism, stability of a democratic system, courts, rule of law and civil society.
Furthermore, the fact that the agenda to leave the EU has been rooted in a myriad of falsehoods, disinformation, lies and propaganda, the entire endeavor should have been aborted in its pregnancy, pending a serious inquiry into political parties and public figures who orchestrated these events.

Sick to death of the NHS. Every government throws money at it, and it's perpetually broken, and each election we demand we throw more good money after bad.
Maybe it's time we just admit it's beyond fixing, break it up, and turn it into a bare bones service, and privatise the rest.
If you're too fat, and want a stomach staple, pay for it yourself.
If you cant have kids, and want IVF, pay for it yourself.
If you want paracetamol, pay for it yourself, and stop demanding the NHS pay for it, just because you can.

Promised what exactly?, they've been in power for Nine years and done absolutely nothing!, apart from continued sell offs to foreign Companies!, they are still selling off the NHS as we speak!, they flogged all public transport only to see them all run at a huge loss, the taxpayer has been subsidising these foreign companies for years!, all this money has been going back to their own countries!, look at the energy sector, 79 % of companies are owned by foreign companies, some even by foreign govts!, what have they done about the huge price increases?, all these profits go back and subsidise their own countries utility bills, we in the UK pay the most in energy than any other other country!!!, you add these profits to the eu subsides and it absolutely dwarfs the bill to be in the EU, simple maths, the Tories never mention this of course. don't you think it's better that the uk consumer receives these profits through 100% UK ownerships?, it costs twice as much to outsource Labour into the NHS than by direct employment!, these are the facts that a lot of people just don't know about either through ignorance or sheer idleness. I reckon I've paid between £7- 10,000 more than a Dutch consumer in the last 10 yrs of Tory govt , add all the millions of consumer and industrial consumer together over a year and that more than offsets EU membership.every single independent economist has forecast huge consumer goods price increases, add that to the extra cost of customs, there is no comparison at at all, the cost of foreign holidays is going rise, all borders are going to checkpointed for passports, and the list goes on and on. From Thatcher to this present day every Tory govt has shit lies, they cannot help it, their ex public schoolboy education teaches them that they are superior , this allows them to lie without any conscience at all. I live in Leeds and Branson has just been awarded neatly 2 billion in service contracts, they are still lying through their noses about selling the NHS off!!!.

Proliferation of food banks, the acceptability of lies being used in political campaigns, the repositioning the goalposts on the conclusion of a political campaign. Eu membership never prevented us from investing in public services, investing in infrastructure or trading outside of the EU, all the EU membership ensures is that a minimum set of standards are adhered to by member states. Britain has been conned, and those areas who overwhelmingly voted for brexit will realise this in good time.

The wee SNP chappie on the panel demanded that Scottish voters should be given the opportunity to hold another referendum on the Scottish independence issue, and if the result was to leave the UK they would then apply for Scotland to remain in the EU. No problem..!! When asked what currency would they adopt on breaking away from the 'Pound Sterling', would they perhaps magically create a new currency (that no country in the world would recognise as being legitimate) or would they opt for the Euro, which would bind them fast to the EU, making Scotland less independent than it is now in the UK. All we got from the wee chappie on that one, was bluff and bluster. He also said, "Scotland is an open inclusive society and they need, and would welcome the free movement of people from the rest of the EU (a euphemism, for unrestricted mass immigration} I bet a pound to a shilling, that the day after those migrants land in Scotland, most of them will be hastily heading south to England, and without any kind of border control, England will be back with the same old problem, in fact it will probably create even more of a problem than it does now. The good news is though, that we wont have to keep subsidising Scotland and paying for the upkeep of the Scottish regiments, or will we..? We can also bring our ship building capacity back into England.. and we wont have to listen to them bloody moaning all the time..

Eppur, That sounds like sour grapes to me. Yes, I am a nationalist and proud of it. Maybe you're upset about such a dreadful revelation coming from an ignorant Englishman, but that's the trouble with us Brit's, we can't think straight. We still believe in democracy, free speech and the inalienable right to govern ourselves without interference from people who don't quite understand our silly ways. We are a bit old fashioned, and get slightly upset when tinpot dictators and jumped up unelected bureaucrats insist on telling us what we can, or cannot do, whilst sucking us dry. So it's, au-revoir EU and the best of British luck.

I'm fairly certain the Tory Party's priority when they came into power was to follow an unpopular, but imperative course of action in order to put the country back on it's feet after coming into office and finding the country desperately in debt and the cupboard bare. Spend, Borrow, Spend, Borrow more, is the Labour Party's answer to how to manage the economy.... Fortunately most people saw the error of going along with that kind of catastrophic policy, and deserted them in droves..

    • Alan Roberts
      Alan Roberts Month ago

Point 1. The Tories never advocated Brexit, the people did, and the Tory Prime Minister posted his resignation as a consequence of their vote to leave. Point 2. Precisely which part of the NHS have the Tories sold off, or are intending to sell off.? Point 3. Everybody in the UK was given the opportunity to invest in the utility companies when they were denationalised, (not always instigated by the Tories) those shareholders were then free to retain, or sell their shares to anyone at anytime. That's how capitalism works. Point 4, Judging by the recent election result, many people do trust them, despite your dire warning..
