Thanks for this tutorial. It's cool that you can pack the Angular client inside of the war. With that and spring-boot, you get the most similar equivalent to a software...let's say that you get a full web-application, with client and server, all packed in a single file. Isn't that fantastic? :--)

Fantastic idea to combine them, and excellent tutorial - one item to note: at a couple points in the video you say "AngularJS" but you mean "Angular" (since this is Angular5), and this could confuse newcomers.

Your tutorials are excellent and the integrated spring boot/angular app is exactly what I'm looking for. Any chance you will do an Angular6 version of the Todo (or even hello world) videos? I'm having a lot of difficulty trying to migrate the Angular5 version due to the transition from angular-cli.json to angular.json.

Hello! Great tutorial! Thank you so much for this. I have a question, I hope you don’t mind. I’m a beginner. I’m into generative art. I downloaded and installed Go on my windows platform. I saw a wonderful repository at GitHub under fogleman/ln which basically renders 3D to 2D vector graphics using lines. I just honestly don’t know how to work around the .go files I received. I already went past go get github. After that I’m lost. What result am I expected to get? Are the repositories that I “cloned” supposed to be packaged/imported to a main app that I’m supposed to create? Or is it a standalone build where it would output some sort of a GUI? Or if I run/build the .go files, should it output a PNG/SVG file somewhere? Sorry I have a lot of questions, I appreciate if you could answer some of it. Thank you!

If I hit localhost:8080 (host:port) app is loading from index.html. But if I hit any other angular route directly in the browser then I am getting 404. Because there is no controller defined in spring to handle angular route. Question: how to redirect the route to index.html in spring controllers?

    • Thiago Hencke
      Thiago Hencke 2 years ago

You can use a HashLocationStrategy, so every route will hit / and then angular will parse the hash and route you to the correct path. Add this in your app.module.ts: providers: [ {provide: LocationStrategy, useClass: HashLocationStrategy} ]
