The Brits had and still have far more talented comedians than we have here in the US. But we had Robin Williams.

Brent Bowers He practically murdered me too...I was laughing so hard at one point that I couldn't breathe....LLLLLOOOOOOLLLLL!!!! What a lovely, lovely man he was. I also noticed that when Johnny complimented him at the very end, Robin almost seemed a little embarrassed. Like he didn't know what to say. Very sweet.

The dazzling light of Robin's comedy brilliance was snuffed out too soon, and it was snuffed out so abruptly that I still have trouble accepting it was snuffed out by his own hand.

Not only is Robin the only other guest, besides Dangerfield, I've seen to have Johnny lose it that makes this a special thing. It's when Johnny acknowledges the exceptional talent he sees. Knowing from experience it's something even the king of late night, must pay homage by respectfully acknowledge for all to hear this soul will never return once gone.

Requiescat in Pace 💔✨✨✨

"If it (the clip) isn't any good, I'll be on a game show!". He was hilarious just coming up with funny stuff on the spot. The stuff about the 80's and the references to AIDS and the behaviour of Gays in San Fran watching an NFL game had Carson just falling over with laughter. I wonder how much of the clip of him on Good Morning Vietnam was scripted and how much was just letting Robin do his think and make it up as he goes along. He made up some of the dialogue when he played the Genie in Aladdin. They would just say go and he would create it. He was just so creative and so great at improv and creating a character or impersonating a character. What a talent!

Did any of you ever stop and think maybe Depression was Not the reason for what he did, but that the depression he supposedly suffered was an inevitable reaction To what he knew he was going to do, what he felt was the right thing to do? Is it possible that Robin Williams wanted to leave this world being remembered for who he was (which you can tell from the comments everybody did) and not for being remembered as an aging "has been" comedian that slowly perished in a miserable fashion fighting a disease like so many of us do?
I once read a quote that went something like this, "we all die the object is not to live forever but to create something that will" well that's exactly what Robin Williams did!

Ah..yes...Robin William's was funny..but he was no saint... he had a bad reputation in the comedy World because he would slip into comedy clubs and steal the jokes of young comedians who were trying to build careers....
