      Margie's It's No Secret Candies what I am saying is actual butterscotch is made from BROWN SUGAR which gives a richer deeper flavor than confectionary sugar can do. Caramel and butterscotch are seen as two different sweets

    I thought you did a great job!!!😊 I used to have a recipe that there was pudding in the frosting and I’ve forgotten all about it. I think it had coconut pudding and you put coconut and pecans on top. Do you have that recipe or know the name of it? I’d like to make it sometime but don’t have the recipe. Thank you for the video.       Make whipped cream from fresh Heavy whipping cream. But use powdered sugar to sweeten the cream because powdered sugar has some cornstarch which helps to stabilize the cream. Helps the whipped cream to stand up better for a longer time. As a matter of fact it would always be better to fresh cream. Mmmmm! Thanks for the question. Margie

    Thank you for the video, except these jars are not sterile. By virtue of no lid alone they are at best "aseptic", but given a boiling temp. of >100 degrees certainly pathogens may certainly still be alive in these jars

      Margie's It's No Secret Candies 9x13😳 that must have been insane trying to flip that thing. I’ve tried to make a big one before in a square pan but it was so heavy it crumbled on its own weight. I do however love to make the caramel flan in a round pan😊 I’ve added condensed milk to it and even cardamom for an extra kick of flavors. My mom and dad always request it and they don’t have a sweet tooth at all! Thank you for the response and do have a beautiful evening😊

    So happy to see a vid from you! I love this one because it is just the right amount of jam for me...3 jars, instead of a whole canner full. But may I suggest you turn the jar lifter the other way round? The rounded side will grasp the jar rim firmly, and the rubber part will grip tighter to your hand.       Fresh salmon and other type of fish really are not too difficult to make. I now do my fish and seafood cooking on my gas grill outside. Fish is actually easier that meat and chicken to make. Thanks for commenting. Margie

      I guess that you could do this pig out cake with fresh whipped cream. Use powdered sugar to sweeten the cream instead of plain sugar. The powdered sugar has some cornstarch in it which will help stabilize the cream. Helping it to hold up better on the cake. I am going to try it next time. Margie

      Yes this is a good test. Now that summer is over, it is probably a good time to trade in the old baking soda and baking powder for new. Summer is humid and that is not good for bs and bp. Plus the holidays are coming and it is important to have fresh ingredients for all those great recipes we are going to make. Margie

    Hi Sunshine 😀, Cookies & Cupcakes & cardio 😀, is a nice channel 😀, I learned from them how to make, cakes from scratch 😀. It changed My Cooking for Better 😀, Here’s a tip You can Use, Coffee Creamer in the cake mix😀, I use the dry then I just add, the milk to the creamer instead of oil😀. Also try adding the 🥚separately, put the yokes in first then take the, whites & whip them until they, have stiff peaks 😀. I learned that by doing this, it made the homemade cake, come out Delicious 😀. I hope that these tips can help anyone who Loves too cook😀. You should also try the Punch Bowl Cake💐.     I just tried making this but all my sugar mixture started to go white and harden just as I was mixing in the peanuts and I just had to pour out the semi hard mix and flatten it into the tray not sure what happened. I heated to 280f as I read in comments 320 was too hot

      You forgot one other element. Experience. When you use a phrase "like the old days" makes me believe that you have experience. I videos are created to help the novice. I want my watcher to get a good learning foundation. But all that said...I absolutely agree.

    I make this but use whipping cream in the mixer instead - it's soooo easy to whip up! Cool Whip is bad for you. I confess, I used to eat Cool Whip all the time, that is until I got older and found out the ingredients are unhealthy. Anyways, my version is great and I add a 1/8 Cup of lemon juice to my whipping cream and people cannot figure out what makes it so refreshing! haha!

    I've made this cake for over 40 years, and it as you know is a real crowd pleaser for sure. FYI, I have never chopped the mandarin oranges, try it next time you make, and you won't see a change and will save you time.
