I would love to see how to add things to the character generator.
Would love to see this as well. Just for reference (i typically use game character hub for that sort of thing) What would be extremely helpful is finding were i can get generator parts too add. Body parts for making character portraits with various options to show emotions, outfits, hair with various styles, accessories.
My other goal is finding game assets that look less {generic rpg maker} and more 8 or 16bit rpg style. I have various assets but they're all done in various art styles and don't match.
I have been practicing pixleart so i can one day make my own assets as needed but that's still a long road ahead.

Could anyone give me a roundabout of how big a parallax map can be before running into lag issues in game?
Re-working a game from XP and have maps that are around 150 x 100. Is this too big?

+White Devil Oh, I might have had the font set to MS PGothic. If you like it, a simple google search will bring you to a download link.
And you can change both the game font and the window width in the YEP_MessageCore plugin.
Oh, which plugin changes the dimensions? It looks better than the default ._. And do you have something that changes the text? It looks neater, unless its just me. And no problem. Thanks for the reply.
+White Devil The window skin itself I modified because I wanted it see-through in the battle window, but I've just been using the window mainly - I think the only plugin-related message thing I have just changes the box dimensions:3

They feature an intelligent person who seems to love what she does. It's the ammount of passion she puts into it, as well as her chirpy attitude that makes her videos so good.
I would love to know how to change and add things to the character generator as well and even how to change their clothes as they put on different outfits as well
How were you able to fix the lag? My game keeps lagging a ton just from the difference of if there's a text box on the screen or not.

It helped a lot! Thank you! I kinda messed things up because I accidentally copied the plugins file too, but I was able to fix it. Thanks for responding so quickly, and as a sidenote, thanks for the Action Sequence tutorials, they're the best ( ＾∇＾)
+Snyper Karot If you have the steam version(or upgraded to the current version... which I think is still MV 1.0.1 but I'm not sure)
Create a new game project, copy the files in the /js folder(excluding plugins)
and paste it over your game's /js folder.
If that doesn't work, lag also happens a lot when using bigger resolutions.
Also, try "deploying" the game(under file) and see if the .exe file it creates has lag - if it doesn't, it's just the game editor being a jerk.
Besides that... MV is evil and likes to lag slower computers:P
Echo! I have a question, where can I publishize my rpgmaker game if I'm done? And how do I do it? Do I need to compress things and all of that tech mambo jumbo?
So, I'm using RPG Maker MV for the first time.
A while ago I watched a number of tutorials (and etc.), so I know how to do most things.
Yet, for some reason I cannot make doors / transfers work. Every time I try to make it so you move to path 2 from path 1, it won't let me set it to path 2. Could you help me with this? I also seem to not be able to make a character walk for an event.

Well, paint is... not the best program to use for editing lol. I'll be doing a tutorial on how to use Photoshop (and by extension, Gimp since it's free) at some point in the future (unfortunately not right away, since there's a looot to cover >_

+Gamerpro69 I'd likely just add a weapon graphic to them afterwards using something like gimp or photoshop, if you tried to add them into the generator it would take up a graphical slot like accessories or something.
I'm actually hoping for a plugin that let's their equipped weapon show up on their idle pose and such instead of just the Attacking animation, but I haven't come across something like that yet:(
I'd like to see that character generator adding tutorial thing. Hope you can come up with a better title than that. 😄

I'm not sure I could tutorial-ize that at the moment(I'll be doing a horror tutorial...thing... at some point though), but, if you'd like, send me a PM and I can give you a few suggestions and talk you through how to do some things like that(as to not clutter the comment section) ^_^
Well, what about making something not like anything in the list? Like... for example, I am gonna use Mangle from the popular game Five Nights at Freddy's (Not in the game I have planned, just for this example) .... Mangle is unlike any other character ever, and would need a walk cycle different than any normal character, a portrait that isn't in the files, damage effects, attacking animation, etc. ... And especially in my case, I am going to be relying almost entirely on sprite work, though I may play around with battle sequences. I am going to do a horror game, so I am going to try my best to make everything work right... oh, I guess that brings up the final question of how can I make characters interact with environments? let's use coming out of a hole in the floor as an example.. I am sorry if I am overwhelming you, I just want to make sure I do this correctly, and I honestly have no idea how to do any of these things, so I am just studying a little... I really want to make this a good game...

I know this video is a while back, and not sure if anyone brought it up, but what I like to do for dialogue events if I know they're all going to follow a pattern (i.e. the dim setting) is to make a template line where I change those settings, then copy the scripting line. Instead of picking display message from the list of actions, I just paste the block and open it up in the editor.
I hope that made sense and helped if you were still looking for a solution. Of course, this only saves time if you're not copying other blocks of code in the middle of the event.

+Postive Molly You don't need to know any coding to use RPG Maker, unless you want to There are plenty of plug-and-play plugins which only really require you to change numbers and such. There ~are~ super complicated ones and obviously you can make your own, but again, it's not required to:3
How do you make it full screen?
What are the downsides of getting the trial? Also, can you use the games you make with this for commercial uses?
You can as long as you don't use resources that come with rpg (so and so) maker. You can use other people's stuff if they are willing. some people will ask for credit if published. which is easy to do by putting there name in the credits or a text based file in the folder when published. I hope this helps :)

+Hipnotic C Switches are there to turn things on or off(In most cases)
Say you wanted to show an event during a cutscene. Have that event set with the conditions Switch X is on.
When you start the cutscene, turn Switch X on. This will show the other event.
Turn it off at the end, in the cutscene event, and the other event will disappear

MV is easier and friendlier to use from what I have heard. But I use VX Ace because my pc cant handle MV.
