Saying she only won this because she's British is like saying Close only deserves it because she hasnt got any Oscar yet. Both of their works were outstanding; stop putting them against each other.

Allright let’s face it.People want Glenn to win the Oscar because she deserves it and I agree she’s really amazing but not this year. This year the Oscar should go to Olivia just because she is better in the favourite than Glenn in the wife. I’ve seen both movies and they are both great but in my opinion Olivia is the winner.
This is just MY OPINION so feel free to think different and enjoy both movies cuz they are great :)

She reminds us that these actors are human beings. Because most actors are trained to provide a facade to the world that one can sometimes forget that once upon a time they were normal human beings like us. Olivias honesty reminds us of how truly grateful and thrilled they should all feel for the honours they receive. And besides she's just a brilliant actress full stop. Glad hollywood is finally aware of her genius

Glenn Close is gonna win the Oscar - I wish they would have been 2 separate years - both Colman and Close are amazing. But BAFTA is British so it would have shocked me had Close wom. Close should have won for Dangerous Liaisons in 1988, and not Cher for Moonstruck....... But that`s how it goes.
