UK medicines regulator considers issuing new advice over Oxford-AstraZeneca jab

  • The UK's mass vaccination roll-out is one of the fastest and most successful in the world. It relies heavily on supplies of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine, after the government ordered 100 million doses. (Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
And so far, the UK has not joined a number of other countries which have stopped the jab for younger people - amid concerns about whether it could increase the risk of a rare blood clot, especially in younger women.
This programme has now learned that the UK's medicines regulator is being urged to change tack - possibly this week.

Is "jab" a British thing to say? I keep seeing the term, but it sounds weird to me.

I am 67. People have no chance to choose not to get AZ jab even who has a blood-count problem of lower platelets like me. 1st all My GP ignored the history of my blood-count as long-term lower platelets & WBC, still encouraged me to get AZ vaccine, NOT offering me a different jab instead. I started to have an unusual headache same time occurring unusual high blood pressure on 8th day after I got Jab. I called 111 for advice. They seem not to worry about what I reported to them at all. I thought I was a bit lucky havenโ€™t died yet of brain clot so far. I wonโ€™t go ahead to get my 2nd dose of AZ as I have realised that there couldnโ€™t be any doctor fm the system who would really care about or to offer a urgent help to me if any worse thing happen to me after 2nd dose of AZ ( 2nd AZ jab is a full dose one)! Small risk is still a risk of losing life and this small risk would be a biggest risk / issue for myself & my family!

Just wait till those rare side affects of blood clotts start killing peoples children. Go tell them the benefits out weigh the risks and its all for to save others. I will keep my child safe and not vaccinated. Let them kick her out of school and refuse her medical treatment cause she is not vaccinated. All us parents should sue the government for it

1:10 did I hear correctly? If hypothetically the vaccine poses more of a risk than covid, it's still less of a risk than the risks we face living day to day. Is that what he's saying? If so, what incentive would one need to take the jab?

I like when all these vax companies claim that the vaccine does not mutate you, yet your cells start producing SPIKES.....I Wonder if I grew a tail, wouldn't that be considered a "change".......Spikes are mutations! Are they permanent? Perhaps not, but what if those spikes were in your blood stream and your immune system destroyed all those poor blood cells.....Opppppsssss Thrombocytopenia......something is fishy....i don't know what? Smells like money!!!! Should we all PANIC, of course NOT, but we should all be talking about it and get some real answers.

Between 4/1/21 & 21/3/21, AZ's own data, published on the Governments yellow card website for adverse effect reporting, shows 2411 blood disorders, 2 of which were fatal, 3768 cardiac disorders, 51 of which were fatal, 254 ear disorders, including 69 cases of deafness, 4566 eye disorders, including 59 cases of blindness. Please explain why did deaths go so high throughout lockdown and the first 3 months of vaccine roll out? Also I read the deaths after vaccine are so far about 700 plus 400,000 adverse reactions, many serious! It seems very suspicious that covid deaths stayed so high when we were locked down and rolling out vaccines! Is there any factual answer backed by statistics?

    • andrew fox
andrew fox 2 days ago +1

More questions than answers I'm afraid.
In lockdown 1 deaths spiked in April/May, this can be theorised by medical incompetence as the alleged new disease was mistreated, people were encouraged to stay home so illnesses/injuries were not diagnosed, old people with illnesses were sent to care homes where they couldn't receive the correct treatment.
Lockdown 2/3 occured during the winter, which is the normal time for seasonal respiratory illnesses, hence we see a spike in infections (or pos. pcr test) as people are under house arrest..We musn't forget the consequences of depression either.
The increase in deaths post vax is very concerning. The govt were aware of this, because the first people vaxxed were care home residents, the fact they are aware of this is a matter of public record & IMHO criminal.

@Maz G You can't help people wanting to protect their businesses and wanting their customers to feel safe. You can order things online though so there is some choice. Perhaps someone will set up a venue for the non-vaccinated but they'd have to be monitored afterwards in case they get Covid, so that they don't pass it on.

    • Owen Orders
      Owen Orders 2 days ago

@Maz G Yeah, that idea won't last long. There would soon be an outcry if venues and retailers started losing lots of money because people were banned from going to events or into shops, particularly when many businesses have lost vast amounts of money this year due to the lockdowns. For those who can't see the obvious, or don't realise or remember how devious governments are; vaccine passports would be unworkable, and if brought in would not last for long. The idea of politicians and the media even suggesting them as a real possibility is to make the credulous panic and rush out to get themselves vaccinated. Nothing more than that.

    • Owen Orders
      Owen Orders 2 days ago

@Eddy mmm I play 'Risk'/with people, even 'though they're not loved ones. It's a great game, but just a bit too simple for my tastes. As well as 'Risk',. I also play 'Scrabble' and 'Monopoly' and 'Chess' with them.

    • Maz G
      Maz G 2 days ago
