As an Asian, this hits so hard. Ah, demn. My relatives and even my mother tends to do this especially during family gatherings. Fortunately it stopped(?) when I am older but the comparison game with my successful cousins are painful during my childhood.

This is so true, but instead of comparing me to my cousins (one of which is only 16 months old), they compare me to the kids of their friends. I hear this all the time..."He won the violin competition, AND he plays the piano, every day, before school!" and "She won the state gymnastics competition, 2 times in the top 3!", and so on, no joke. But at least the violin/piano guy didn't make his violin out of orange peels...I would never hear the end of that if it were so 🤣🤣
