My first time play this game just got the game yesterday
actually I find charisma pretty useful. At least for 2 points with Politic talent
"Old but gold..." =]
I'm the most hypocrite person in the world. Solving a murder while murdering all guards and robbing and raping through the village. I mean sourcehunter.
This is my first time playing this game. My main character I picked marksman with bow. And second character as a tank. From my experience in other RPG I ha e focus primarily on dexterity on main and strength on second. Have put a a couple points on bow and two hand for second. Im enjoying the game. But seems like I'm doing it right so far which is good
Great vid bro!
Thanks for the video, just bought this game on the ps4
Wow.... you choose female characters....on purpose.
I just figured out that you can summon in and out with the piramide objects, there for my most favorite is pyro class. you don't need too heal. just stay at distance, flee when nessercary and take a nap on a bed. notice too my self don't go to other dimensions, you will loose the summon piramide on that spot into your bag. other then that i use those piramide objects a lot. Also with flee, you can flee with just one person, while the rest of the party is waiting, no harm done, healing your self out of combat.also you can send the piramide object too your three other members, so good, when your member is locked out, just send a piramide too him. summon and you are back at the group.
Going from 3 to 4 is a 33% increase..
Jack of all trade, Master on None. But better that than Master of One.
Found magic too complicated so I restarted as a archer
Why is this game hard to find and expensive still? In the Uk it's going for £30 second hand. It held its value.
So what you choose? Please summarize.. Played original sin 2 then this one with tactician after 8 hrs i went to classic.
What does he mean by that?? 😂
2018 and this video is still useful. Thanks.
This is exactly what I was looking for. Explain what things are instead of telling me what to do. Great video.
I beat the game (1st time playing the game) on novice level with numerous redundant abilities in my party, and no master level spells in any magic school, just lots of master level scrolls bought, as well as dozens of paid for master level spells that I couldn't use. My gear was pretty stinking amazing though (PLENTY of gold toward the end of the game), and I had TONS of health potions and resurrect scrolls for the final boss (which I only used one huge health potion).Divinity is HARD puzzle-wise, but pretty forgiving ability-wise, at least on novice level. All this stuff in this video is great, and will probably come in handy on medium difficulty level and above...
1:39 this is not one player games...
Strength, with Battlemage, didn't seem important, since I felt the magic would help in those regards with buff/debuffs or use of both. I however really liked dual wielding wands even before inquisitor class was added. When done well, (albeit somewhat obvious) you can wreak havoc with elemental effects. Mind I'm also the type of player who likes to toy with the enemy too, I like to bat them around for a while before crushing them in one fell swoop.
WHAT IS going on guys
Im a sexy big girl.
no murdering, can't do it on my game play's ) like the idea about using Armour
who plays pc games in 720p
Any chicken heads with duck feet here?
You are fucking obnoxious.
Is this guide applicable to divinity original sin enhanced edition?
I followed this advice until I became overpowered and got bored, decided to try hybrids to up the challenge on tactician mode and found out Strength/Dex is by far the most OP build in the game and Dex/Int works quite well on rangers too. Thing is, you gotta scour the vendors for +stat gear and get into crafting to really pull it off, so much fun though. Every build seems mediocre after seeing what a flurry + daggers drawn backstabber can do.
Haven't seen the video yet, but just the intro and explanation for the guide was worth a like.
That voice tho. i cant even begin to watch this video lol
Great video, wished you had done something on party composition because now that the second installment is out some people might go back to play the first as well. I quit and restarted three hours into my first campaign, had tried a hybrid and was having a very hard time. Decided to go with a customized knight and a wizard... Bottomline: too OP. The Wizard controls the battlefield while Jahan ccs enemies left and right, the two knights set about knocking down and bringing down whoever survives the carnage. It's become so easy I almost wish my first playthrough had been like this but on the hardest difficulty setting.
still missing TK
Why would you play a role playing game min-maxing your characters? You take all the fun away from the game. Seriously. I can see why you would want to do that in a MMORPG where you directly compete against others.. But this is a Single Player game, as long as you are able to go through the game, just play to have fun. For example, there is this talent called Pet Pal which allows you to talk to animals, it is the most fun and interesting talent you can pick, but completely worthless for min max purposes. If you want to roleplay your character as a battlemage, then go ahead and do it. Min maxing is not for these type of non-competitive RPGs.
OMG hi everyone!!
this guide is so insanely good, the MOST important thing i think was at the start where you explain 'what will you have at the end'There are so many guides out there going straight into the core of creating a specific character weither it be a battlemage or w/e without letting us know the most important part, what will we have at the end of the game to begin with+ video in my opinion
I realize this game and video have both been around for a while, but I still wanted to chime in, and thank you for this breakdown, and tell you I like your approach to this character guide, in not recommending only one specific build, but instead tips about what to avoid when creating a character. Good stuff bro.
hi guys, i started with game without knowing anything in Tactician mode (more enemies)i started with a knight and ranger. i want to restart again with new characters, do you know what is the best duo for you ?
Hello, Looking for a player to play with in Honour mod. Anybody interested? please reply
Funny, i did all these things out of intuition.
Well, there are a few points I fundamentally disagree with (with the exception of the amazing bonus of two-hand and the later need for at least a few points in tenebrium, I utterly ignore putting points in weapons), but there are also a couple points in this video that are incredibly important for new players to know. Overall, well worth the watch, though not much new learned for me personally.
Dude it takes 15 points to max out 1 ability. So MAX you can get is 3 maxed and 1 at 4. Not counting any other bonuses and stuff. So limited, that hybrid is garbage, only good for a support character only.
"When you can just murder them for EXP" Oh lord I'm dead 💀💀😂
Does anyone know if the leveling points were changed in the EE?
this was incredibly helpful! thank you!
you can become lvl 23..not 20.....20 is the soft cap... 23 the hard capjust saying
dude quit + over 3 years ago. Just saying
man you saved my playtrough. subbed.
I'm a big rpg buff but this is the first game in recent memory I had to put it on easy mode just to leave the town. Great game
perfect video, great!
kek, Lone Wolf is the first talent I get on Tactician mode, though I only get it for one of the SHs
Is that 20 levels with killing all guards and villagers?
lol. I dont murder people that dont try to murder me. Im a nice person. Ingame
Long time RPGs player 20 years, this is a great RPG, customization is well thought out. Couch co op with my GF.
A Cesare great gf game. forreal
80 hours? sheesh
dude next time you make a video, consider the visuals. its just the character creation screen the whole time. youre not doing a podcast.
Im sure you've realised this after the seven months you posted it, but you do realise that this was over 2 fucking years ago right and that this dude already quit youtube.?
Hey man I like your content but the way you deliver it feels like an infomercial or QVC trying to sell me something I don't need
Prepping for my first play through, awesome video thanks!
Can you play lonewolf with one of your friend or does it deactivate the option of multiplayer?
Yes, lonewolf is only part of the char that has it. So if both starting chars have Lone Wolf, neither of them can get a companion. If only one has Lone Wolf, the other CAN get a companion.
THANK YOU. I was hoping to find a build guide that simply gives me the tools to build my own character with the benefit of more knowledgeable users. You even spare us the "just build this" or "this is the strongest" mindset so common in gaming. You Sir, have earned a sub!
Thanks, this will help me get started instead of throwing points around willy-nilly and thinking "AHHH SHIT" later on.
Thanks so much!
tell me, can i be a necromancer? can i raise the dead and if so, how does that work? do i require a corpse or do i just pull the skeleton or zombie out of my but?
@kasparovan dang, thats a pity
Don't think so, I wanted to RP as a necromancer too, but sadly there wasn't enough spells for that. The only undead summoning you can do is done using 2 spells, one spell summons a low level undead warrior, second is the higher level variant which you get later on, and it allows you to summon a higher level undead warrior, both require no corpses. The game is great, but it won't work for a hardcore pure-Necromancy build.
im trying to make a paladin build, this is proving harder than i realized. I'm a min-maxer player.
Is it possible to disenchant items or do we just sell purple and blue/green items??? Please help I dont want to mess up :-/
You can throw axes and swords into forges to get metal bars.
No disenchanting items that I know. But when you see those elemental essences (fire essence, earth essence etc.), your guy with the highest crafting can combine these with armor, helmets, cloaks or belts to add resistances - a kind of enchanting. Try adding tormented souls to weapons for strength and dex.
Jake! are you here jake?
First two minutes of video are not usefull, just get to the point already
Been researching the game's mechanics before I start my first game and I have to say....having someone tell you what NOT to do is much more helpful than having them tell you HOW to make your build a certain way. Thanks for the tips!
Notice, this isn't the enhanced edition.
Enhanced made some parts of the game worse?
I've only played the Enhanced edition, what are the differences?
yeah this is in the easy to play build xD
Trendkill? Here? I knew you only from SMITE videos! :D
owned the game 2 days still building my character for the 1 save death hardcore mode it's how I played all my other crpgs and table top role-playing is 1 chance death most people forget
loll how far you get
Why would I pickpocket someone instead of murdering them for experience? Geez, I don't know.
problem with killing is that you never know if you need them later too solve a quest. I did that with Esmaralda, because i did not like her lol.
You can buy their stuff with items, then if you kill them they will always drop your items. So in practice what happens is that you kill them and get all their items & gold.So technically both bartering, reputation & pick pocket are more or less useless. You might not want to kill merchants, but you'll get so much gold that you don't really care anyway. That said, it kinds of ruin part of the fun roleplaying experience.
You can steal stuff from their inventory that won't drop when they die. Pick pocketing in this game is good tbh
Exactly what I was thinking
You speaking way too fast, Slow down
+RedGear I wish everybody in the game spoke this fast. It would be a good game for me, but I can't stand that talking. Everybody there speaks so slow and sentences are spread wide so much that I wish they would get to the point faster. Fucking dumb dialogues in this game, such a drawback!
+RedGear i watched this video at 2x speed and understood everything he said.. Clean your ears
it's not a 25% increase buddy, great guide tho.
How many skills would you guys recommend concentrating on before moving to weapons?
It says on the chart (4:10 mins in) that at level 1 you should have 5 attribute points, 5 ability points and 2 talent points. Are you supposed to have those to spend or are they just what is assigned when you pick your starting class?
you have the most annoying voice...
Jim Partridge pundek
Jack of all trades, master of none. Often times better than a master of one.
"Why would you steal from somebody when you could just murder them?" 10/10
For everyone saying to not listen to this guy, and to not be a(n) idiot/douche/obsessive, you are really sad and pathetic. This is a Massive RPG, which means there are dozens upon dozens of ways to play it. Whether that's playing a well-rounded character, someone who tries to avoid all combat, a min/maxer, or whatever else. I like to play without killing wildlife or female NPCs if I can help it, and that's what makes it fun. Some people like to go through trial and error in combat, some don't like that at all, that's perfectly fine. Just because you don't like their methods does not make their way "less fun" or not how the game was supposed to be played. Some people just like trying to break games, and as a game developer I really appreciate those people, they help find game breaking bugs and glitches, everyone has their own method, and that does not make their method wrong, and it especially doesn't make them a douche. For everyone insulting TrendKill, you should know you are a really sad individual. This guy took time out of his day to help people who may not have time to try over and over again. He put together a nicely done video, and tons of people appreciate that.If you don't like that other people play differently then, by all means, leave. I can assure you, no one wants to hear your negativity.Thank you TrenKiLLv01 for your great video, and thank you everyone who likes to share your methods of playing, I'll try some of them out some time. My next run through I'm going to try and beat it without killing anyone that has more than 3 syllables in their name. Someone should join me for that.Peace!
Looking at this makes me think they dumbed it down for console. Dammit I wish my laptop was better so I didn't have to buy this on PS4.
hudsoneezy stfu pic fanboy lol.. what a nerd lmao
@hudsoneezy I prefer playing games on console actually. And I was wrong, they didn't dumb down the content, just the UI. I am fat and pathetic though. All of your other adjectives prove false.
+Keaton stfu fat gamer nerd pathetic super master pc racist
My personal opinion on this video as a casual gamer on a Signgle player game (mostly) is that this vid is useless.. Because this game lets you play the way you like to have fun.. so.. if you cant progress in the game its fine tis your fault.. but from there on its a single player experience :p not like youll jump into heavy pvp action and mlg pro gear grinding like in most MMORPGs. Tho i do understand that there are hardcore gamers out there so i am not against this vid at all. Just my opinion :p
About to get the Enhanced Edition for PC and I have to say that I really enjoyed your guide!I didn't find explaining the skill and leveling system spoiler-ish since I would have most likely spend a lot of time in character creation just reading all the tool tips :P
Tool Tips for the win
"Why steal when you can kill them for experience" because I don't intend to/physically can't kill everybody I feel like robbing.
Got sooooooooooooooooo lost half way the video :(
longest fucking intro of my life
4x instead of 3x is a 33% increase...just saying :)
See, I don't much care for "what builds not to make and specs not to choose." Why? Because fun and effective to me.
Super easy build idea for new players?
@Roland Yalon I'll try it out, thx
+Hacking Tutorials str/man at arms close range char. for supp go for int/hydro/aeuro
i need pickpocketing 3 to steal the bloody amulet from Eglandaer so i can get the best outcome from the quest =/
November 2015 : I just discovered that game... I wasted so many years of my life.
I started with lone wolf on both my characters and didn't know you needed 2 ability points to level to lvl 2 ability and so on, I added 1 point into every ability, couldn't beat starting area and gave up.
ah kk, pretty important distinction lol. then i guess i can follow your logic.
@Gavin RaeOK, everything was a slight exaggeration, but I did put points in everything relevant (2 handed, man @ arms, telek, leadership, charm, lockpicking, pyrokinetic)
it still wouldn't be a good idea to put points in everything....
@Gavin RaeObviously I assumed the later skill levels were level restricted
+Yijuwarp have you ever played any RPG ever? :S how could you possibly think that was a good idea.
So, basically talking in this game sucks and dialogue options are useless?
Good tips. Too bad games almost *require* some spoiling research before starting to play. Limited respec options would solve this imo. Also: It always seems so stupid to me to have a skill unlock at max level and then give bonus multipliers by level. Just say 50% instead of 5x10
+Alexandr Grishko No wonder I was confused, I keep mixing those genres up. Thanks for clearing that up.
+OmikronWeapon actually all you need to start games like this - think about everything at the moment of creation character. And later, thru whole game. thats why its called RPG, not an Shooter.
@Exidius07 That's good to know. I didn't mean Divinity specifically though.
+OmikronWeapon There ARE respec options :)
great music in this game
Will I be able to leave pickpocketing out of the equasion for my two main characters and use Wolgraff for all the stealing when he's in my party?
Hope for an Update, when the Enhanced Edition is out.
