It's not all his fault. When you're a post player, you rely on your perimeter players to professional enough to know how to make a simple post entry pass. Unfortunately, Embiid's teammates don't seem to know how to do that. He is forced to come almost all the way out to the perimeter to get the ball. It's so dumb. His teammates make his job so much harder.

Why is no one asking this genius about Trey Burke? Trey, Josh, Kork, Scott should be on Embiids team when are best unit of Mattisse, Ben,Ennis, Tobias and Al sit.

    • Arturo Ramos

I just dont understand It burke has just played Nine games to twenty two neto and he's been by far much better but time Will speak if burke Will get that backup position or not

  • Scott Lawrence

This team is really starting to find itself

  • Cedric Mallory
    Cedric Mallory 2 days ago

For the life of me I cant understand why Brett dislikes Burke. The only time embiid consistently has gotten lob passes is from Burke. He gets an occasional one from Ben- but teams dont have to defend ben they just defend the pass clogging up the paint. Hes outplayed neto for the backup spot - 21pts 8 assists 0 turnovers in his last outing. His chemistry is so much better- hes played well with both ben and Embiid. And has defended well. Burkes plus minus is 4.9 Netos plus minus is .9 Against nuggets neto had 0 points 2 assist 1 turnover in 10 minutes. His plus minus is even better than Furkan 1.1

    • Cedric Mallory
      Cedric Mallory Day ago

@Arturo Ramos he definitely appears to have preferences but whether its preferences for foreigners I dont know. But who he puts in his mind he definitely try to stick to it whether its hurting the team or not. Did you see how awkward neto was with embiid in the nuggets game? He turned the ball over after embiid set a pick for him. Yet Burke had instant chemistry and continued to have it with embiid. And he played well along side Ben. So you would think Brett cares more about winning but I guess he dont.

    • Arturo Ramos
      Arturo Ramos Day ago

@Cedric Mallory man i agree i feel like Brown got preferences with some players its boggles my mind that burke has just played Nine games to 22 of neto like how hes gonna get stale if neto got more played games than burke i dont wanna think that Brown got preferences with foreigners players or maybe he's that dumb to dont think that burke deserves play more than neto

    • Cedric Mallory
      Cedric Mallory Day ago

@Arturo Ramos Brett said he just didnt want neto to get stale. But that has proven to be less truthful. Like Furkan neto is the person he seems to want to have the spot although Burke is outplaying him. If Brett didnt have the pressure Furkan would be playing over Thybulle. Brett has shown that. He tries to force Furkan even having him in the game when thybulle is obviously outplaying him offensively and defensively. Both burke and thybulle are game changers - in their own way - burkes speed and ballhandling compliments desperately what the sixers need.

    • Arturo Ramos

Simmons not having a jumper forces Embiid to perimeter, where his jumper is not as gd as his post game. I love B. Brown but his nice guy coaching approach is not working, Ben makes our offense clunky looking, cause all he can do offensively is lay up or dunk. We gotta figure it out or we out of playoffs early.

    • Wave Function
      Wave Function 2 days ago

Embiid leads the league in post ups and the reason he cant just live in the post all games is because his body would break down , he's not durable enough ... Yes we need Ben to space the floor and theyre taking slow steps to get there , but we gotta stop with these sorry excuses for Embiid . He gets doubled in the post regardless if Ben is playing or not and the offense has actually looked better with Ben even in the half court . Its not Bens fault Embiid dribbles for to long and can be indecisive , thats why he was benched in the 4th a couple games back because he was awful down the stretch . Embiid hasnt been right for a while now , bad body language and looks like hes playing with no effort at times and hasnt been in the greatest shape . Either Butler is still in his head or maybe his girlfriend was telling him to mature now he's not having fun because its more than just his fit in the team or next to Ben

    • jonah Shockley
      jonah Shockley 2 days ago

@Tucker Doud I think he's going to be Josh Richardson replacement when the time comes. Josh will want more many than the 6ers can afford especially with paying Horford a big contract. Matisse will slide in on a cheap contract. He's not going anywhere.

    • Tucker Doud
      Tucker Doud 2 days ago

jonah Shockley we just need to keep Matisse in Philly as long as possible. I’d hate to see him go to another team. I think they’re going to have him for a while. Considering we don’t have much cap space trading for “higher value” players with Matisse in a deal wouldn’t make sense for the team or the front office.

Simmons has been playing incredibly well, especially defensively. Ben is better & more aggressive when Embiids NOT on the floor, the team functions better as well. Embiid has a low IQ court game, he makes the wrong choices too often, he should also stop trying to play like a small forward & instead stick to being a big center.

Meanwhile, Trey Burke didn't play. Ben Simmons didn't handle, or come to the ball because his foul shooting is suspect. I think these are exactly the types of situations Simmons needs to prove to himself he can overcome. Embiid is a walking turnover machine, so yes, definitely leave him in there. Hey, yoohoo Neto is not a ballhandler. He doesn't have the speed to get to open spaces at the top, he instead goes to corners, a basic no no, you learn in middle school not to do. No honesty, "Joel was good...?" Really? Well, maybe I wasn't watching the same game everyone else watch, must be my lying eyes...

Should of never had any games under 12 mins given his consistency since game 1 defensively. The offense is only going to grow. Idk what Brett was thinking

The exact stat I quoted many times now, so explain why Furkan, Furball plays ahead of this man? Forget that, why does the little weak Furball. Play ahead of Ennis who is also a better defender, stronger, faster and a better shooter, they both are, than Furkan? These are the types of things that make no sense to Fans who know the game, Analysts, or people like Magic Johnson...

Wolve's World exactly.. I just simply think it’s a coach thing.. you can see it on the court also.. sometimes the play calling, player choices and preparation looks so off..

76ers record when Thybulle plays 12 mins or more. +12= 13-1 -12= 4-5 He should have never ever had a game where he was able to play an registered a DNP. Should of never had any games under 12 mins given his consistency since game 1 defensively. The offense is only going to grow. Idk what Brett was thinking.

Him getting benched for the last 2 minutes should be a wake up call. His turnovers almost cost us the game. He’s gotta learn to play smarter

@hulkdaddy71 you are right, I did miss on the length of time. My apologies, Brett Brown has been here since 2013, this is the 2019-2020 season. Dare I say he's going into his 7 season. I went off the rails a bit, you are correct. Embiid was drafted in 2014 and didn't start to play until 2015-2016 season of which, he didn't complete the season. I believe him and Dario were both being considered for ROY ,which Malcom Brogdon ultimately won. Back to the original point made. Bringing the ball down at guard level is basic basketball 101. Stuff you learn in "high school" as a big man. He's had this problem all of his tenure here, down to now. Sufficient time (notice, no mention of years) for Brett Brown and him to have corrected the issue. How's that? You are right, I did exaggerate on the time, it's just frustrating seeing this problem over and over again. Peace...

@damonvaux910 Seven years under Brown's tenure?! Wow! Incredible. Brett Brown became the Sixers coach in 2013. Embiid was drafted in 2014, but sat out two years with the broken foot issue. He's only been playing the game of basketball itself since he was 16. He's 25. Your exaggeration is laughable. He'll develop fine.

Brett has to play him underneath the post... if he puts him underneath the basket he will be averaging 30

@bellabana it just proves they don't listen to the coach, the Sixers have had the same problems with not running plays, turning the ball over especially late in games as we saw last night, he has a system that don't work, why not change it, if you think he's a good coach that's fine with me, I know better!

@bellabana I'm not obsessed with the 3 and believe me I have knowledge of the game, BEN SIMMONS can shoot and it will help his team if he does, if your coach tell you to do something you do it, is that not correct?

These questions are idiotic. "How important is it for you to contribute?" LMAO. Matisse is starting to cheat less on defense, working harder to stay in front of his man, and his 3PT shot is hovering around 40%, which is good, making him a legit 3-and-D guy. He was very disruptive defensively today, even more than his 3 steals and 1 block might indicate. The Sixers should consider trading Joel Embiid. He is going to wear down a lot sooner than people think, and he is already lumbering on the court, often getting outscored by opposing centers who can run the floor or move laterally quickly. His shooting percentage is below 50%, which is not good for a big man. He is a turnover machine, often making crucial mistakes late in games, because he wants to play hero ball but doesn't have the talent to do it. His immaturity, ego, and low basketball IQ, coupled with Brett Brown's coddling, are a bad mix. I can't see Elton Brand having the balls to trade Embiid, or the balls to fire Brett Brown, but those two together will be our downfall.

      damonvaux910 4 days ago

You are correct, in order to get to the next level and ultimately, the finals. One of the two things needs to happen. Either trade Embiid, which is insane. Who would you trade his talents for and get an equal exchange? So, the most logical thing to do is get rid of Brett Brown who's in his 7th year now, 3 last seasons in the playoffs with the same results. Bone headed decision making, absolutely no plan, or strategy when the other team is making a comeback. Locked into a set rotations of which, I don't even know why Furkan is a integra part of for some reason. Question is, will the Sixers organization do one of the two things, as long as they remain profitable? Peace...

Pens Suck but I do agree with you mostly. Both Ben and Joel seem to play better without each other. Difference is Ben can run an offense. And is easier to build around. Just get a bunch of decent shooters. Ideally tho, Ben BECOMES the shooter, and they have Magic-Kareem type careers

    • J B
      J B 4 days ago

Pens Suck if anything Brett’s gone and they bring in a coach that figures out a way to pair Embiid and Simmons. If Simmons could hit a 15 footer at like 35-40%, that’d be the most dominant pick and roll in the NBA. They’d both average 20-10 at least

  • Pens Suck
    Pens Suck 4 days ago

The Sixers had two guards on the floor at the end, but they couldn't break the press. That's on the coach almost 100%. And why have Embiid out there? He is notoriously a bad decision maker, a bad passer, and he had like three turnovers in less than a minute.
