@Madeline McGee No sorry Madeline this video was filmed a while ago, yes there are two batteries in it, one in the flower itself that powers the music and one in the base that makes it spin, I guess you'd need to find a way to open the base to stop it spinning. I hope this answers your question?

      In the spinning flower?

@Swiss Bytes Sadly buddy, I searched Amazon but didn't find Shiokara, that should be Japanese food. The Japanese do not tend to sell their food all over the world unlike Chinese or Italians. As for Russian food, that is a shame and disappointment, Our traditional food you already know, No different with other European nations, But the most strange part are some Oriental food made by Russians they said those was learned from Mongols who learned the same from defeated Chinese army, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pelmeni Those things i also find in Poland as their national food, even more popular than in Russia. As for our food, i blame the tough life of our past, we truly don't have too much of food for me to name, We are good at cook soup but those are not for market, just family food. That is why i can only search strange but good food from other people. >_<

If insects are more sustainable than meat but taste like soil then...just eat soil. Soil is even more sustainable - there’s loads of it. How big did you expect that scorpion to be in that tiny tin? It’s not a vacuum packed mattress. Also the size-to-danger aspect of a scorpion becomes irrelevant once it’s preserved in a can! Really enjoyed the video guys, keep it up. This channel deserves more subs.

'how do you know if a century egg is rotten?' *you buy a century egg* As it happens I have some clay, ash, salt, quicklime and rice hulls in my pantry so I might make some of these. I think the most off-putting aspect of the century egg is that it is a black/blue egg. It probably has some of the same umami benefits of fermented fish-based condiments but suffers from the fact that it looks so abnormal/utterly disgusting. You did a far better job of eating that than most reviewers on TheXvid so I have to applaud you. You shouldn't have gone before Julian though - it's like being next in line for an execution. Not to bring a downer on it.

    • Swiss Bytes

"'how do you know if a century egg is rotten?' you buy a century egg" - Ah but if that's the case, why do they have a "use by" date? One of my least favourite meat substitutes - fermented - what's not to like? It looks like hearty jizz strained through a muslin. I liked your tool, although it reminds me of a Tomy version of Gus Fring's box cutter. Aren't most vegetables bitter before cooking? I would have expected an equally bitter taste from a Brussels sprout. The cow foot curry looks legitimately delicious! Not sure how a foot is any worse than a shank if you think about it. The jelly will just be the layers of fat broken down through very slow cooking - I imagine it's a very fatty cut. I'd probably take the meat off the bones before I put it on a plate as I don't like tackling bones - and in fact I bet a nihari would benefit from a few feet being thrown in there instead of just bones. I reckon you'll develop a taste for cow foot curry. Next - cow head curry. Good video!

Is there any legal restriction on opening surströmming on an airplane or other public transport? I wonder what the reaction would be if not, and how they would overcome the rancid smell mid-journey. Good video fellas. I have to ask though, if you open the can under water surely you'll flood your delicious fermented sea herring with water? And wouldn't the noxious smell escape via an air bubble regardless?

    • Swiss Bytes
      Swiss Bytes Year ago

Although there is some gas the juice is the most noxious substance in the process and I think diluting that with water would really help also it is recommended that you wash your herring before eating as it is extremely salty... I mention that surströmming is banned from most airlines in the original video, and it's a criminal offence to open it in public buildings so maybe that extends to public transport... This case from Wiki demonstrates just how terrible it smells: "In 1981, a German landlord evicted a tenant without notice after the tenant spread surströmming brine in the apartment building's stairwell. When the landlord was taken to court, the court ruled that the termination was justified when the landlord's party demonstrated their case by opening a can inside the courtroom. The court concluded that it "had convinced itself that the disgusting smell of the fish brine far exceeded the degree that fellow-tenants in the building could be expected to tolerate"

  • Leon Buxton

Not your best work... I don't think your fat was hot enough, so I bet it all got sucked into the bread and your toast probably tasted like you dipped a bathsponge in oil. I'd imagine Elvis' cook would have used dripping or lard too - which would add extra taste and give a nice crust to the bread. Banana will turn to sludge if you cook it for too long as the sugar breaks down really quickly. I also think you should have gone all-out and used white bread - Elvis would have had a hissy fit if he found a chia seed in his bread. You'd have been fired! I bet Elvis' bread was like Warburton's with added sugar. I liked the fast-forward edits and overall I did enjoy the video. Are you taking requests yet? I'd really like you both to eat a whole chicken in a can. Cold.
