Riding Berm Peak at Night was more difficult and foolish than I thought
This has been a long time coming. Anyone who watches this channel knows I love night riding, but until now I have never attempted to ride Berm Peak at night. This is due to a variety of reasons, most of which should be pretty obvious. Bike lights are designed for singletrack-not wallrides and whale tails. Tonight, we throw caution to the wind and give it a shot on my backyard mountain bike trails.
Also tonight, we’ll test out some new lights from Outbound Lighting. I met the owner of the company at Sedona Mountain Bike Festival, holding down the booth all by himself. Tom is not only an entrepreneur, but an engineer, so we can be sure Outbound’s marketing department isn’t getting in the way...

Pro Racer vs Berm Peak! Kyle Scares us on the Teeter Cannon and more

For most of the things we have built on Berm Peak, just riding them is a big enough challenge for me. Kyle Warner has bigger plans. Kyle and April have a great TheXvid channel teaching mountain bike skills, but not everyone knows that Kyle is a 3 time North American Enduro Tour Champion. What will he make of the features in my backyard? Find out on this episode of Berm Peak Express! Check out K...

Later on this Spring, I'll tell you all why I'm dialing my equipment and gearing up. In the meantime, we need to get this cheap Amazon two stroke auger started, install D rings in the bed of the trailer, and install a power bed lift in the gator so we can use it as a tiny dump truck. We used the auger last week at Berm Park, and it worked great! Time will tell if all the bolts fall out of it, b...

Slopeduro Bikes are Unnecessary. Let's build one!

Today we build a slopeduro bike from my old Diamondback 5C. A slopeduro bike is a full suspension trail bike that has been modified to resemble a slopestyle bike. A slopestyle bike has dirt jumper geometry, very tight suspension, 26" wheels, a very simple drivetrain, and a permanently low seat height. Sometimes slope bikes are single speed, and sometimes they have a downhill drivetrain or road ...

Last year Some local kids were tinkering with an old bike a farmer gave them. (They were riding down his track. But they didn't have enough bikes for all of them) it was rusted and seized up. I rode past and gave them some tips. When I got home I raided my parts bin and took them a load of parts. A year later ALL the youths rode to my house (my parts looked good on their bikes, it looks like they took parts from their bikes and upgraded everyones bike and used the olde parts to fix up the first werck) with another wreck. I was so happy with all their work I've just emptied my parts bin and a load of spare tools and let them have free reign. I can't see what they look like in our woods over the next few months

Word of advice, even with an expensive cabinet, you are never isolated from the silica dust and a respirator is mandatory. Unless you want to die from silicosis. My friends brother shredded his lungs using one without a respirator. It’s the super fine dust you can’t see that does the damage.

To give Walmart some credit, they are getting a lot better. Tapered headtubes, one by drivetrains, nice paint, and even dropper posts. I got my buddy into MTB by convincing him to get a Schwann Axum DP. And while it’s not what guys really into the sport are considering, it’s becoming a much better option for newbies. This isn’t me trying to say you should buy them for flip bike, but rather for people reading purchasing their first bike to broaden their horizons. Keep up the quality shiz!
