I've seen other videos thats its 4 minutes then pour, but warn not letting it sit so much longer for over immersion. But with this method its in there a total of 8-12 minutes before pouring? why is the risk of over immersion not a worry here?

Wife and I bought the Melitta for the Parents in law, they had no grinder and only bad filter coffee maschines. The point that it comes with a grinder brought them away from using preground coffee, so plus in my book. No the Melitta is not for me, not now, not ever but it was for someone else, who only drinks filter coffee and does not care about the whole shabang that filter coffee can be. It fills the niche of a high end option for the coffee drinker that does just want that, drink coffee and nothing more and that it does quite good, in my opinion.

Hi James! I have athought about the increase of the brew temperature. Is it possible that the (cold) coffee grind cools down the first milliliters of water? The last milliliters of water ar running through coffee gridn that has been heated by the first milliliters, thus does not cool down… Or am I missing something here?

Hey James! Big fan from the Philippines, and this comment has 0 relation to the video. I discovered your channel not too long ago. I ordered squaremile’s Yabitu and it arrived today (first of the many orders i am sure). The flavor descriptors are peach, apricot and honeysuckle. So, a few months back i ordered Colombian coffee beans from a local roaster with flavor notes of Pomelo peel, grapefruit and nectarine. I didn’t like it. It tasted and smelled funky. After that i thought all coffees with fruit flavor descriptors taste just like that so i stayed away from them and just consumed those with caramel, chocolate flavor notes. You can say i tried to gamble with Yabitu. I brewed some today using your v60 method and it was beautiful! It was the first time i actually tasted fruity notes in coffee! It smells fantastic, too! It could just be that my mind was influenced by reading the description in the packaging but yeah i agree with peach and apricot! Sorry my coffee tasting language is not that good (yet). Squaremile did a good job with this one i’m glad i gave it a chance! Oh and by the way, i went back to my order history and check the coffee that tasted funky, turns out it was natural processed! Mystery solved, i know now which ones to stay away from 😉 Also, i’m learning a lot from your channel and i enjoy your videos immensely! Thank you for everything that you do. Keep safe!

The smell of the coffee in the chamber will keep me awake all night, it should be an air tight unit that doesn’t leak coffee smells when not in use, tea isn’t a potent smell like coffee so it’s possible to sleep near to it, some of the commercial coffee machines, self service use, maybe be better suited if you have £4000

If they would have put some ml lines on the side I could see this being very useful. I aim for a 1 to 4 ratio for my moka pot, and now I have to eyeball by using the bottom of the pouring part. With measurements on the side it would be way more consistent.
