"Since when did bad versions of The Mummy become its own genre?"
That line earns this video a like
thank
Thank You . !good
@Bingo Bongo But the romance would have been way more progressive, specially with the switch of the younger adventurer male seducing the older book librarian
Since The Mummy Returns.
I should have realised this before, but now I can’t even under it… urgh.
One of the best Honest Trailers I've seen
Nice
Sure it is, a passive way to earn money
Ah come on, Doom was fun
not by a mile but that's an okay opinion
i like it
Steve Carell, Rainn Wilson and Ed Helms really gave the chef's kiss to this already perfect trailer. Well done!
“From the Disney of gaming, and the EA of film…” Five seconds in and I’m already laughing.
There’s definitely a lot wrong with this version of Nathan Drake and Sully, but I think the reason this movie got the “pass” is because it was still entertaining, and was faithful enough to feel like a game that could have taken place before the others
@DeathWhitch that’s a pretty corny reaction of “anger” for such a neutral thing of me to say. I’m assuming you’re pretending to be upset because you’re bored.
@DeathWhitch Calm down, nerd.
i have a read a lot of sh**y comments on youtube but this is the first time I have ever actually wanted to punch the commenter. Bravo
Nope
Idk man, I feel like nowadays, there is a war between the critics and a large part of the viewers/audiences. Seem like some awful movies get good reviews and money from the viewers/audiences, JUST SIMPLY because the critics give them bad reviews.
"When you put Boston and a crucifix in your script, you summon... Mark Walburg!"
Great line!! 😂😂
Not played the games, so I'm less emotionally invested in this than some. This honest trailer was hilarious to me though - one of the best ones that you've done!
ok
Haven't seen the movie in scared but play the game and just seeing the two main characters make u upset
I live in the Philippines, and the way they represented Kiamba (the location where the treasure is located) in the movie is impossibly way better than it is lol.
One of the best Honest Trailers I've seen. It makes me happier about not watching this film, honestly.
You are doing well here.
this honest trailer finally makes me finally happy about watching this expensive-fanmade-by-hollywood-inspired-by-the-game movie, beside Nolan's cameo.
Please say, in honor of Fred Ward:
“That means we’re stuck. That pisses me off!”
One of the greatest lines in movie history.
"An adventure so average, Netflix is using it to train their A.I. that writes their movies."
Best. Description. Ever.
They actually make AI's write scripts sometimes, but they never turn them into movies.
@Icynishia why sad ?
Sad thing is that it worked
Wait do they
😆
I've never played the games, just seen clips and friends play it. To me - a stranger to the games - I felt the movie "felt" like uncharted. There were a LOT of plotholes. My nephew who I watched the movie with, told me during the "boat"-scene that he didn't think the movie was that good. I felt similar and said it was a 7/10 at best, to which he said it was more like a 6/10.
Of course the TheXvid algorithm picked up on this and pushed some gameplay from the games forward. And honest to god, I was more engaged in those 5 minute clips, than the entire movie.
The games are great. I like hardcore stuff but the games were great for what they are. Their quality and polish is always astounding. Gets better from game to game.
Discovering this channel is so wonderful…and once you’ve watched them all the wait for the new ones is so painful 😅
To be honest I enjoyed this movie, while I never played Uncharted. It was enjoyable, stupid and funny. Made my evening a little bit brighter, just to forget about it the next day.
This Honest Trailer surpassed the movie for which it was a trailer.
Gold Star 🌟
Fundamentally, the problem was that it wasn't an Uncharted movie, it was a Generic Action Movie starring Two Actors You Recognize, with some uncharted nuts sprinkled on top.
So basically every video game movie except Sonic?
@Time Dragon spot on
@Sid so THAT'S why the Sonic movies were so good.
Maybe it would be more of an Uncharted movie if the actor playing Nathan would be similar to his character in the pc games... Why even did they choose Tom to play Nathan?.. They look nothing alike. And neither does Mark to Sully
BTW: It's 3 famous actors not 2
Thank You Very Much , my gratitude !
Haven’t even seen this movie and the “cave Troll” comment had me dying. Love your videos!
Thanks for sparing me the hassle of sitting through this movie. You guys are the best!
The best part of this video was talking in morse code at the end! I can't believe he actually did it! This made my day
I loved it when you did the Markie mark impression🤣
Absolute gold
"When you put Boston and a crucifix in your script, you summon Mark Wahlberg"
WHO WROTE THIS🤣
cannot mark the Marky Mark mark remark (mark: 2:12) highly enough
Genius!
Also works if there's an old Asian man on his own in Boston.
Comedy gold
He’s not wrong
"Since when did bad versions of The Mummy become its own genre?"
That line earns this video a like
And you dear bot a report.
They worked on this movie for 10+ yrs and this is what they came up with. Truly a movie that seemed written from computer AI.
So weird seeing someone who mostly does voice work like Nolan North in live action lol. He did do the audiobook for the novel adaptation of the movie though.
It's sort of like a reverse of Weird Al, Nimoy (RIP), Takei, Hamil and Johnny Yong Bosch who were all better known for their live action roles (or music in Weird Al's case) before getting into voice acting.
Even if this movie had been a groundbreaking piece of cinematic history, most people that would really have cared to watch it still probably think it's almost 15 years late.
Facts. Uncharted peaked two console generations ago. At best this movie is still 5 or 6 years too late ~ could have come out after A Thief's End
Do you know how long it took for me to realize that all the shouts of "Parkour" in this were not from the film? Way longer than it should. This trailer made me think that it was the main character shouting "Parkour" every time he did something "Parkour-ish". Good on you, Screen Junkies. Good on you.
ok
ok
Since it is the same actor that gave his voice to Gru on despicable me, in my head I say it with Gru's accent every time I see parkour in videos
"Parkoor! Did you see what I did there with the jumping and flippings? Bet you were not expecting the Parkoor!"
@Benji Tri"*hut-hut-hut-hut-hut*"
It reminded me of the SWAT team near the end of the "Blues Brothers", "put-put-put-put-put" etc.
Thank you for saving me 90 minutes. To make up for it, I'll go see the next decent film of these two twice.
I remember going to see this in February and genuinely didn’t remember anything from the movie until screen junkies helped me out.
I like how you're doing the runs in this one and some of your other recent trailers. Instead of just being like, "We found a lot of this. Here it is: (insert run), and we also found a lot of this (insert run)," you're working it into the flow of Jon's rants like, "This is ridiculous! See! (insert run) And don't even get me started on (insert run)!"
The morse code read was awesome. I definitely heared your epic voice in there.
That Morse code comment read was incredibly refreshingly unique
Only thing that would’ve been better was if Voice Over guy had made the various accurate beep sounds himself, but yeah… I’ll take what we got and call it a win
ok
This IS the Voice Over guy making sounds. =]
I LOVE HT....AND TWIIIIINS
Exact decoding.
@Creecy comment reading at the end of the video.
@Creecy at the very end, after he names all the characters
Adding the Office "Parkours!" was absolute frickin' genius 🤣🤣🤣
I gotta say, that Morse code at the end was excellent! 👍🏽🤣😂
I saw this with two friends who played all the Uncharted games, and we all ended up really enjoying it. It's not for everyone, but it's definitely something both fans and casuals can enjoy.
I genuinely thought I was hearing Mark Wahlberg lines for a moment. Bravo on such a good impression.
I'll be honest, I haven't seen this movie, and it took me until the third or fourth "Parkour!" to realize that those were sound bites from The Office, and not actual lines from the movie of characters shouting "Parkour!"
Not too bright eh?
I caught it the first time, they really need to do a trailer for the office. I have been commenting on every video. smh
Here I thought they were real and that the writers were self-aware enough to make jokes in an obviously terrible film. Silly me.
I'll be expecting "Parkour!" sound bytes at the end of the EWW video for this movie.
I thought I missed those in the movie!
Uncharted is one of my favourite game series and I absolutely loved the movie
Love the games which made me be more into video games. The movie I thought I might not like it but saw Nolan North on TheXvid saying basically fine with them making an Uncharted movie that was different from the games. So I watched it and actually did enjoyed it.
The Office “parkour” over lay was a master piece.
"Peter Parkour" was brilliant! 🤣
"Disney of gaming, EA of film" Bravo. This is so accurate.
Disney sucks though (except for The Lion King)
Yeah, I didn't really get that bit.
@Felktl09
There, this guy knows the truth.
I see Nintendo more like the Disney of gaming
Nintendo is the Disney of gaming
The Mark Whalberg impression was spot on 😭
1000% spot on review (p.s - love The Office VO, hahaha, nice touch)
That Morse code had me rolling 😂
My favorite part of this movie was watching it for free on streaming.
Whoever suggested the honest trailer guy to speak in Morse code is a champ
ok
@Q.D. White HT = Honest Trailer.
@C me neither. I had to google it once I transcribed it. I guess it's from some Manga somewhere.
@Q.D. White I don't get it
Except he said “I love ht…and twiiiiiins” instead. Sneaky.
3:30 Was a horrible moment to drink coffee. I think I can now permanently smell coffee inside my nose, Tnx Screen Junkies
I know this is kind of cliche, but it feels really nice having your country mentioned by the Honest Trailers voice guy.
Honest Trailers are, more often then not,
the best thing about the movies they mock.
I actually liked the film, kinda hoping for a sequel.
The "When you put Boston and a crucifix in your script, you summon Marky Mark" joke is the biggest laugh ya'll have gotten from me in a while.
Between that and the "Disney of gaming, EA of film" lines, I snorted beer out my nose twice.
Give me the chills with the line "Welcome to PlayPaintChill. You just gained honor +2 for following us !".
“SUCK IT GOONIES!”
I missed the next 10 seconds of the trailer I was laughing so hard 😂🤣
Adding the parkour lines from the office in the background made that so amazing.
That Morse code line sounded *Epic* . Bravo 👏
"Since when did bad versions of The Mummy become its own genre?" Lol
@Jeury Rabassa yeah. As a screenwriter, I would've done it differently.
@Cody Fairless-Lee You do realize that movie was very cliché right?
@IncredibleGoliath damn right
@Jeury Rabassa in my opinion, THE MUMMY (2017) was okay. Still better than the 1999 film with the scarab beetles.
@Cody Fairless-Lee And then you have The Mummy (2017) with Tom Cruise.
And oh boy was it bad.
I’m dying over the “parkour!” meme in this! 🤣
Movie was kind of fun for a treasure hunt movie, where somehow everything still works despite several centuries that went by.
The more a watch this movie, the more I appreciate Doom
The star introductions were on point especially the salt one.
That Office reference layered with the casting joke was frikkin perfection
pARKOUR
Parkour!
i thought i'm the only one who noticed it😂
Love the “Parkour!” from The Office US in there!!! 😂
"Oh crap remastered" lmao that's hilarious 😂!
That was brutal, mean spirited even…and totally honest.
“From the Disney of gaming, and the EA of film…” Five seconds in and I’m already laughing.
Uncharted should have been one of the easiest games to make a good movie adaptation out of.
And they did it. Very good observation there
Nope... Indiana Jones is over used...
And yet here we are
I though it was fantastic! 👍
I mean, most games when you break them down are incredibly easy to make a film - Assassins Creed is basically just Indiana Jones with a side of Matrix and they managed to screw that up.
You gave this Honest Trailer Way more oomph with your spot on Mark Wahlberg impersonation 🤌👌
watching two priceless ships, that somehow survived in a wet cave for centuries, get completely wrecked was very unnerving.
Brilliant. Might be the best one yet. Thank you.
3:25 Even I thought about it in the third-half of the movie. Just take one ship and go, it's more than enough. Why do you need both?
5:48 I thought my headphones stopped working, then I looked closely 😂
"Oh Crap" remastered is the most disappointing thing in this movie for me 🤣
*EVERY* parkour joke in this video lands. And, I mean, "nails the landing ("Even the Russian judges gave it a '10"')
One of the best hilarious funny honest trailer video, fantastic job and hilarious titles want more tomb raider movies or games.
4:05 🤣 this Wahlberg impression is so on point its gonna make Mark find another asian to hate crime on just to burry searches for this video "hey, thats my line lady!"
When you listen to all the Honest Trailers back to back, it quickly becomes clear how furiously upset the epic voice guy actually is
Honest Trailers Guy: ACTING! Thank you, thank you!
I wonder if he narrates other annoying things in life, like having to wait in line for that really slow cashier or trying to figure out why your kids can’t pick up after themselves?
he's doing public service by sparing us from watching these movies
We are all furious honestly, those who likes it uhhhhhhh
enough to feel like a game that could have taken place before the others
omg...the Parkour had me dying! 😂😂
The funniest thing when he added the parkour audio from the office 😂😂
Honestly, this is THE HONEST of all honest trailers 😜 EPIC
This film is weird to me because it's another one of those game adaptions that makes one question where is the line drawn between supposedly trying to be it's own thing, but still cribbing elements from the games. You can't have notable elements from the games like this while also going "Oh, no no, this is a different version of Drake that still has some growing to do and a Sully that hasn't grown his mustache." They want to have this easy adventure film while also neglecting the strong character work that was even in the first game because "This is different, but actually it isn't."
Repent to Jesus Christ
“The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”
Proverbs 18:21 NIV
h
@Shawn7108 and tbh it was more about foreshadowing the ending than to show off his origins
@Rod Al yup. You got a sense of Nathan Drake and what he's like and the kind of background he has without making the first game an origin story.
Uncharted 4 showed his origin, sure, but that origin played into the adventure of the game. The origin wasn't the adventure like it is in the film.
WARNING I am the unprettiest human YTer worldwide. Take the hint, dear rod
This was a good one, I hope they do the Pecamaker TV show at some point
This was the review we needed.
When I first knew of this movie's existence, I had no interest in seeing it whatsoever. But boy did I look forward to the honest trailer from day 1
"Nolan North on vacation by himself in the Philippines... HMM" made me laugh out loud.
For years I was calling for a movie of Uncharted. Now that it's out, I can't bring myself to watch it. It would be way too sad to see it ruined so badly.
Same. Waited for years for this movie but once they announced the casting; I was so disappointed. They could have at least attempted to appease actual fans of the game.
I don't think I'll ever get myself to watch this garbage.
It's not bad. I'm a huge uncharted fan and I like it. Probably so many haters because they didn't have a gun fight every 2 minutes and they needed a lot of rock climbing.
My friend made me see it with him just so he could see my reaction since I'm a huge fan of the games. It was so bad. The games are already movies, they literally just had to adapt it and failed
This is all your fault, Jeff.
I've played all uncharted games and decided to watch it with low expectation but surprisingly enjoyed it.
Haven’t seen the movie, took me a while to realize that parkour soundtrack wasn’t from the movie but from the Office😂blended in seamlessly
Thank you for making this so I don't have to see the movie.
I actually really liked the movie it's good for what it is
Imma be honest, I really just watched and loved the movie for Tom Holland and Tati Gabrielle. Also, I dont know the Uncharted story so no heart was broken.
This film should've been made when Nathan Fillion was younger. He was the perfect Nate and Hollywood blew it.
@Seth Samuel my point is that he’s in this film performing stunts of his own.
Our perspective of what’s “too old” in film is skewed
@Damon242 Wahlberg didn't play Nathan Drake
Don’t think Uncharted games are that old. He was young during his Firefly days. That predates Uncharted
@Seth Samuel so is Mark Wahlberg though
He is perfect in looks, but the man is over 50 now
The movie was amazing and it was full of references to Uncharted chapters, I don't know what y'all problem was
You know what this movie was well liked with my friends who never played uncharted games that really tells how hollywood’s target audience for this movie was
This was far more interesting and way funnier than the actual movie.
"From the Disney of Gaming..."
Considering their target demographic and the way they protect their IPs (via C&Ds and such), I'd say Nintendo is the better candidate for that title.....
Uncharted, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop, Assassin's Creed- they are some of the easiest IPs to adapt, but they still somehow messed up spectacularly.
@Zack Smith i hope chainsaw man and spy x familly doesn't got live actions adaptations by hollywood
The two Japanese live action movies of Deathnote were pretty good I thought. Slightly different script but good overall. I wouldn't go near a western version. I've seen what they do to western stuff & the less said about the mess that was the live action Cowboy Bebop the better.
Also throw in Dragonball Evolution, The Last Airbender, and the Japanese live action of Full metal Alchemist.
Moral of the story
Stop dragging japanese material into hollywood
@C definitely not lol. Most anime are not easy to translate to live action.
" blues clues level puzzles" legendary.
That Morse code comment was perfect 😂😂
"From the Disney of Games, and the EA of Films". Damn that's a good line.
This is the most brutal one in a while. 🤣🤣
I'm relying more and more on Honest Trailers to get through movies. I don't even know they exist until this channel mentions them😐
Me too. I'm wondering if I'm just that old
@Bully Maguire watching pitch meetings is tight
@Aitan Lewis Its actually super easy, BARELY an inconvenience
@Rowan B oh yeah def bro def
@Aitan Lewis ^100% this
The one-dimensional bit 👌😂
