    Looks good. I think I might butter the "inside" of the bread, grill it, assemble jt, then mayo (instead of butter the "outsides" and grill the assembled sandwich under a press/weight.

    Nice! Am def going to try the wine sauce. Never had it this way. LOVE lamb! Very nice switch up from beef or pork. I'd put a tad of butter in the end of the wine sauce simmer, just to add some body and thickness to the sauce but other than that, the spices and method you showed are temptingly good! Thanks for this one Robin! PS, I've noticed a lot of your viewers don't like the "gamey" taste of lamb. If you can get some loin chops from Costco. the flesh is a nice light pink, they are young spring lamb and are tender, delicious and not smelly or gamey at all. But Safeway also has very good lamb. Don't know if those two outlets are available nationwide but most places should be able to source some good, young lamb. I think the real key to tasty, not smelly lamb is to get it young. Let your butcher know. If the loin is huge and the meat is dark red, that lamb isn't so young.

    I haven't eaten much lamb because of that strong, "gamie" taste (I shy away from venison for the same reason) but with this recipe, you've inspired me to try it again! I didn't know about the "grass-fed" versus the "100% grass-fed" labeling and from now on will look for only the 100% with my meat purchases. My thought is that difference may also explain why the lamb you cooked doesn't have that gamie taste.

    • ilovegoodsax
      ilovegoodsax 6 days ago

      @Rockin Robin Cooks I do have a Trader Joe's nearby.😊

    • Rockin Robin Cooks
      Rockin Robin Cooks 6 days ago

      I was fooled by the grass fed vs 100% grass fed thing also. This all boils down to marketing. People get fooled. I have the same issue with eggs. Shall I buy cage free, free range, organic or pasture raised? Anyway, I hope you try this lamb recipe and find some lamb steaks that aren't too gamie.

    That looks so yummy! Sadly, I never had lamb until I was an adult. Living in the Northwest, lamb is expensive here, and something people don't commonly eat every day. I'd love to see you do a true shepherds pie using ground lamb. So superior to people substituting beef. Thanks for your videos.
