  • Godzilla 2! Or is it Godzilla 2, Kong 3? To be honest I totally forget this was also a sequel to Skull Island...sooooo that's still on the list. King of the Monsters did better with audiences than critics so it's a perfect reason to find everything right with Godzilla!

I am surprised that you didnt give a win for the original Godzilla suit wearers :(

That and some people just want to see huge monsters fight and not have to deal with a "Strong narrative" when a more secluded story is just in the back letting the true heroes of the industry take center stage, animators. This made me feel like a kid again, watching Japanese TV (Kiku TV for me in Hawaii). Making a niche movie more mainstream is amazing for me, I get to tell my friends who or what the Easter egg is, who or what the monsters do and bringing them intoa circle, .
The whole movie I was just silently squealing as more and more things I loved watching was re-imagined and put into a stunning movie. And people were still technically in suits making the monsters move

Hey cinema wins. As for the factors that led to Godzilla turning into burning Godzilla, I definitely agree that mothra healing dust and the nuke were factors, but I think you are forgetting about one more important one. Remember about a minute prior (in your video) when godzilla was dropped from space and caught fire upon re-entry. I think that is a pretty significant factor aas to why he is so hot that cars melt around him and why he went "burning godzilla" rather than "Blinding blue light godzilla" or something like that. Just pointing that out.

I liked the movie much more then the 2014 but I grew up with GODZILLA. though I was a bit disappointed in the fact that the Muto’s were such a threat in the first one and now they were back seated.

I saw this movie for my birthday this year (turned 21). It was everything I ever wanted and I didn’t even care that I hadn’t seen the movie it was supposed to be a sequel of. It was an awesome movie where giant monsters fought each other and my favorite radiation-blasting super lizard was the star.

  • LordOfThe Flightless

10:49 uh, I might cry, suprised I didn't when I first saw it.

  • LordOfThe Flightless

I got goosebumps pretty much all throughout this movie. God it was good. The end fight got on my nerves a bit, kept skipping to humans but, for the most part they used the humans well there. They showed off the size and terror and shear destruction such titans bring! So I quite liked that actually. Basically why the brachiosaurus scene in Jurassic Park is still probably my favourite scene in any movie ever. And the score, yes, not to mention all the self sacrifice wins.
AND YES, I RECOGNISED THE HOUSE TOO!!!

You can't drop from "space" or exosphere at least if in the background there are still literally cumulonimbus formations there, it's probably somewhere between 4500-12000m in altitude, hence not space, hence no "re-entry". Also, use your head dummies, there's no air in space so how the fuck would gidorah fly there? You need air to fly if you have wings.

I much prefer King of the Monsters to 2014. I completely hated the fact that we kept cutting away from the real action to focus on humans that completely failed as characters. The huge plot contrivances to get our main dude (I cannot remember his name, because his personality was THAT bland) into every situation was utterly laughable. Don't get me wrong, the movie accomplished one thing really well: it showcased the horror of what these creatures would mean for civilians.
But King of the Monsters does exactly what it says on the tin. It promises Kaiju fights, and it delivers. No story? I see a huge story! This is why I hate modern critics that also said Fallen Kingdom had no story - it's because people seem to equate story=humans. People these days don't seem to see the story taking place amongst the monsters. I love the animation of the Kaiju in this film, because they emote in all the right ways so that you can see the story taking place without any need for dialogue.

Somebody on TheXvid should start doing a death counter from all the deaths in this monster verse like the first death is Bryan cranston's wife and the second death is Ghidorah getting eaten by Godzilla at the end of this movie and of corse Godzilla vs kong hasn't came out yet so obviously less and not going to be the same for the last ones. because future videos might be made being like okay now here's the new video featuring all of the deaths with a lot more. do you I mean? so they should do that in the first death will always be Bryan cranston's. wife

I think Serizawa's "Goodbye, old friend" was more along the lines of the fact that Godzilla has been a part of his life the entire time.
Godzilla: Awakening showed that, as a baby, Serizawa was a survivor of Hiroshima, and it was because of Godzilla that Serizawa's father joined Monarch, and right after his father's funeral, Serizawa joined Monarch too, because of the truth his father was working for. That line was symbolic of the relationship that Serizawa (at least feels) had with Godzilla.
Also the noises Rodan makes when Mothra stabs him are reused from the female MUTO just before Godzilla kills her in 2014.

Prior to watching KOTM, my favorite kaiju was Gigan, and I was a little worried that Gigan wasn't going to be in the Monsterverse. However, that opinion changed upon seeing the Monsterverse King Ghidorah. It reminded me of when I first found out about the Godzilla franchise, and one of my favorite Kaiju from back then was none other than King Ghidorah. So I'm extremely satisfied with the way the King of Terror was portrayed in the movie.
