Hatate is a baller man. His 50 odd yard, laser accurate pass to Forrest in the second half was beautiful. Maeda took his chance well, is absolutely rapid, even more so than Kyogo and Ideguchi was very tidy too when he came on.

Maybe I’m speaking too soon, but there’s a special aura about this Celtic team, with a new style of play and a new approach in the transfer market, maybe this team can progress in Europe under Ange in the coming seasons. Japanese players always seem to quiet good technically on the ball look at Honda, nakamurra, kagawa and they look after themselves like Miura is 54 still playing I had to google but inamoto played for Fulham and West Brom he’s 42 and still playing one thing they lack is the physicality but Teo Hatatae look like an absolute tank.

Yup lack of physicality. Mostly, striker and winger. But not the defenders, they are quite strong. Look at Tomiyasu (Arsenal, the guy is rarely get beaten in EPL), Ko Itakura (Schalke 04), Endo (VFB Stuttgart), Maya Yoshida (Sampdoria).
Hatate's reminds me of Okazaki ex Leicester City player, similar built.

@JohnThe monopoly of Rangers and Celtic is obvious to see. I'm pretty aware of Romanov and because of his crazyness almost buried the club but also because of MONEY challenged Rangers and Celtic. The SPL big wigs always caress Rangers and Celtic. The Pandemic, would that have happened to Rangers or Celtic getting dumped to the Championship? No Danger, it would have been a null void season guaranteed. Until Hearts Hibs Aberdeen have a seating capacity of Rangers or Celtic and give the coffers their dough I doubt anyone outside of the usual 2 horse race will win the league unless someone puts together a great team, but again come Jan that team will be picked apart from down south abroad and here from the vultures of non progression unless ot suits them. Scotland the land that formed the great game should have at least a half dozen decent teams regularly, not 2. Aberdeen the phenomenon because of Fergie. If you think 2 teams in the SPL us all that matters Im guessing Glasgow is all the matters as well? Naw the whole country does and everyone should get their time in the sun not just the chosen few because of a few bob. Everyone else suffers while the few lap it up thinking only of themselves, that goes for not just this country but all countries and peoples.
That team last night was the strongest we have had for a long time, bench was absolutely packed with talent really couldn’t be much happier with the players we have now. Looked so fluent in passing last night was some lovely football on show

Hatate is a very utility player. It will be useful when an injured person appears. He can play anywhere except the goalkeeper

After that first half performance this league ain't over by any means. We don't need to look any further than our own performances and this could be a special second half of season. I'd like to see us having a physical tall striker though for plan B games.

@Bob J I agree. If they can get a forward who gets them 15/20 goals a season then I fancy them for 3rd. They kept the ball so we'll across their own back 4. They just didn't have the cutting edge in the final third.

Always enjoy playing Hibs as they never sit in and it usually makes for a decent game. If only the rest wanted to actually try to play football.

@Dan never said Irish football was better at all 😉 we have our own sports such as Gaelic football and hurling and then there’s rugby so funding in sports is definitely not there for football. In Scotland, however there’s only football and rugby to contend with.

he had a good game. was involved in both goals...the interception which set up the first is not a part of this game we're used to seeing. still very raw but so much potential there.

Hibs were unlucky not to score, right at the start. It’s going to be an amazing nip and tuck season.
Celtic seems like they have been going well with with Japanese players since Nakamura.
Still feel we maybe need another 3 or 4 signings to come in this month so hopefully if players like Barkas, Bolingoli, Soro and Ajeti leave then we might see a few more players come in

The winter break has been good for Celtic and terrible for Rangers. Van Bronkhorst has been unable to carry on the momentum he had before the break. Celtic look good but Rangers seem to have a more solid team physically. If Celtic get a win in next OF it could really rattle rangers and the pressure may set in similar to Celtic last year. Rangers now have a team of wantaway stars who may not be willing to risk injury before the summer transfer window. If Goldson goes in January they are in trouble in defence but if Morelos goes they are in trouble up front. Interesting few months ahead . I certainly won't be ruling out a debut title for Postecoglou.
Hatate is a japanese James Milner. He can play many positions.
It allows for many different types of substitutions and tactical changes, with someone so adaptable.
He looks a very good player already, he has fitted in well.
