    There is no point in a tutorial if you don't explain what you're doing. It makes it just a recording of your actions. Better try to redo this with a sound or a text, at least. Until then it's basically not as helpful and appealing. Hope you will do better next time.

    idk why, but i get just a triangle field when I put this on a flat surface, when looking at a preview or on a sphere, it looks correct. but on a normal surface. I am getting a bunch of angled triangles. Not spikes. just triangle mounds any ideas?

      Yess that's because your mesh needs more geometry, and it doesn't work well on flat/cubic surfaces It works better on meshes like rocks, terrain, spheres, etc.

      @Robytium Well if its for something static like renders, parallax occlusion mapping is good enough, I even like the effect more than tessellation :) Also you should probably use another software like V-Ray, or Octane Render... Cycles in Blender is good too
